When I met him, I asked him if he enjoys being back on the road and he said he loves every minute of it.

I probably wouldn't direct this one to Axl...

but I would love to ask the new band how much the old band comes up in discussion... either in studio or on tour. What they think about Slash and Duff in particular (seems like we already know that they love Izzy). Do they respect their accomplishments? Is the old band something they try to run away from... or be better than... or just try to continue on, etc.

Not sure why exactly... but that question fascinates me.

I acn answer that. ?Axl mentions the old band guys in general discussion. ?He doesn't talk negatively about them, and happily talks about them around the current members. ?I'm sure he feels comfortable talking about the old band, especially when he's just sold out MSG with the current line-up.

I can offer a possibly more serious explanation. BBF likes to talk, alot. Finck doesn't talk at all. Different personalities often don't jive.

I would ask Tommy when is he going to sing lead on a GNR track. That would rule!

i think we're BOTH right. im serious though, OK players dont wanna be shown up by awesome players (for the record, i dont think BBF is awesome. BH was magic, BBF is ok, i dont like his shredding style, or anything he does really....i did like BH's shred though....at this point, i much much MUCH prefer Robin and Fortus)

Look, i like robin's playing and style, but he's not an awesome player. but u dont need to be awesome to be magical, and that middle solo on TWAT is magical! So again, im not coming down on Robin, i love him and Axl together, but he's not an awesome players. but if anything, thats even MORE of a credit then to his creative energy and feeling behyind is playing!!

If you've read any of my past posts, i never really mention BBF. I dont wanna say anything bad. I think he is a great great guy, and cool person, excellent communicator. BUT, i dont dig what he plays for GNR songs. I never get his improv solo's for GNR tracks, they never seem to have any direction....no start, middle, finish.....just notes...thats all i hear are notes being played. and thats cool, but if thats the case, i rather hear robin slam some nasty cool solo, or fortus show some nyc guitar skill, than hear regular notes.

Just to give u some insight, I overheard Axl talking to Seb Bach (NY after party) about Steven Adler...it was sorta hillarious....

I would ask Axl why the album has taken so long, and what makes *now* the time to release it.

I would ask the rest of the band to describe and detail their time in GnR, from their hiring and practicing to touring and recording.

i'd ask axl about his method of songwriting/recording-- specifically, if he ever wanted to ditch it and go a quicker/easier route or if this was the only method he knew anymore.

I would ask, "Hi, how are you?" and let it proceed from there...

I would like to ask Axl what motivates him to perform/make albums?  Is it money or fame or the music itself?

And what is his ideal audience?

What news are we getting?  We still don't know when cd is coming out.  Yes, I love that they are touring and I will be seeing them but I want this next chapter of GN'R to start.  Let's get it started.  When's cd coming out?

I hate when people say,"just a little patience".   I was 11 when Use Your Illusions came out and I'll be 27 soon.  I've been patient.  I'm just reallllly wanting the album to come out this year.  I can't keep waiting.

The new members ain't gonna stick around forever if CD fails to be released once again. When they quit, enter Slash.

Why would they quit? They get a nice retainer / salary for being on call, they tour regularly, and get to release solo albums and play other gigs when GNR are dormant. If I was in the band, there's no way I'd quit. I might get fired for answering back though.

I agree. They are under "contracts", and as much as they are great players, they are just employees. ?
It's obvious that when the Bigboss rejoins (Slash), they will have to leave very quickly. I still hope Richard will stay, my dream would be a Slash/Fortus combo. Bumblefoot would be the 1st to leave/be fired. Then Robin... I don't know... I can't see him "beeing fired", but he is probably smart enough to know it would be better for him to leave. Duff of course would re-take his place in the band, I still hope for Brain or Franck on drums, or steven adler (I don"t like Matt Sorum drumming). Dizzy on piano/keyboard of course. and Axl on vocals, and that's it. :)

I asked Richard whether or not they'd be touring Australia, 2 months later he simply said that they were in the process of booking show(s) and couldn't wait to do the barrier reef!

When I came up with my Frank question (how many tracks recorded on ChinDem), I spent some time thinking about it while standing at a table near-by... before I went to greet him.  : ok:

Either your mind freezes up or you start babbling nonsense.  :hihi:   That's why my (serious!) answer to this question was to ask, "Hi, how are you," (just like you would ask any "normal" person you meet) and let conversation proceed from there.

Now, if the situation were not a face-to-face meeting, but something like a radio call-in show or a press conference, I would probably ask Axl, "When is Chinese Democracy going to come out, really?", and I would probably ask any of the other guys, "How does it feel to be a part of one of the greatest rock and roll bands of all time?"
