Mine is Richard. He seems like a totally down to earth guy who you can kick it with at the bar.

Robin is the type of guy that you need as a friend... everyone needs a quirky guy as a friend.

Bumblefoot seems like ur weird second cousin who plays video games all day.... that's rocks!!!

and tommy.... welll... he has the look of a rockstar that's for sure. he's probably the most experienced rockstar of the bunch.

My fav new member would be either Richard or Ron. I couldn't choose between the 2.

I don't like playing favourites, but I will say Tommy Stinson has the most impressive back-catalogue.

yeah i think the title of the thread is wrong, it should be "favourite new-gnr member" or something, because both tommy and robin has been in the band for yeah a very long time...

i don't know wich one i like the best, like/love 'em all almost equally much (yeah wrong english i know : ok:), it's like deciding wich is better pizza or hamburger :hihi:

I have to agree but there's also alot to be said for Ron's personality and respect for the fans. Not that Richard doesn't but Ron really is a guitar player for the fans. lol. I like them both.

Axl said it is a new band back in Rio 2001. It's a new band with the same name as the old one.

Yes... it was Matt who suggested getting Robin on board.  At that time, the line-up was Axl, Robin, Paul, Duff, Matt and Dizzy.

Tommy.  I'm a huge fan of The Replacements and his solo stuff, so I couldn't be happier that he's playing bass and giving some solid credibility to the current line up...

I distinctly read this thread as being your Favorite NEW member not the old line up but what do we know? EFISH: I think Robin is doing a fine job filling in. Besides no one said he was replacing Slash, but that's all in the past.? ;D

I think that every artist -no matter how great or not great he is-  learns new things everyday.
It's part of the art.
Sounds to me that Robin's playnig changes and evolves, it doesn't sound like somebody's learning how to play.
Just my opinion.

Robin, even though he came in on Matt's suggestion to play with Slash and wound up becoming the departing Slash's direct replacement, has been in the band nearly 10 years, and has played with basically the UYI lineup until the band slowly evolved into its current status. The problem I have with threads like these, as well as most media reports that talk of Axl being somehow in the wrong for still having a Guns N' Roses, is that Axl didn't just wake up one day and fire everyone and then reappear with these new players. The "classic" lineup's last album was Lies. But, I digress. Robin's got my vote because Robin has and will always kick ass, no matter what band he's in.

Ron Thal for the freaking win. Fortus is amazing as well.

I can appreciate your opinion, and I am in no way trying to undermine a guitarist like Slash's talent or what he contributed to the GN'R legacy, but what I posted earlier is hardly revisionist or wrong. It's fact and that's the real timeline we have to look at. Whether or not Axl referred to this as being a new band doesn't make it a "new band under the old name," he was probably saying that since Guns had been out of the spotlight for so long, the members that came and went and who eventually became the "stable" lineup were people that the general fans were unfamiliar with...at that point. Hence, a "new" band. But it's still Guns N' Roses. Guns N' Roses did evolve and continues to evolve. Just because a new album wasn't released more promptly in the interim of each band member individually leaving over time, means exactly that -- lineup changes happen, and when there's no new material to reflect that as it happens, what eventually emerges may appear as a new act or a completely new direction to many people, when in fact it's just a continuation of what came before and what's been going on all along. I still vote for Finck, and yet I still love Slash. I've been a fan of Guns for quite some time, when Slash was still an active member to this day. Both players have their own style, and I just happen to prefer Robin's.

I'd have to say Robin Finck. He may not be the most gifted guitarist but he makes up for it sheer stage presence. I hated the guy at first but he's won me over now.  :beer:

I love "Dizzy", he has been the most faithful band member and friend of Axl's hands down, and also has impeccable musical talent, but after all this topic isn't about Dizzy, it's about new band members.

this was hard but i have to say Robin Finck. he has incredible stage presence is just overall such a badass. i can't wait to hear his contributions on Chinese Democracy.  :peace:

I think tommy is by far the most important new member. I think he keeps Axl moving forward. Remember Axl has refered to him as "general Tommy Stinson" I also think he has such relevance as a musician due to his work with the Replacements. Just a quick sidenote: Thank God Robin went away from that freaky goth look. That was one thing I was having trouble with early on with the new lineup.

They are all really nice dudes. But I think Richard is the most powerful on stage. I dont have a favourite but gun to the head id say Richard. He is a really top bloke and fuckin killer on stage
