I think it sucks.

Ridiculous, especially lyrically. Axl's brilliant and all (usually), but that song was not his finest hour.

I love it. the hob cleaned up version is amazing and the lyrics are pretty good.

Riyadh

Oh-Oh
Ohhhh
Oh, Oh-Oh
Ohhhh
Oh-Oh
Ohhhh
Oh, Oh-Oh

Riyadh and the Bedouins
Had a plan and thought they'd win
But I don?t give a fuck bout them
Cause I am crazy

All my salvation
And all my frustrations
Caught in the lies
No one I love is well ???
Somewhere in time
Where only I can tell

Ohhhh

Ohhhh
Oh-Oh

Riyadh and the Bedouins
So that?s the world that you came in
I ain?t had enough of them
Who can blame me?

Half the time you never win
Nomads and barbarians
I won?t bend my will to them, you ag-gra-vate me
My salvation
And all my frustrations
Caught in the lie
No one I love is well??
Somewhere in time
Where only I can tell

My salvation
My frustrations
Caught in the lie
If you?re at home as well ??
Somewhere in time
And only I can tell

All my salvation
And all, my frustrations
Caught in the lies
If you?re at home as well
Somewhere in time
There only I can tell

Oh-Oh, Oh
Oh-Oh, Oh
Oh-Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh
Oh-Oh, Oh-Oh, Oh-Oh, Oh-Oh, Oh

No the song sounds terrible. If this is going to be on Chinese Democracy I will not buy it.  They have had WAY TOO MUCH TIME to come up with songs like this.

I have to admit I'm not too fond of the song either, though I haven't listened to it a ton so maybe a cleaner version would grow on me.  Honestly, Rhiad, Silkworms, a couple tunes from TSI, and maybe My World are the only GNR songs I could do without.

I guess I'm one of the few that likes this song and sees a lot of potential with it. Out of the new songs, it's one of the few with a good rock beat to it (Better, Chinese Democracy, and possibly IRS being the other ones).

i see it has potential, maybe a 06 style Axl singing it will improve it.

It's decent. A filler that's ok to sing a long to and tap your foot. That's about it.

I think it needs a lot of work if it's ever going to work.

Here is a cleaned up version.

The song is better than IRS IMO.

I don't like the version they played 2001/2002.  But I'm sure the version they have on their setlist at the moment will be a completely reworked version of the song. ;)

I like it, I think Axl ruined all the few live versions with his voice, but the band played it very tightly. The 3-guitar-fusion at the middle of the song is awesome.

I think its time for GNR to play it again with the ''new'' and almost flawless Axl voice (he sucked in 2001/2002, at least, in that song)

London Docklands Arena was the best version IMHO

Not a fan of this one. It's the only new song that I think is weak. At least Silkworms sounds really cool and has a sinister feel to it.

I enjoy it immensely.  Amazing verses ("oh, oh oh" part) but the choruses are lacking(oh my salvation) but i'm sure cleaned up in the studio it could sound great.

I like it very much. It has a cool Zeppelin vibe to it. I'd love to hear a studio version of it one day.

I like this song and really really hope they play it live again so we can get another boot of it ;D ?Maybe it's cuz I grew up with Zepplin or something, but I  like it alot. :) ?I think a studio of this song would totally rock.

;D

This song is killer. The guitar solo is not good at all however, it sounds completely weird and un-melodic. They should create a new solo with a more bluesy/Rock vibe. But the rest of the song is killer.

Song has alot of potential.  They've had plenty of time to make some changes to make it an all out rocker.

 Hey,
? The first time I heard this song was by way of my friend Patrick singing it to me over the phone,'cause I was at work and he found it online (years back now) and I was so f'n crazy to hear something (anything!) new from GN'R and he knew this so he obliged.
He was sang the chorus for me "Oh! My salvation! And all my frustration!..." and I was like "Dude,......that sounds? awesome.? Sing it again!"? Pat's an okay singer and it still blew me away.

I think Axl's voice is so full of heartache and passion on this song. It fuckin' hits me man. I think the bridge around the 2 minute mark is killer as well.
Solo could use a tad bit o' work but, overall I dig it a lot and would very much like to hear it on CD.

? Btw,that version from yousendit sounds awesome! Thanks Dave!? : ok:

? Question: What show is that version from??

? ? ? ? ?Thanks,

? ? ? ? ? ?MATT

Love the intro and solo.  The best version was the 2001 HOB show unfortunately the recording quality wasn't very good.  I'm convinced that the studio version kicks ass

I think it blows.... Musicaly it is shit.... The lyrics are shit and make no sense at all....

Its the worst new song they have...  I dont even know why they played that shit in public.

I have heard songs on myspace that are better than that crap.

LOL, yeah, I saw threads like this, but I love the track, so I don't mind (in fact, I'll say the same thing I said before :P)

It's an awesome song - specially the instrumental. The drums and Robin's guitar work are killer, but A LOT of people miss that because of the quality of the recording. In fact, I bet people will change their minds about Rhiad once a good quality version (soundboard/studio) is released.

I wish I could play drums, but I tried to record the guitars just to show how good the riffs are.

This is me playing the guitars on Rhiad along with the Osaka audio:
http://www.perfectcrimegnr.com/downloads/Rhiad_Voodoo_GNR.mp3

Same recording as above, but only with guitars:
http://www.perfectcrimegnr.com/downloads/Rhiad_Voodoo.mp3

Hopefully my bad guitar playing helps people to realise how the instrumental is one of the best out of the new songs.

Agree with you there mate. Its an utter shocker, really bad. As bad as Silkworms? Hmm possibly.

I don't care much for it, it's nothing special or anything great for that matter. But anything's better than Silkworms and that isn't saying much....

Personally I hated it at first. I heard it and thought "What the fuck is this?" but it was stuck in my head. Long story short I love it now. It'd be cool if they played it live but if not no big deal.

Also did they quit playing it half way through during the 2002 tour?

Riyadh

Oh-Oh
Ohhhh
Oh, Oh-Oh
Ohhhh
Oh-Oh
Ohhhh
Oh, Oh-Oh

Riyadh and the Bedouins
Had a plan and thought they'd win
But I don?t give a fuck bout them
Cause I am crazy

All my salvation
And all my frustrations
Caught in the lies
No one I love is well ???
Somewhere in time
Where only I can tell

Ohhhh

Ohhhh
Oh-Oh

Riyadh and the Bedouins
So that?s the world that you came in
I ain?t had enough of them
Who can blame me?

Half the time you never win
Nomads and barbarians
I won?t bend my will to them, you ag-gra-vate me
My salvation
And all my frustrations
Caught in the lie
No one I love is well??
Somewhere in time

My salvation
My frustrations
Caught in the lie
If you?re at home as well ??
Somewhere in time

Somewhere in time
There only I can tell

Oh-Oh, Oh
Oh-Oh, Oh
Oh-Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh
Oh-Oh, Oh-Oh, Oh-Oh, Oh-Oh, Oh

those lyrics are close but i think this one is a bit more accurate

Oh-Oh
Ohhhh
Oh, Oh-Oh
Ohhhh
Oh-Oh
Ohhhh
Oh, Oh-Oh

Rhiad and the Bedouins
Had a plan and thought they'd win
But I don?t give a fuck about them
Cause I ain't crazy

Oh, my salvation
Oh, my frustrations
Caught in the lies
No one I love is there
Somewhere in time
When will I, get there?
Ohhhh

Ohhhh
Oh-Oh
Ohhhh
Oh, Oh-Oh

Rhiad and the Bedouins
So that's the world that you can't live
But I have had enough of them
Who can't blame me?
Half the time they?re Bedouins
Nomads and/or Aryans
You?ll never take me

Oh, my salvation
Oh, my frustrations
Caught in the lies
No one I love is there
Somewhere in time
People will like me there

Oh, sweet salvation
Oh, my frustrations
Caught in the lies
If you ignore this world
Somewhere in time
When will I, get there?
Ohhhh

Ohhhh
Oh-Oh
Ohhhh
Oh, Oh-Oh
Ohhhh
Oh-Oh
Ohhhh
Oh, Oh-Oh

Oh, my salvation
Oh, my frustrations
Caught in the lies
If you ignore this world
Somewhere in time
People will like me there
