R.I.P. Title: Re: Milton Friedman Dies Post by: Surfrider on November 17, 2006, 06:17:09 PM This was a great man.? Free to Choose was one of the greatest books I've read and a foundation for my beliefs.? he will be missed :'(.? The world lost a great man today I haven't read that book in years. Very influential book.Title: Re: Milton Friedman Dies Post by: Where is Hassan Nasrallah ? on November 21, 2006, 08:49:52 AM he is one of the reasons that keep our economist and governement so stressed on growth and the illusion that "free-market" will fix everything.

Or are you discounting it because it goes against your socialist/communist beliefs? Your still are an admitted socalist right? i share ideas with socialist, communists, liberals, neo socialists and many more.i haven't read full books of friedman i admit - you dont need to read full text to know about one mand - , i have read articles, and paper by and about him. and it is know that the class of economists he belongs to were the one who "built" our free-market world the way it is - and it's normal, at the time, their visions were amazing - we are now witnessing how wrong we were. disagree ? things are rolling well for planet earth ? Title: Re: Milton Friedman Dies Post by: Where is Hassan Nasrallah ? on November 21, 2006, 09:31:00 AM i must say that friedman had some interesting ideas that would shock many of the pro-capitalism guys here:
negative taxes universal minimum wage but again, it's all based on an old thing: growth and free-market will save us all.
