I was just reading the multitude of threads speculating on when the fuck this album is coming out and I was just wondering...anyone sure enough of themselves to actually go into a bookies and put some cash down on a date?

If anyone has, what were the odds you were given? 

No reason for asking, just idle curiosity!

I didn't bet on an ACTUAL date but I bet a 100$ it was coming out this year.  As you can understand I am getting a little nervous at this point.  *lol*  :nervous:

The male one really seemed to enjoy it. I was a little worried about the fact, until I realized I named him Slash.

The bookie is my friend and yes he did laugh in my face and is laughing more and more as the days go by.

If I was a betting man (I am not) I would bet $100.00 on Pittsburgh winning the Super Bowl again this year (lol) before I'd waste a dime on guessing Chinese Democracy's release date.

Oh God!  Please AXL!  If you have any respect for your fans please release this album in 2006!  Nobody wants to see that!  *lol*

well heres some odds making for those who would want to.

Lets see, well start in 2002 when im sure the first utters of a release began.
 
You have 365 days a year and only 1 day when it would come out, plus well factor in that they get released on tuesdays, so that narrows it down to 52 days in a year.

So i Guess it would be 52 days by 4 years= 208 days you could bet on, which makes the odds 208 to 1.

So a 10 dollar bet would pay off 2080 dollars from a bookie. 

Keep in mind this is just me bsing off the top my head from 2002.  If you were to bet now(with a bookie) they would be significantly changed.

But as far as a friendly wager, I've bet friends(and lost) drinks for march,  Singing Sweet dreams on karaoke For an August release, and after that I pretty much learned my lesson.

Now my friends keep saying its never gonna come out, so I'm trying to coherese them into a make up bet on that.

My bet on the release date is that these threads will continue like this:

"It's coming out on 11/21 - my buddy at Best Buy heard it from the manager"..... [doesn't happen]

"CD will be here on 11/28 - the RS piece said so, and I know someone backstage at MSG who heard Robin's guitar tech say so"... [doesn't happen]

And so on and so forth, until the album actually does come out.  I'm all for being hopeful (and I am), but this endless speculation is driving me nuts...when it's in my hands, I'll know it's out.

Dude, your odds for that bet would be shitty as we all know for a fact that the threads in the vein of 'it'll be out (insert some random date here) because (insert some tenuous link to GnR here) says so' will continue forever and a day until the actual CD is out.

No point on betting on the predictability of 'the release date will be' message board threads!  We all know there's gonna be at least 5 a day till kingdom come.

There's no fucking way i would place a bet on cd coming out! I hate to lose money!!
