think about the people that read time magazine and what they might listen to.

but still...considering that I think AFD is the #1 album of all time it does seem at least a little bit wrong.

We will have another list next week i'm sure. So Perhaps AFD will feature on that.

Who actually cares for these lists?

That's actually a pretty decent list of albums and a wide variety too.  It's really hard to believe that AFD would be left out though.  I wouldn't be surprised if they just forgot like dumb asses.  Nobody that knows AFD would leave it off the '80's list.'  That's what blows my mind; they have it broken down by decades and still didn't put Appetite on there.  With a magazine as big as TIME that's ridiculous.  Fuck it though, it doesn't affect my day.  We'll have 10 new lists tomorrow from various other magazines or sites that will do the same thing.

What?!! Top 100? ????

That's laughable... and in looking at it look at the other 80's albums that made it? ?:hihi: I've give you maybe 4 or 5 that could be debatable for groundbreaking or massive massive success (NWA, Run DMC, Thriller, Joshua Tree etc) but come on 2 Prince albums?? I'll give you Purple Rain, but another one? And I'll give you Run DMC, and Public Enemy, and NWA, but Eric B. & Rakim? That's 4 rap albums.. AFD was better than 1 one them. And Chuck Berry? In the 80's, that's a greatest hits album.. shouldn't count.

AFD should easily be a top 20 album period. No matter who's counting.

And why no Pink Floyd.

Who gives a fuck?

Anyone who makes a top 100 list is on a big ass ego trip anyway. That shit is all opinion, and what makes yours worth more than mine? Why should I give two shits what your favorite album is?

Must have been a slow news week  ::)

Any list that has greatest hits albums on it instantly loses credibility for me.

U guys make me laugh.

Critics suck until they say something great about GNR then they are loved.

Best album lists suck if AFD isnt on it but I guarantee If AFD wouldve been in the top ten, everyone would preach the list like it was the gospel.

Sign O the Times by Prince is one of the greatest albums ever, 2 cds of amazing material.  u wouldnt know that of course cause u have never heard it.

Its still not better than AFD. Any list that doesnt have AFD has no cred at all. Esp with some of the albums listed on there. And the Beasties album listed under 80s album is not even the best 80s beasties album, Licensed to Ill is much better than pauls botique.

Damn, some people really need to figure out what an opinion is.

then u should know that Sign O The Times belongs on that list.

Im sure Appetite was an oversight, when u are thinking of 100 albums it happens.

Notice most albums are from the 70's and 60's so its pretty clear who is makin the list.

I am just pointing out that it is impossible to rank music in any kind of order.

There are those who would choose Britney Spears over Mozart.

Its music and there is no such thing as this is better than that, so why even get upset over a group of people's opinion?

even if they had Appetite number 1 it still wouldnt mean anything.

If you're talking to me, I wasn't upset over anyone's opinion. The only people who's favorite albums I care about is myself. I really resent the assumption that you personally know what people have and have not got in their record collection.
Why say that these lists don't mean anything and then argue over what should and shouldn't be on it?

D. alright. I'll give you that Prince album too, but can you really say AFD is not a top 100 album?

This list is skewed too because of it's greatest hits. I mean, come on Elvis doesn't even make it in until the 90's. Overall, it has a good base. The 60's seem pretty accurate, same with the 70's, then all the greatest hits & inclusion of every genre of music in the 80's & 90's just throws it off. And only Radiohead, Eminem, and Outkast were in their peak during the 2000's.

I like AFD alot, top 10, but I can understand if anothers list it's about top 20 top 30... but to not make top 100?

of course appetite is a top 100, hell to me its a top 5 but there is no need in tryin to discredit Prince.

I was just pointing out that anyone who has heard Sign o The Times would also agree its a top 100 album

when your list for 2000s has more reissue type stuff than new releases i must disagree (no white stripes, no approval.)

These lists are opinion, so I will rarely agree with them.  They are also all complete BS because they rarely seem to even attempt to cover a wide variety of music or make intelligent, objective picks.  Some of those albums are compilations anyway so this list, even if it's only opinion, is void.  Imo of course  ::)

I hate lists that include Greatest Hits albums.  That's not an album.  It's a compilation.

AFD deserves to be in there over 90% of those albums.  Not including Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon is pretty horrible as well.  The Band's Big Pink and Jay-z's Reasonable Doubt are also glaringly missing.

A pretty boring typical list to say the least.
