Title: An open letter to W. Axl Rose by his most loyal, hard-core fan Post by: GeraldFord on November 15, 2006, 12:32:14 PM Dear Mr. Rose:
First, on behalf of all GN'R fans who have seen this tour, WELCOME BACK! The shows have been terrific and it's great to see you guys again. With regard to the release of "Chinese Democracy," could you please tell Jarmo/the HTGTH community the status of the album's release. Things change, and if you thought that it would come out in 2006 and it has been delayed, that's cool. We, the loyal Axl Rose/GN'R fans will always stand behind you. For some people, however, "Chinese Democracy" is more than just an album...it's like a dream for us, something some of us have craved for a long, long time. So, I would like to request an update. When is "Chinese Democracy" coming out and what is the delay? Thanks, A loyal and dedicated fan Title: Re: An open letter to W. He cant' say which one because that would ruin the surprise of just walking into the store and finding it there. I stop by every record store in a 25 mile radius of my home EVERY SINGLE TUESDAY in hopes of finding it there. It's fun, and builds a lot of excitement. It'll all be worth it because I know that in one of the next six Tuesdays, I'll find it there. Then I'll listen to Sorry on the drive home. Axl doesn't need to tell you anything because he's already said it. THE ALBUM IS COMING OUT WITHIN SIX WEEKS! Stop bitching and enjoy it! Title: Re: An open letter to W. I'd like to see GN'R get back on top again. I know if the music is great , which it will be, this thing will start to sell like crazy. A little promotion wouldn't hurt though. I guess the Harley ad is a good start, but I'd like Axl to at least say something about it at one of his shows.

It's not a matter of a belief in "Axl's word." 3 months ago 2006 was "it" for sure, but like I said, things change. With NO release date in sight, no info from major stores, how can you still believe that it's coming out this year? Title: Re: An open letter to W. Axl Rose by his most loyal, hard-core fan Post by: 1badapple on November 15, 2006, 12:44:28 PM So, if it's coming out this year, when are they going to start pressing the cd's? How long does something like that even take (not too long i'm sure with today's technology)?
Once it goes to the manufacturing plant or whatever you want to call it, we'll hear something, atleast one would think we would. Unless they're going to do a strictly digital release at first. Title: Re: An open letter to W. Please send me 1 million dollars and let me sleep with your girlfriend. ?Thankyou (theres the exact same chance my open letter will be read and responded to by Axl as yours) Also for the people who say trust Axl. ?I like Axls music, but he isnt the pope. ?He says things all the time through management that have been proven false. ?There have been many years he has said "the album will beout this year." And the guy going to every store in a 25 mile radius is wasting his time money and energy. ?Its not going to be a surprise release in some dirthole record store in birmingham alabama. ?If there was a surprise release you would have a better chance of finding out first by refreshing this message board over and over again. ?We have had tons of leaks this year, thats more than we have ever had, just be happy with it and people should calm down. Hmmm.... who am I gonna trust? Axl Rose, or some downloading motherfucker who Del James says needs to get a life? Sorry dude, but I'm trust Axl Rose. The album will come out on one of the next six Tuesdays. If it doesn't, then that means Axl and Merck just lied about it to try and drum up a little publicity for Axl's second Chinese Democracy tour. It would mean that they intentionally lied to their loyal fans to try and grab a little extra cash. Sorry dude, that don't hold water. Plenty of huge albums are launched quietly, with no publicity and no official release date. I can't think of any off the top of my head, but there are tons. Your argument = shit. Title: Re: An open letter to W. Axl Rose by his most loyal, hard-core fan Post by: acompleteunknown on November 15, 2006, 01:49:40 PM they have only said twice that the album is coming out this year. Axl in march and merck this fall. That's all. The ones who keep repeating it's coming out are the people on this board. Bands have to change release dates ALL THE TIME! It's not their choice most of the time, many times, it's the label's choice. The label may decide that they don't want to release the album in December and push it to spring. Axl may still be mastering the album...heck, they could still be recording. Who knows?
Linkin Park said in April that their new album will definitely be coming out in fall. They are still recording and it will be out in the summer at the earliest. Modest Mouse's album is done and was slated for December...it was pushed until March. That's just the way of the game. Also, there's still 6 weeks left in the year. It could still be coming out...on January 1st, if there's still no announcement, then we have a right to question...but until then...be patient. Title: Re: An open letter to W. No way. ?Axl has an open forum with his fans by way of his concerts. ?Merck can talk to Jarmo. ?If the album wasn't coming out as they've said it would, don't you think they'd mention it to their fans? ?They have plenty of chances to do so and backtrack / clarify their early CONCRETE statements about when the album's coming out. ? If they knew it wasn't and intentionally kept their mouths shut, they'd be causing a lot of unnecessary pain and disappointment for their loyal fans. If the album wasn't coming out as planned, all Axl would have to do is grab the mic at one of his many shows and say, "Look, because of ____ reason, Chinese Democracy can't start on one of the next six Tuesdays. ?I know we promised it would, and I'm sure you're sick of the delays. ?Shit, nobody's sicker about it than I am. ?I'm a musician! ?Making music is my passion! ?My life! ?It really pains me that because of _____ I won't be able to deliver the great music that I'm so confident the world will love. ?But I swear to you on all that is good and holy, that the album will be coming out on/around ____." See how easy that would be? ?Then he'd head off any fan disappointment and hopefully ignite media interest in an official release date. ?But he's not doing that... and WHY? ?Because the album is coming out exactly as they've planned and promoted to their fans. ? SIMPLE. ?EASY. Title: Re: An open letter to W. While we've never heard an actual date at any point, I have no reason to feel otherwise.
However, if for some reason it really has been pushed back, even if it were only until January 2nd, 2007, the delay could be accepted by doing just one thing. And that would a simple explanation and/or a firm date from Axl or Merck, via here(since I'm sure that we're the largest fan speculators out there) would help smooth over any problems that would arise. Anything else, at least with me, is always taken with a grain of salt, ALWAYS. Title: Re: An open letter to W. Quote I assume this is your third day as a GNR fan, but its cool to have new fans and all. The fact is Axl and GNR management have never been forthcoming or honest to his fans. It has been 13 years dude and his explanations for why make no sense. The fact also remains that Axl and management have predicted the albums release many times and they all have been lies. Axl also claims to have nothing to do with the leaks, thats a lie. Im not sure if youre a fan of old gnr, but someone in some of those stories is lying, (for example did slash go to Axl's house or not). Axl is a rock musician, a reclusive one, he is not an all-knowing all-telling deity. The album isnt coming out this year, sorry people its true. It didnt come out last spring, or two winters either, it didnt come out in 2002 or 1999. Name an album that cost over 5 mil to make that was released with no publicity... you cant because one doesnt exist. Im not saying Axl intentionally lies, but the fact is a singular statement by axl promising the album on a vague release date is not gospel its not even believable. Im sure he wanted to get the album out this year, hell he might have written a note on a napkin to remind himself to finish the album, but its not happening. Itll be out sometime, my guess is spring 2007. oh and youre not kicked out of the GNR fanbase for not believing every word Axl states or doubting management strategy or for not believing the album will come out this year. That would make GnR like China and isnt Chinese Democracy in many ways about the problems such a society creates Title: Re: An open letter to W. however if he did /does I'd like to know: Is the record finished ? how many tracks are on the record ? what tracks are gonna be on the album ? have the band filmed a video for any of the singles ? why the secracy ? Why this cryptic "There are XX tuesdays left" ? why no promotion for the shows ? no one outside the band has any genuine answers to these question. It's an out of control rumour isn't it? Perhaps started by Merck's statement in RS magazine which has already been confirmed as sarcasm. Main Entry: sar?casm Pronunciation: 's?r-"ka-z&m Function: noun Etymology: French or Late Latin; French sarcasme, from Late Latin sarcasmos, from Greek sarkasmos, from sarkazein to tear flesh, bite the lips in rage, sneer, from sark-, sarx flesh; probably akin to Avestan thwar&s- to cut 1 : a sharp and often satirical or ironic utterance designed to cut or give pain 2 a : a mode of satirical wit depending for its effect on bitter, caustic, and often ironic language that is usually directed against an individual b : the use or language of sarcasm Title: Re: An open letter to W. There will be no release this year guys. Also I dont understand why people are rooting so hard for the album to come out now. We have tons of leaks and another world tour. Thats enough to keep me satisfied for a long while. Why not just be patient, let the album come out at a time when the management can properly promote it and possibly at a better time in Rock music to drop this CD. Its been over a decade in the making why rush the release date now because some douchebags on a message board want it in 2006. Its been 14 years or so you can all wait about another 6 months. Title: Re: An open letter to W. Axl Rose by his most loyal, hard-core fan Post by: TVC15 on November 16, 2006, 01:23:27 PM Dear Mr. Rose: First, on behalf of all GN'R fans who have seen this tour, WELCOME BACK! Thanks, A loyal and dedicated fan A message from Merck or Axl stating "Yes, it will still be released in 2006" will be enough for me. 8) Title: Re: An open letter to W. Axl Rose by his my loyal, hard-core fan Post by: EstrangedReality on November 17, 2006, 12:22:51 AM He already told you when it's coming out, dude... ONE OF THE NEXT SIX TUESDAYS. You have an interesting username. It's a tribute to CHRIS MOTHERFUCKIN' MOTHER GOOSE PITMAN!
Baddest motherfucker to ever rock the keys. Title: Re: An open letter to W. Axl Rose by his most loyal, hard-core fan Post by: GeraldFord on November 17, 2006, 12:46:22 AM Why hasn't anybody registered a new account pretending to be Axl to tell GeraldFord to fuck off and mind his own business? It must be unheard of. And why would someone do that? I didn't insult Axl or ask him to do anything that absurd. Why is it wrong to want to know when the album is coming out, since he said 2006 would be the year and the year is almost over. ?Your post is assinine and you'd make a good Nazi or Red-Baiter, just follow the company line and insult anyone that questions what's going on. Geez, you act like Axl's word is the gospel. I hope all of your assumptions( and they are just that, even though you treat them as fact ;)? ) turn out to be spot on. If they're not, you're gonna look like a giant ass. I wouldn't be the only one.? All the loyal Axl fans like me, Jarmo included.? If you want to put down Jarmo, go right ahead.? You'll be WIPED quicker than I can say, "I won't be told anymore..." But Axl would NEVER make an ass out of his loyal fans.? That's why he was very clear about when the album would be coming out.? We don't have to worry looking like asses because there's no way that Axl and the band would treat us that way. Am I the only one seriously disturbed by this guys [MotherGooseLuvR guy] posts? Like I just picture this guy having Axl Rose poster and candles all around it, and like around his family asking them you know where you are? in the jungle baby ya gonna die , shannanana knees knees. Honestly I mean the guy sounds very weird, and maybe needs a reality check? Yikes, and that was my 2nd post for 4 months... Title: Re: An open letter to W. Axl Rose by his most loyal, hard-core fan Post by: GeraldFord on November 17, 2006, 12:50:56 AM Here is the bottom line, Axl said at the VMAs that 2006 would be the year and it looks like that is NOT going to be the case. What's holding up the release? That's all I am asking. And as I said in my open letter, if 2006 isn't the year, that's okay, we still support the band...However, we'd like to know what's up?
Title: Re: An open letter to W. Axl Rose by his most loyal, hard-core fan Post by: ben9785 on November 17, 2006, 12:55:08 AM Gerald, that was a good post man. The thing is I myself have tried to post about this and bring it up, and bring it to the attention of moderators here via PM but I don't think they care to answer
I too for a while have merely sought answers to these very general questions that simply require a yes or no answer that will satisfy fan's concerns whilst allowing GNR & their management to maintain their cover over the album: -Is the album still on schedule for release before the end of 2006? -Are there ANY factors or issues that may (if they haven't already) push back the release of the album, possibly after the INFORMAL 'deadline' -If the album is not going to come out as anticipated, will we be told anything? He runs EATMYSILKWORMS, the #1 Chris Pitman fansite on the Internet. http://www.eatmysilkworms.tk He has a Chris Pitman shrine in his bedroom. Yep, a bit of an oddball, that one. I know him through MyGNR. I'm also one of the contributors to that site. I wrote the Silkworms essay. Title: Re: An open letter to W.
