 This from Entertainment Weekly dated NOV 17, 2006. It is a short Chronology of the last decade.
1.? July 1996-almost 5 years after Use your illusions a spokesperson from Geffen informs the New York Daily News that "
Its possible to have a Gun's record out by end of the year"
2. Dec 1999- It is reported that the bands album titled "Chinese Democracry" is "loosely scheduled for a summer 2000 release"
3. Dec? 2000- While appearing on KROQ Doug Goldstein says while a release date as not been determined C.D could be on shelves as early as June.
4. March 2003- a posting on Gun's official website tantalizes fans with instructions that they should "Stay tuned for news and information on C.D coming soon"
5. Aug 2004- Tommy Stinson reveals to Karrang that C.D is " a Hairs breadth from beign finished"
6. Feb 2006- Merck Mercuriadis tells E.W that Axl Roses is" almost finished and he's confident it will come out this year"
7. Oct 2006- Merck reportedly says that there are 10 tuesdays left before Jan. and that C.D "will come out on one of them"
8. Nov 2006- EW contacts the office of Mercuriadis to confirm whether C.D is still coming this year, Merck is unavailable for comment

Well, the press/media is giving the cd hype already, SO PUT THE FUCKING CD OUT!

Does Merck even have an office to contact?  I thought he parted ways with Sanctuary?

Is Merck on the road with GnR? If so, that may explain why he was unavailable to comment. I do wonder if something has happened though, and maybe that's why we can't discuss the "there's 10 tuesdays left" article. ?

 The opening line to article is" The latest word from the Gun's & Roses camp is that the release of the band's long awaited C.D is just around the corner. Hoorah! but then that's what they said in 2005. and 2004 and..

Number 8 does concern me as well.  Even though "he is on tour".  He could've returned the call. 

I agree, it does not come across as a positive article but it does sum up the last decade.

Well, maybe it's not coming out this year. Maybe that's why talk of the "10 tuesdays left" article was silenced. Maybe something changed between the time Merck said that and when the article was released.

There's now 6 Tuesdays left. Things ain't looking too promising, but i'm trying to remain hopeful. I still think 12-26 is a strong possibility.

If it doesn't come out this year, i hope the GnR camp is ready for the backlash. Jarmo might get busy deleting bash threads.

 Hope C.D does come out this year. Its Nov. 15 and not a word yet from management on a release date.  It makes you wonder.

Seriously, you guys need to chill!  Merck said it was coming out this year.  Axl said it was coming out this year.  We've still got six Tuesdays for the album to be shipped, promoted and released.  That's PLENTY of time. 

Once it's 2007, you guys can bitch all you want.  But for now, Merck/Axl's word is GOSPEL.  The album WILL come out in the next six weeks because they SWORE it would.  You have nothing to fear.  They wouldn't lie to our faces and still expect us to be fans.

Here's how I see it. We all know that November 21st is said to be the day, but that article in Rolling Stone was taken down. So November 21st begins the countdown. From that date, there is like 5 or 6 tuesday's left in the year and we'll just have to be patient.

Now if the album doesn't see the light of day by the end of 2006? Well then...that's a whole other animal.

As for the EW chronology. Press, be it negative or positive, is always a good thing for a band like GNR
