I keep saying that one way to get people to not be so pissed and booing is to have a camera go around on the fans before hand. It will entertain for a little while at least.

I remember them doing it in either birmingham or nottingham. But there were plenty of boobs with the suicide girls in baltimore.

I am gonna sound like a total fag but i dont like boob cams, I think its cheesy, corny and belittles women and makes them have to feel self concious and insecure about going to a concert.

Concerts are suppose to be fun, bands who have to rely on tits to get them over with the crowd are lame.

i went to a motley concert and seeing the amount of peer pressure put on these ladies to show their tits was unexcusable, I actually havent listened to motley very much since as I was totally turned off.

Plus who's to say some of these ladies arent underage.............

I say let your music do the entertaining and leave the boob cams out of the set.

Thank you for this post, it was very lovely. I wish more people thought along the same lines as this.

D,

I totally agree with you, it is predictable and makes me feel like in order to be a GNR fan I have to buy into the whole misogynistic attitude, which is just down right lame and sad.

I was so happy that at MSG the cameras didnt do that stuff, I was with my girlfriend and it would have sucked. Nothing is more crappy than having a scared little 17 year old girl show off her breasts to a bunch of 40year old drunken rednecks cheering her on.

Let the music do the talking.

They did it for the best part of an hour at Manchester. The screens weren't on, but they used the guys on the wires in the sky to put a spotlight on the chicks with their mamary glands exposed.

A chick in her late 40's from the look of her started it :-X :-\

But then all the young chicks didn't want to be upstaged :peace:

I didn't see any at Inalnd Invasion which is a show I'd expected to see some breasts.  Not at the Hard Rock gigs either but I wouldn't expect it in such a small club. ???

If women feel the need to expose themselves at concerts, then go for it!
It's just a step too far when pressure is put onto them to do so.

Hit the nail on the end. Though I do think the whole concept is....kind of pathetic. Why not pay professionals to remove their clothes onstage? Oh wait....excellent!  :peace:

err, arent the woman doing the boob showing, if anything they are belittling themselves. Remember they have their own choice to show their boobs.  And all the women Ive went to shows with find them funny, whether they show thier boobs or not, they definetly dont feel insecure.  But there is definetly 2 reasonable sides to this argument and I understand your point. Maybe objectify would have been a better word than belittle.

Im sure there are some poor misguided women who feel important by exposing themselves but i saw tons of women be pressured and hackled and just embarrassed and that wasnt cool at all.

If u want to see boobs get a gf,go to a strip club or rent a porno

I dont watch pro wrestling for the divas and I dont go to concerts to see tits.

come on, its part of rock and roll, always has been and always will be, people get pressured to do shit all the time, when people start being belligerent assholes is when its not cool, but I thinks its funny to scream "show us your tits", its kind of a tradition for rock and roll.

While I agree they did hassle fans a bit too much I find it funny you've mostly stopped listening to them because of it. Yet you listen ton GNR , what haven't they done. Maybe'll axl will see a girl bootlegging a show and beat the shit out of her!  :hihi:

If you're a prude, avoid GNR (or at least avoid Rocket Queen ).
If the girls want to flash, more power to em for keeping the rest of us entertained. I guess that was the idea behind Suicide Girls.

Although I don't respect anyone pressuring them, but as long as it's all in fun, go for it. I would if I could (but being I'm a guy... can't help there :P).

I find it interesting that you think it's offensive for a women to show her breasts but have no problem saying "fag." Isn't that a belittling term for homosexuals?

I don't agree 100%, but on a similar note;

I remember MSG 1991, sitting right next to a ten year old and his dad, and the boobs were on the big screen. I felt so uncomfortable. Then again, this might be the answer :)

If you read all his posts in this thread you'll clearly see that his point wasn't that women were belittling themselves by volunteering to show their breasts. It was that women shouldn't be pressured into doing so and that singling out random women with the expectation of having them show their breasts, backed by an arena full of cheering, heckling, taunting men urging them on is just that, pressure. And that's belittling to women.

thank u

this is exactly what i was saying.

If girls volunteer and want to show their tits that is great but i hate when they keep a camera on a girl and get the crowd to cheer and they keep on and on and on.

I didnt stop listening to motley only cause of that but I admit that was pretty lame

If Axl held a cam between songs and pressured women to show their tits i would certainly think less of him as he seems like a deep, real spiritual kind of guy in his songs, so if he stooped to that kind of juvenile behavior id lose some respect for him.

I suggest you listen to It's So Easy, Anything Goes, One In A Million, You Ain't The First, Back Off Bitch, Pretty Tied Up, Locomotive, and Silkworms. Then get back to me on Axl's sensitivity towards women.   :)

Plus, I can't ever remember conservatively dressed women having the camera focused on them. They video the women who are already half naked anyway. The whole, "Oh, hee, hee, I better not!" they do is just so they won't look like total whores.

most of those songs are to get back on women that hurt him

and don't quote the songs because they're just that, songs. if we should judge a man by the lyrics in the song we'd have a lot of frontmen behind bars

It does put us under pressure, and then if we don't flash, we are prudes, but if we do, we are total whores. And dont get me wrong: I'm all up for a bit of healthy fun, but if they have to do it, I would prefer them to get some professionals than to see the humilliation I have seen on some girls' faces

well spoken.

Alcohol and boobs is what you do after the concert.

during its only rock n roll.
