Well, they do have some club shows before then listed on Ticketmaster. ?It doesn't give a description or anything of what they do at that shows. ?The only CD I could find was a sort of soundtrack with a bunch of other people performing (NIN & Ministry). ?This is a little odd...it's weirder than MixMasterMike, in my opinion.

I saw this on their last tour, they put on quite a show.  it's not pornography, it's like classic old school burlesque with a modern punk rock twist.  really neat.  this is an excellent fucking opening act.

Maybe they are doing something between acts, so people do not get all mad at GNR for not starting til late?

You can access them on the website, and they have some 30 second clips there for free. Not all the girls do them. But they do have sex videos on thier site. I know a couple of the girls personally, I stood for one of them at thier wedding. I am going to see Borat with her and my wife tonight.

Let's say there were no opening bands for this tour. ?No Papa Roach, no Baz, no Suicide Girls. ?Would you still go? ?Would you still pay the regular price for the tickets knowing that all you're getting was GNR? ?I would. ?Getting a free girlie show is a bonus, in my book. ?I'm sorry, but I get a little suspicious of people who find out they are going to be seeing half-naked women and the first thing they do is complain.

If you notice the second link I gave is to their photo gallery, it is hard to find on the site but has 80 photos. The videos are even harder to find.

I'll ask again, anyone think it'll still be an all-ages show? ?I know that there are a lot of people who'll be going to the show who are younger than 18. ?Would the Suicide Girls be appropriate for them to go and see? ?I mean, if I was a parent of a 14 year old, I'd be pissed that I got him expensive concert tickets that he wouldn't be able to use, if it isn't still an all-ages show.

Meanwhile, if it is an all-ages show, the Suicide Girls would have to tone down their show a little bit, wouldn't they?

in fact the announcement before tickets went on sale stated that there were gonna be 2 acts before gnr....it helped me swallow the $100 ticket prices...same when i saw megadeth got to see like 5 bands on gigantour...most of which i never knew of before so it was cool to broaden my horizons a bit musically...this aint gonna do much other than seeing some boobs with tape on them for an hour or so..yay

like i said it's a rock concert....seeing rock bands there is my preference....if i wanted to pay to see naked women there are places to go for that already and it's not a guns n roses concert

Exactly: burlesque. ?Comic theatre with a little bit of skin thrown in. ?To say that the Suicide Girls are simply a sex act is like saying that Shakira's belly dancing is simply a sex act (it is not, it is a cultural thing).

I can see some parents getting PO'ed, but their kids shouldn't be seeing anything different from what they see on MTV or in movies (or in middle and high schools, the way kids dress these days ?:hihi:). ?These concerts have been being sold as all-ages; they can't be changed now. ?Parents who have problems letting their kids see the beauty of the human body (but meanwhile probably let their kids watch movies and play video games where people get killed left and right) should take their kids out on the concourse during this particular act.

Cliche? ?Cliche would have been to get someone like Buckcherry or some other band that think they're in the 80s... Suicide Girls are a good move. ?That's much more arty than whatever lame band they could have chose.

It's cool man.  I'm a bit let down as well.  It would have been cool for GN'R to get another semi-big band to play with them.  It will be interesting though and who knows, we may enjoy it.

Burlesque is much more than porn. ?Theres one hell of a lot less nakedness and infinately more performance and entertainment value thrown in instead. ?Its bascially a theater/dance performance.

A lot of parents would probably consider it inappropriate for their kids, but then I'd think those people would consider a normal GNR gig to be inappropriate anyway. ?Both shows I went to there were girls flashing the cameras, and audience. ?At Download I even saw a few naked people walking around the campsite.
And on top of that did someone forget that a lot of GNR songs are about sex and drugs? ?Not exactly child friendly.

Oh and to whoever complained that the Suicide Girls claim to be feminists and clearly aren't the feminist part is in the buisness side of things. ?Its entirely up to the girls what they do, unlike most modelling/talent agencies where they're told what to do and get fired if they don't like it.

actaully, i've been to see SG before and there were A LOT of women in the crowd.  maybe your girlfriend will enjoy the show.  talk it up, and explain to her what it's about so that she has an open mind when she goes.  i'm sure she'll enjoy it.

I paid 75 bucks to see Guns N' Roses.  I didn't much care who was opening at first.  I heard it was Sebastien Bach, but he couldn't make it.  I was a bit dissapointed.  Then I heard it could have been Papa Roach.  Im more than exstatic that its not.  Suicide Girls are definitely gonna entertain.   I'd sooner see them perform anyday over Papa Roach.

I say give them a chance and then decided for yourselves if you'd like to stay for their entire set. ?If not, then simply use that time to visit the merch booths, use the restrooms, or whatever you'd like to do until they're finished.

Granted, I've never seen any of their shows/performances, but I have heard of them and I'm actually a bit curious as to what kind of performance they'd create for this tour. ?

If they're not my cup of tea, I'll leave and return when they're done... it's that simple.

This is a different situation. I WANT to see GnR, I WANT to see Bach. I'm not a fan of a lot of the other opening acts GnR has used in this tour or the last so I'd prefer some eye candy than shite music.

Ok first I have no issue with this desision just bringing up the point that some parents will be upset by this.  Yes most parents have no fuckin clue what teenagers are into these days.  I was thinking more about those who might bring younger kids like 10-12 more then teenagers.  Any 13 year old who has access to the net as seen far more then what these ladies will be showing. 

Also I think it fits in great with the whole GnR theme of party until early morning theme that GnR is going for on this tour THEY ARE BRINGING ROCK SHOWS BACK TO WHAT THEY SHOULD BE.

This is pretty much the weirdest move in the new GNR playbook. I can't decide whether it's ingenious or insane. GNR do have a history with naked bosoms though, so it's not totally out of left-field. They're releasing an album, not running for office. Flavor Flav has his own show, I don't see him selling out any arenas or having a hit album without the much less mainstream Chuck D fronting for him. GNR need a successful album, and no amount of naked flesh will help them to achieve that. I mean, the cover of Electric Ladyland was great and all but  the it was the music that sold copies and put asses in seats. I think adding a burlesque show to their live bill has great entertainment possibilities, but if jiggling boobs could cement your place in music history they'd be touring titty bars. 

You think the press will paraise the band for having a strip show open for them? It'll be the opposite. Every paper will talk about how little power and class the name GN'R now holds because they couldn't even find a BAND to open for them and they resorted to a strip act.

My two favorite bands are GNR and the Beastie Boys.  I saw the Beastie Boys with Mixmaster Mike, and he was just AMAZING!  He wasn't simply playing records as background music; he was using the turntables as an instrument, scratching like crazy and creating his own beats on the fly.  That has to be at least as hard as playing a guitar.  (I've tried to do both and failed miserably.  LOL.)

I highly doubt that will be the case.  This tour has been "all ages" all along; to change that now would cause a huge backlash that neither GNR, TicketMaster, nor the venues themselves would want to deal with.  Most likely is that the Suicide Girls (who do get completely naked in videos and at small, 18+ venues) will keep just enough clothing on for a PG-13 rating.

But then what are we left with...the music?

Well, this changes plans a bit.  I'm going to the Toronto show with 14 friends, most of them dudes, and most of them celebrating my buddy's birthday.  We were planning on showing up the pre-show party at the Armadillo at 6:00 and drinkin' till 10:30 as none of us had any interest in seeing Baz and whatever band is openning.  As I said, we might change things up now :)

Looks like GN'R has a fun-filled night planned for us.  No need to complain or pick apart every little detail of the tour...  You can never please everyone with an opening act, they are just something to pass the time while everyone gets drunk and finds their seat before the band on the ticket.  It's just as likely GN'R would pick a band you have no interest in seeing....

As it happens... I work in the porn industry.  I like porn.  But before the porn industry I liked porn too.  AND... not only that... but my girlfriend likes and always liked porn.

People who enjoy watching sex aren't deprived... my girlfriend and I have an amazing sex life... VERY active, energetic, and adventurous.  So we're hardly deprived.  If you ask me... it's the people who slag off GnR for having Suicide girls (which I'm sorry... get a fucking clue... it's not porn by any stretch of the imagination... it's erotica... completely different) and the people who think porn is bad are the deprived ones.

GnR made a good ... a VERY good choice having the Suicide Girls open for them.  I am almost 100% sure that there will be not one single moment of nudity.  They'll just do burlesque dancing etc with rock music behind them I suspect.  It wont be about porn.  It's like ... The Pussycat Dolls.  You know they weren't singers til recently.  They are a dance troupe and thats what I expect of the GnR opening from SG.

SG is totally mainstream and I think Axl has a glimmer of genius having them on stage.  I guarantee that most of the girls here slagging them off would be impressed by the show.

 Personally I'm not a fan of tattooed chicks. I went out with one who had a big ugly tattoo. Total turnoff. Maybe if she was hot it would have been better. Suicide Girls don't seem all that hot either. They are Ok... but nobody I'm jumping up and down for. Throw a few girls in there that look like Pam Anderson and Jenny McCarthy and then I'll get excited.  : ok:

The Suicide Girls performed at Download just after the GNR set.  They put on a fab show! It's not porn! It's Burlesque striptease... it's an art-form it's, sexy but not sex. Set to a rock soundtrack such as AC/DC,GNR ect .  This is a great move i think on Axl's part it's something different from the usual boring unknown band - it's still Rock N' Roll! and i dont think u have to be a guy to appriciate the show either.  In the words of Monty Python ....You lucky lucky barstards!

 Well I went out with a girl once who seemed a little to offended by peoples homosexuality. She was overly uncomfortable with it to the point that she couldn't even watch a funny comedy bit of Richards Simmons on TV. She had to keep turning her head so as to not watch some implied sexuality. I found that rather strange since nothing graphic was even on the screen. It was a Comedy program. I really do think certain people have weird sexual hangups. It's kind of sad when you think about it.

My girlfriend is very interested in this act, she was not looking forward to going to the concert, and now she is excited for tommorow's show in baltimore. She loves burlesque and pin-up stuff, and even had a few photos done pin-up style. And for the record, no she is not emo or goth, she's actually a cheerleader at her college, so I think our female guests may like this more than some of you may think.

This is great news.  I want to see Sebastian but was not looking forward to sitting through the SG. : ok:

This is a horrible decision.  Youre right its a rock show, people want to hear and see rock music.  I mean seriously if i want to see strippers or porn ill go to a strip club before the show and come to the arena at 10:30.  I want to hear music.  i dont really like papa roach but i wouldnt mind seeing them live at least they are musicians.  I guess I like rock music not strippers.  Im not into bondage or tattoos on girls, lesbianism doesnt really get me off.  The shameful thing is there are so many good bands out there that could really use the exposure opening for GNR would give them, not to mention the fact that people in these bands are huge GNR fans.  Axl and management blew it on this one,you want strippers, have them strip during your set,  its a rock concert, i want rock music, i dont want a mixmaster, i dont want strippers.  I love gnr and bach and will go see them, but SG will not bring in more fans, it will not get the crowd more into the music (it might get some horny, which is nice since theyll have to wait around in a crowded, cramped, hot arena.  Being in an arena with a bunch of sweaty drunk perverts who just saw a strip show doesnt sound too fun to me.  And you can say " Oh this is rock n roll" theres always been strippers.  yeah, but back in the day bands didnt have to give them an opening slot to get with them.  Axl's in his 40's this is childish.  Im sorry if youre a fan of burlesque and stuff like that, but there are many opportunities to go to burlesque shows, im already having to work ahead in law school to take 2 days off to go see GNR, i get to go see abotu 1 concert a month now, and i was hoping theyd pick up a good rock band,  this is a joke.

The Suicide Girls are not a "nudie" show.  They are a "burlesque" show: comic theatre with a little bit of skin thrown in.

My friend, who is a big fan of the Suicide Girls, tried to drag me out to see them at a small club in Baltimore on October 24th, but I was not up for going out that night.

He told me that they did get naked that night (more specifically, that they all had pasties on, but that some of them took their panties off).

This was at a <repeat> SMALL CLUB -- with at least an 18-and-over, if not a 21-and-over, check-ID's-at-the-door policy.

Because the GNR shows have been sold as "all-ages" shows, I'm sure the Suicide Girls will keep their panties (and pasties) on.  To do otherwise would be unfair to anyone under 18 who has already purchased tickets, as well as cause a big stink for GNR, TicketMaster, and the individual venues.

While I understand that some people would rather see another band instead of this type of act, I for one am pretty excited about it.  I paid my $75 (well, actually, $92.90, thanks to TicketBastard) to see GNR.  To me, anything else is a bonus.

I've seen bands that look and sound like Papa Roach already.  I've also been to strip clubs.  This is different.  I for one am happy I will be getting to see this, although I realize not everyone else is.  No matter who GNR chooses as an opening act, not everyone is going to like them.

BTW, my friend said to watch for the girl who does the act with the glow-in-the-dark hula hoops.  He says it is not to be missed.

That being said, here comes my first gripe:? there was little variation of races and body types on display.? With over a thousand phillies in the SG stable, one would expect to see some tig ol? bitties, some hot chocolate, some BBW, some yellow fever.? Such diversity is central to the ?spirit? of a burlesque show, yet it was completely absent here.? Don?t blame the girls, blame the producers.

Still, the girls put on a good show that was fun and diverse in theme.? Pasties and pulldowns kept the show within city ordinances, and in my opinion clean enough for even the surprisingly many 13-year-old-ish kids in attendance, although many of their hover-parents were feverishly ushering their pwecious wittow munchkins out to the snack bar or merch booths even though they had just come from there.? They wouldn?t bother if they knew what little Trevor saw on the intarweb yesterday in his own room.

Baltimore was the girls? first show opening for GNR and they were admittedly awed by the sheer size of an arena audience.? ?There were a few slips or prop-related gaffes, but nothing major - a great job under what must?ve been immense pressure.?

The best element to the show (after the hotness of course) was the varied music and theme of each skit.? Songs ran the gamut from techno to speed metal, and themes changed with every scene, although the mood never wavered from the show?s requisite perky fun.? The most interesting awards go to a two-girl reenactment of the Mr. Blonde ?Ear? scene in Reservoir Dogs and to a fun Jamiroquai laced gender-bender.

The worst I can say about this show is that there was little talent on display: some good dance moves / choreography, some fun with props, and a melting-hot run with a hula-hoop were all the producers could muster.? Couple that with the complete absence of set design and lighting, and the show comes off to many in the audience as 'cheap' or 'time filler', and flips the ?off? switch for women.? The Guns n? Roses set oozes polish and professionalism, replete with video backdrops, and shiny guitars that cost more than a mid-size car.? Bach and his band already provide a more street-style atmosphere.? Having moved-on-up from clubs to arenas, the SG show should have scaled accordingly.? Performing in front of Sebastian Bach?s drum kit cheapens the SG image immensely.?

The lovely Suicide Girls put on a good show that could be a great show, if it weren?t held back by shortfalls in production.? Most of the GNR crowd will enjoy the curvy lines and T&A without concern for set design, diversity, or showgirlship, but in a strive for perfection, or for the interest of a female audience, the braintrust behind Suicide Girls can to better than this.

Still, this beats Papa Roach by a mile or three?

Having seen the girls twice on this tour - they did a fine job.

The girls are dancing around for 30 minutes helping us get over the wait. They've got some good song selections, and the hula-hoop is cool.
