Honestly. The man is a champion. He was so great at the garden. He was so into it clapping for everyones solo. Chatting with Axl. Having fun. The guns n roses chant on his bass drum. He is so great and im so happy I got to see him. We salute you Frank Ferrer.  :peace:

I agree.  He actually seems to want to be in the band as well.  I don't get that vibe from Brain.

I was very impressed with Frank after seeing him at the Ft. Myers Fl. show. Very enthusiatic and an excellent drummer. I never really understood the critical comments people make about Sorum, but after seeing Frank I get the "no feeling" cracks now, the man plays with feeling.

I think Frank Ferrer suits better in guns than brain .... frank is more a rock n roll drummer .....

I've never seen him yet. I hope to see him soon if/when the band goes back to Europe. I think he looks like Abe Laboriel on drums. Huge punchy guy. I don't know if he is as good as Laboriel though, because this guy is a master on drums. Anyway, among all the drummers I have ever seen, my top drummer list would be this one:

1) Abe Laboriel
2) Zack from Oasis
3) Brain

I saw Matt Sorum but he didn't impress me. Maybe next time Franck will enter in my Top 3. I just need to see him play. :peace:

Yeah Frank is cool! He was on his game for MSG! He looked like he was pumped for the show!

My top three is:

1. Matt Cameron (Pearl Jam, soundgarden)
2. Frank Ferrer (I have seen him live, and it was GREAT)
3. Dave Grohl/Lars Ulrich

Not a time to mention my top 3 are Joey Jordison, Danny Carey and the guy from Lacuna Coil, then. :hihi:

But for GN'R, Frank is great.  It was a smart move choosing a guy who's already worked with both Richard and Tommy - means the rhythm section stayed tight because they didn't have to adjust to each others styles.

I wouldn't mind if Frank stayed.

frank does rock  8)    haven't gotten to see him yet, everytime its been Brain.. but looking forward to it.  he does look like he wants to be in this band more than Brain and he seems to have better chemistry with Robin and Richard and the rest.

And when Frank leaves and is replaced by Brain again once the tour is over, everyone is going to start saying how they liked Brian better.

Just kidding. But what CDs has Frank worked on that I can listen to in order to form an opinion? Does he have a resume? I hadn't heard of him before.

I cant belive anyone thinks Frank is better or better suited for this band than Brain. Brain is amazing, frank is just decent.

Brain has always been my favourite drummer, imo, noone is better and he is the coolest guy...

Frank is his understudy, so what do you expect? : ok:

For the Meadowlands show, the crowd was a little quite and Frank was really pumping everyone up. He's a fucking cool cat and I'm excited he's playing with guns.

Frank is indeed a great drummer. But I dunno, I still like Brain better.... When I saw GNR live, he was still on drums and I thought he nailed those songs. Completely changed my opinion on him (c'mon, he sucked badly in 2001).

I LOVE FRANCK FERRER. When i saw him live @ Wembley ... it was a blast.

I saw brain @ Paris a i just never took a look at him.. this guy is a ghost on stage.

Brownstoner, you are severe with Brain. I thought he was great in Paris. You compare with the London show, but you know as much as me the general athmospher in the audience was much, much better in London than in Paris. Maybe your judgement is influenced by the general athmosphere? (this is a question).

i was at the MSG show and i have to say this guy was pretty fucking cool. you could tell he was having the time of his life behind the kit. he was having a blast, ?a real class act. i always liked Brain but this guy is great.

I would say that there is more feeling in Frank's play, but Brain is an excellent technical drummer.

Still my favourite drummer is a 4-year old Igor Falecki - pure genius? ;D

frank does seem to be a cool guy.  i was impressed by him at msg, but i think the sound where i was sitting wasn't the best, which made everyone blend together in a weird way...couldn't really decipher him that much, but from what i could tell he was spot on.

That would be Brain.

Frank is great as far as intangibles (energy, chemistry, etc...), but on all the DVD's I've seen, as well as the MSG show, I felt like he was hitting a bit light and his cymbal hi-hat work is a bit sloppy at times...Still, great guy, great for the band; just an opinion.

And yes, from where Scar2d2w and I were sitting in section 204, the sound was heavily muffled and everything sounded muddy, so it's hard to say specifically for MSG.

I'm not one to really critique drummers, so I can't really speak to how good he is in that respect. But I can say that I absolutely love his energy and love for GNR.  Like I've said before, he's basically a rabid GNR fan who gets to play drums with them lol.  He enjoys the show just as much as the rest of us!   :yes:

Brain is still one of the top 3 drummers out there.  I miss him being in the band, but Frank does give a HUGE push to the bands intensity level.  Welcome to the band.

Ferrer is decent, Brain is quality. Of course, I've seen neither live. But they are both great in my book of drums. Of course, they're no Keith Moon.

yea he was really fucking cool at the end of songs getting a gnr chant going. getting people into the show but brain was awsome to when i saw him at hammerstien. dont know who is beter.

I doubt it. They're saying he will, but I think Frank is the perminate replacement. Why keep a drummer with other priorities (full granted mind you, not saying they aren't), when you've got a fully capable replacement who's ready to go?

It isn't like Brain is Izzy or anything. I doubt he's gonna be a special guest or something.

A funny detail, Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frank_Ferrer) mentions he played some shows on Tommy's Village Gorilla Head tour in 2004, apparently guesting alongside Fortus. If true, he's basically been around GNR a bit longer than most of us have come to believe.

VERY good choices man, Abe Laboriel Jr is a killer drummer, he plays with lots of passion, strenght and intensity. McCartney's band sounds very much fresher with him. I always wanted Abe Laboriel in Guns N' Roses. He would be the definitive drummer. He rocks serious asses.

hmm, dunno wich of the 2 i like the best, haven't seen both, but of what i've seen frank seems more like one of the guys in the bands and for some reason more relaxed, he also has a more kickass drumming style compared to brains more funky groovy style, i think for some reason i think brain seem more tense or something, frank looks like he has the time of his life behind the drums to brain it looks like it's just another job or something, i don't think it is like that, but anyway,

judging from all this i think i like frank more even though maybe brani is a beter skilled drummer, to me it's more important how the drummer performs live so i say frank is my favourite :love: : ok:

I like Franks, I've said it before he looks alive, gives more heart and soul, stage appearance is very strong, Great! Sometimes you've got to go with the flow, And Frank is flowing as if he was ment to be.
 I'd keep Frank over all, he looks like he works alot better with Tommy AND,,, Axl..  :peace:

I don't think Axl is dumb enough to just have a "decent" drummer in this band. There are many GREAT drummers out there, so why would he settle for someone that's just "decent"??  He wouldn't. 

I like Frank a lot and I do KNOW that he wants to be in this band more than Brain does. It's great to see a guy that's having fun night in and night out with the band and the crowd.  He REALLY does want to be here.  I think Brain will be back for the new tour or at least some of it.  I have a feeling that we're going to be seeing a little bit of both of these guys in the future.

Josh Freese is probably the best drummer I have ever seen live by the way. I saw him play with APC and he had a broken foot and I never took my eyes off the guy. He was outstanding and if GN'R could get that guy back(I know it won't happen, believe me), then they probably really would be the most talented OVERALL band in the world. I hope Freese gets at least one song on CD, although I don't see that happening considering he's been gone for 7 or so years.

i prefer Frank over Brain... Brain is probably better technically, but he's also (IMO) too-soft for the GNR... kinda like funky, hip-hop, jazzy style.... While Frankie is hammering the shit outta snare !!! :D

Well, it's all subjective... but I've seen both Frank & Brain in concert (with GNR) and I personally prefer... Frank.? ?:yes:

Yes, I do get the impression that when it comes to technique... Brain is probably the "better" drummer.

However, when it come to emotion and power... I'd have to say that Frank is the man.

Also, there just seems to be a certain presence surrounding Frank.? For me, he feels more like a member of the band and a better fit for GNR.

Just my opinion on the subject.? :peace:

Frank seems to have more fun on-stage and he also play a bit harder, I don't like him more, but I can see why some would.

Frank is awesome! I'm quite content that he's in the band!

True....IRS was one of the highlights at the Everett, WA show especially the part right after Bumble's solo when Frank comes in real hard on the drums.  Robin was up on the riser in front of him and banging his head and killing his guitar.  I loved it.

There's a lot to be said for seeing real enthusiasm up on stage...

hahahaha, this is ridiculous.... anyway, seems he plays well, but then again GN'R songs are not so hard on the drums, i like Brain better, it feels like whoeverplays in gn'r is good, it is not necessarily like that you know???

Frank totally won me over at the 12-19-06 show.  I have to admit the reason I originally bought tickets was to see Axl and Brain because I've seen Brain play club gigs with Buckethead and wanted to see Brain play with GNR live.  At first I was bummed when I heard about the replacement but after seeing the show I think Frank is perfect for the band.  He did seem very happy and enthusiastic to be playing with GNR.  He also looks pretty tough and has that kind of stocky Matt Sorum look.  Plus Frank can really hit those drums.  Hate to say it but not once did I even think about Brain during that show. 

He's a great drummer  :peace:

Exactly. It seems that the 1998-2006 journey has finally come to an end.

I believe we've been able to witness the rebirth of a band, right infront of us. We've seen every step of its creation, and the variations that led us to this :

Axl + Tommy + Robin + Dizzy + Richard + Ron + Frank + Chris

This should be GN'R for the (many) years to come.

As much as I do like Brain, I have to admit, I would be really sad if this turned out to be the end of the road for Guns' and Frank.. :-\

Since Brain took this tour off to be with his newborn child, maybe he'll wanna take more time off indefinately, allowing Frank to maintain his position amongst Guns'.

In anycase, perhaps Brain could become Frank's understudy, until Frank has a kid or needs a rest from life on the road :)

No one has heard that he's left, so Im sure he'll be returning at some undisclosed date.

let's hope he comes back and we get some word on his return. i felt it was wrong of the band to start the tour without telling the fans that frank was on drums...

I'm not picking any favorites so I'll just say, they're both very talented drummers, and I'd be happy if either was the permanent drummer. I do think GNR should give us a heads up on the current situation though, it's not fair to just say "they're both in the band"....there's something they're not telling us.

Anyway, yeah....they both kick major ass. Frank played like a beast at the 2 gigs I saw.
