Title: Perfect Cime Post by: moridorr on November 10, 2006, 03:38:57 PM If you wat them to play Perfect Crime try starting a Perfect crime chat at the show tonight. MSG with thousands of fans screaming "Pefect Crime, Perfect Crime" might just get em to play it. Just a thought
Title: Re: Perfect Cime Post by: philspectorshotme on November 10, 2006, 03:40:54 PM why would anyone want to hear perfect crime? ::)
its a nice plan though (there are fans who have come together to petition bands to play songs in past, unveiling banners and the like) but it'd be better served for a new song, no? Title: Re: Perfect Cime Post by: polluxlm on November 10, 2006, 03:41:17 PM I'm sure the casual fans would want to join in on a chant for a song they A: Don't know about B: Don't care about.
PC will be played when it will be played. Title: Re: Perfect Cime Post by: COMAMOTIVE on November 10, 2006, 03:42:39 PM Perfect Crime is one of my favs - so If I hear the chant, I'll join in
Let's get serious though - This ain't happening Title: Re: Perfect Cime Post by: guns_n_motley on November 10, 2006, 03:45:24 PM or get everyone chanting for a new song like if the world or prostitute : ok:
Title: Re: Perfect Cime Post by: ibelieveinaxl on November 10, 2006, 03:52:47 PM bc its a great f'n song
Title: Re: Perfect Cime Post by: Agno on November 10, 2006, 03:54:41 PM Chant for the song! I would do it alone if I were able to be there! :D
Title: Re: Perfect Cime Post by: GunsN'Gravy on November 10, 2006, 03:57:54 PM Chant "SLITHER", "SLITHER". See if Axl laughs ,cries or has a hissy fit and throws a bottle of Jagermeister at you.
Title: Re: Perfect Cime Post by: W 23 AXL II on November 10, 2006, 03:58:08 PM i would LOVE to hear OMG as well. i think OMG is a GREAT song!
looking foward to Better, Fortus' solo, Nightrain, SCOM, Chinese Democracy, PC, the outro of the Blues, Madagascar, Jungle. would love for them to surprise everyone and open with Nightrain. but i know what everyone is going to say, you GOTTA start with Jungle. Title: Re: Perfect Cime Post by: Randy Jesus on November 10, 2006, 03:59:24 PM Better yet... Chant Catcher in the Rye!!!!
Title: Re: Perfect Cime Post by: Lucky on November 10, 2006, 04:03:48 PM you might as well wear "I'm an idiot" T-shirt.
the effect would be the same. there's 15 people from this forum that's gonna be at the show. do you really expect 15 people to get 20000 to chant for the same song. and even if 20000 were to do a chant, they'd probably chant for Dont Cry, or Civil war. Title: Re: Perfect Cime Post by: Eclipsed107 on November 10, 2006, 04:05:44 PM I love the fact that fans want the setlist changed so much that they're willing to listen to songs like Down on the Farm and Perfect Crime over songs that they love (Rocket Queen, Used to Love Her, Your Crazy, ect.).
I mean don't get me wrong, I love Perfect Crime, but there are fans out there who don't like it very much, but they'd take it over Jungle just so they can say they saw Axl perform Perfect Crime during the 2006 tour. WHy can't people just go and enjoy the concert for what they get instead of worrying about different songs being played. Title: Re: Perfect Cime Post by: ibelieveinaxl on November 10, 2006, 04:06:04 PM they dont have to start w jungle...mix it up a little.....perfect crime, nightrain, right next door to hell.....come on its msg!
Title: Re: Perfect Cime Post by: Eclipsed107 on November 10, 2006, 04:07:52 PM would love for them to surprise everyone and open with Nightrain. but i know what everyone is going to say, you GOTTA start with Jungle. I dunno, Jungle works so well as the opener, and Nightrain (the way it's been rewritten) works so well as a closer (whether it be the set or the encore). ?I wouldn't want them to mess with those songs for the time being. ?They're perfect where they are in the set. Personally, I'd rather see Perfect Crime played then Jungle (especially as the opener)... It's one of those cool songs and I think the new band would put a sweet twist on it. That being said, if you have the choice of hearing Perfect Crime over Prositute or If the world... Title: Re: Perfect Cime Post by: COMAMOTIVE on November 10, 2006, 04:21:52 PM I love the fact that fans want the setlist changed so much that they're willing to listen to songs like Down on the Farm and Perfect Crime over songs that they love (Rocket Queen, Used to Love Her, Your Crazy, ect.). I think Better would be a cool opener - Always thought Civil War would work well there too - And yes, I would rather hear Perfect Crime than You're Crazy - not a doubt in my mind I've been looking for a little less Appetite and a little more Illusion, so if they do some of that I won't complain - Title: Re: Perfect Cime Post by: Perfect Criminal on November 10, 2006, 04:24:36 PM Obviously from my screen name, it one of my favorite songs. I'd love to hear it live. Not sure if Axl at 44 can keep up with the song though. It would be awesome to see him try though.
Title: Re: Perfect Cime Post by: BumbleFinck on November 10, 2006, 04:26:13 PM I love the fact that fans want the setlist changed so much that they're willing to listen to songs like Down on the Farm and Perfect Crime over songs that they love (Rocket Queen, Used to Love Her, Your Crazy, ect.). I would take perfect crime over rocket queen and the AFD version of you're crazy any day. But then again, I'm someone who thinks appetite is their weakest album of original material, so my opinion may differ from many.I mean don't get me wrong, I love Perfect Crime, but there are fans out there who don't like it very much, but they'd take it over Jungle just so they can say they saw Axl perform Perfect Crime during the 2006 tour. Now that's a controversial list ;D You never seaze to hold opinions I'll never wrap my mind around. You're a rare guy :smoking: I still say it's stretching :hihi: Title: Re: Perfect Cime Post by: Risico on November 10, 2006, 05:43:40 PM why would anyone want to hear perfect crime? ::) Possibly because it's one of the best songs from UYI I... That's stretching it..... :smoking: No doubt. The song is aggressive, but it's a total mess - If any song is guilty of overproduction in GNR's catalogue, this is the one I'd point to. The only cool part is when Axl yells "I said it's PERFECT!!" Title: Re: Perfect Cime Post by: philspectorshotme on November 10, 2006, 05:44:35 PM disappointing legend. i thought you were above such flippant and obvious remarks such as the one i posted.
and those are pretty poor choices from 1 by the way :) Title: Re: Perfect Cime Post by: BumbleFinck on November 10, 2006, 05:45:41 PM I dunno about top5 but my favorite 5 on uyi1 are the last 5....

Love the whole album but those really stand out. The solo in the garden is just awesome :smoking:
Title: Re: Perfect Cime Post by: jbenzz on November 10, 2006, 06:21:31 PM why would anyone want to hear perfect crime? ::) Possibly because it's one of the best songs from UYI I... That's stretching it..... :smoking: It's the only original Illusions song that the band is going to play other then November Rain and You Could Be Mine, so I think the band must feel it's one of GNR's best. Title: Re: Perfect Cime Post by: Perfect Criminal on November 10, 2006, 06:57:21 PM I just love how the opening lines of Perfect Crime are sung:
Kickin' back in the shadows Got no need for the light Who's sorry now old timer Look at how you've spent your life Scroungin' for change To put some money in your pocket My how scratch does burn Laughin' at the suckers as you pissed it away But I got the time and I got the muscle I got the need to lay it all on the line I ain't afraid of your smoke screen hustle It's a perfect crime Goddamn it it's a perfect crime Motherfucker it's a perfect crime I said it's perfect Pretty damn awesome t me. For the record, NR is one of my least favorite song in the whole catalog. I never bother to burn that when I'm make custom GNR CDs. Perfect Crimes always makes the list. Title: Re: Perfect Cime Post by: polluxlm on November 10, 2006, 07:33:08 PM It's the only original Illusions song that the band is going to play other then November Rain and You Could Be Mine, so I think the band must feel it's one of GNR's best. Is that why the song was a regular on the Illusion tour.... ::) Besides, it's not the bands opinion of the song we're talking about here. Title: Re: Perfect Cime Post by: jbenzz on November 10, 2006, 07:38:52 PM It's the only original Illusions song that the band is going to play other then November Rain and You Could Be Mine, so I think the band must feel it's one of GNR's best. Title: Re: Perfect Cime Post by: Axl the Red on November 10, 2006, 08:57:39 PM i like threads as they get more off topic so i'll continue with the top 5 of UYI1 thing:
Unordered: coma NR The Garden Don't Damn Me Don't Cry Title: Re: Perfect Cime Post by: polluxlm on November 10, 2006, 09:31:50 PM Right back at ya :smoking:
Don't Damn Me Coma Dead Horse November Rain Dust N' Bones Title: Re: Perfect Cime Post by: The Legend on November 11, 2006, 08:30:12 AM It's the only original Illusions song that the band is going to play other then November Rain and You Could Be Mine, so I think the band must feel it's one of GNR's best. Is that why the song was a regular on the Illusion tour.... ::) Besides, it's not the bands opinion of the song we're talking about here. Good point. But opinions of songs, certaintly change over time i'm sure. Just look at Down On The Farm. Sure, it's a UK Subs cover, but who ever thought we'd hear ANYTHING from The Spaghetti Incident in 2006? Plus you never know. Axl might've told the guys, "hey, i'll sing whatever you want, you guys make the setlist. Go into the catalog and pick out your favorites, and i'll be there to sing them." I think Perfect Crime is a great song, and I think it should've opened the show the entire run during the UYI world tour in 1991-93. It's still one of my favorites from UYI, and it just may be one of there's also. Who knows... Title: Re: Perfect Cime Post by: daviebuckethead on November 11, 2006, 09:29:09 AM i like the guitar in the verse "...i gotta blind man followin me in chains, said its fun to watch...."
its simple but effective. although i dont think perfect crime makes it in to the top 5 tunes from UYI collcetively or as a single album! :peace: Title: Re: Perfect Cime Post by: pollyblue on November 11, 2006, 10:39:05 AM first off, there is no such song called 'perfect cime'
