EFISH, you need Adblock for Firefox. With it, you can right-click the pic and block it. This works great for imbedded advertising images, but also great in a situation like this as well.

I've worked with people who run ISPs (although never had that headache myself). Never once did they even bother reporting obscene material, unless it was photos of kids. Reason being, the cops do not care and do not have the manpower to deal with it, unless it's on a massive scale and they can justify the expense.

Okay, I just got off the phone with some friends who were at the show.  One of them said that Robin got pissed at one point and slammed his guitar on the ground really hard, but that it didn't stop the show.  Also (and this will need confirmation, because I'm not 100 percent sure this guy knows what he's talking about), he said that they played Catcher in the Rye.  Doubtful, I know, but I asked him twice to be sure.  Also, Axl thanked the fire marshalls in Portland for being 'so fucking cool' or something like that.

I doubt they played CITR... not because I doubt you... but because it wasn't on that setlist we "didnt" see.

Yeah, that was my thought, too.  Just thought I'd pass it along and wait for confirmation.

Madagascar was played as was Down on the Farm. No previously unplayed songs.

There apparently were sound problems early on, especially with Axl's ear monitors but the band played through it.

The crowd was 80 percent full and stayed til the end.

Yes and a few times axl mic would cut out for half of the song. That happned 2 o r3 times but htey all stuck with it and didnt stop the show. Also the crowd was really into it. The crowd was realy loud. Louder than boston 2002 in a bigger venue with more ppl Also i heard calls to WAAF after teh show and all were postive unlike in 2002

hey guys just got back. the dcu center was very full, probably close to 95%, some upper deck seats not filled. Down of the Farm was not only a nice surprise, it was actually a highlight. People were really into it and Axl sang it so passionately. Madagascar was cool for an encore. Axl showed up at about 11:45 ish and then the place just went into overdrive. I was about four rows back and it was honestly one of the most surreal experiences of my life. What a spectacle. A week ago I saw Alice in Chains at Lupos in Providence and I considered it the best concert I have ever seen. This is the best show    I have ever seen. Awesome night. Oh ya and axl asked for a moment of silence for britney and kfed  :rofl: hahaha that was hillarious

Same here, I am fucking beat.  But I want to add how great it was to be in the pit.  Everyone was great and i was bout 10 feet from Axl the whole time.  Still can't believe they did Down on the Farm

I was surprised though that so few people in the pit knew the words to the new songs.

Some highlights for me before I hit the sack....

1. Robin's solo now has the band behind him playing, which makes it more like a vocalless song. ?I'm starting to wonder if the tunes they play during the solos will be parts of songs on the album.

2. Apparently, Frank is Axl's motovational coach. ?Axl must stay positive or Frank beats the crap out of him. ?Axl says this is a very good motovational tool. :hihi:

3. After Out To Get Me, Axl mentioned that he should have dedicated the song....and then proceeded to thank the Worcester fire marshalls for being so helpful.

4. During November Rain, after the sparkles, one of the drinks by the drums caught on fire. ?In my opionion, this is exceedingly ironic :hihi:

5. Down By the Farm YAY!

6. After the final bows, Axl went to the mic and again thanked everyone for being there, and thanked who may have come down from Maine for doing so. And thanked us for putting up with the technical difficulties.

7. Jarmo has a cool accent. ?Tanya does too, but she doesn't want to admit it.

Hey all. Just got back from a terrific show.

First of all, Bach is the fucking man! What was Skid Row thinking to fire him? One of the best openers ever, fucking awesome. It's amazing that one man has soo much charisma. Bach is a legend.

Papa Roach was better than I expected. When I heard some of their songs I was like "oh yea, I remember that!" They were good, albeit a little generic, but they got the crowd pumped.

Guns N' Roses put on a killer, killer show. This was the second time that I had seen "Nu-GN'R," the first being Boston '02, and the band has definitely improved. While I loved seeing Axl in '02, and while the band was good, it seemed less like a band and more of an Axl Rose solo concert with a good backing band. This time, however, they really seemed solidified, much more like a band. There was a lot of chemistry between Finck/Fotrus especially. And at the end, when the band gave their final bow, amongst the screams of enthusiastic fans, it seemed like less of a nostalgia act, and more like a band with a future.

Axl looked Godly, way better than in '02. Axl was far more confident at this show, fully back in his groove after years away from the spotlight.


The band took the stage around 11:30 and played until about 2:00. Because there wasn't that much time between Bach, PR and GN'R, the wait didn't seem long at all.

There were some sound problems, especially hearing Axl, that was really the only downside. I think that it is a good idea to have the band members showcase a solo, as it introduces the band to the public and makes it more of a Guns N' Roses show and less of an Axl Rose one.
Here's an idea, let Stinson sing a Replacements song! That'd rock!

The new songs were met with a polite, if not overly enthusiastic response. But that's to be expected as 99% of the people haven't heard the new stuff.

My favorite moment was when Bach came on stage to sing "My Michelle" with the band. That was so fucking cool! They really were like brothers. Bolan and Snake, enjoy playing rib-joints fuckers!

Guns N' Roses really should release "Chinese Democracy," like, right now. While the tour is going well and the iron is hot, release the fucking thing.

All in all, excellent show. If you are on the fence about seeing the new band, take a chance and go, you'll have a great time.

Yeah that was pretty funny...  Axl seemed like they were having as much fun as we were.
It was simply an awesome show...
I went to the mother's day show at Hammerstein (which was also awesome) and they seemed to have really come together as a band... their energy was awesome.

I think you just convenced me to go to the Nashville show. Great review. Sounds like it was a killer show.  : ok:

Sounds like it was a good show. Nice set, with the exception of some songs off of Lies that weren't played, but you guys did get Down on the Farm, and that kicks ass!

Thanks to everyone for updating in the face of adversity (Tomorrow's posts).  Sounds like another killer show. I'm glad everyone was in a great mood and everyone that went had a blast!

Everything everyone's said so far is right. They put on a great show...great chemistry and they played for a long time.

Only complaint is the issues with Axl's mic. It was pretty bad from where I was. Couldn't hear him half the time and when you could, if he sang high at all it would get fuzzy and distort his voice. It's a shame too, because form what I could tell his voice was spot on last night.

the show last night was awesome. i got to go as a last minute replacement (i'm still a little-- holy shit, i got to go to the show)... i guess lots of folks weren't going or had to go early because of when and where the show was... but it was a great time. i saw them in 02 in minneapolis and this was twice as good. axl was spot on tho he spent a lot of the inbetween songs talking about how the soundguy was the worst soundguy of the tour or something. he couldn't hear himself at all but he sounded great. it looks like the other folks who went agree it was a great great show (i didn't even realize i missed my favorite appetite song, rocket queen, until this morning-- that's how caught up in all the fun i was)-- what stood out for me was the very end after the bows when everyone was leaving in a heard axl stayed and apologized for the previous night and thanked everyone for coming out. to me anyhow it came off as very sincere and from the heart. so, from me, thanks to you axl for coming out to us.

People also need to realize that arena shows STINK for sound. There are always black holes in arenas for sound. Parts of an arena will sound great, then other parts suck. You want great sound, you need to go to theatres like Hammerstein or the Joint, etc. I've been to over a 100 rock shows, happens to everyone in arenas. :-\

thats actually different from state to state. its not a federal law. for example, there is no law against it at all in the state of washington.

honestly, half the night you could hardly even hear axl......the sound was so fucked up it was pretty disappointing......i know it's not the bands fault, they played their fucking asses off. ?i hear what the people are saying about arena shows having shitty sound, but i was in the same spot all night and bach sounded fucking KILLER!!!!!! ?crisp, clear, loud....i was seriously impressed with bach, that guy went off......then gn'r came out and you could hardly hear axl, and when you could it was really high pitched screetching almost.....it was probably the worst sounding show i've ever seen

Hey y'all... long time guest, first time poster... just wanted to give my little review:
Last night's show was fucking awesome.  Axl pretty much said from the beginning that he couldn't hear himself at all, but from where i was, he seemed to be hitting every single note.  The were definitely times when you couldn't hear him well, but when you could he sounded so damn good, even better than anything I've seen on youtube from '06.  The band kicked ass too.  When I left i was thinking about it, and it struck me that all these "new" guys are really seasoned experienced musicians with really different backgrounds, and they all bring a slightly different flavor to the table, which makes  for a really cool, unique sound overall.  I came in hoping they'd "fill in" for the old band well, but in the end I realized that this is a completely different group, and they're awesome!  They really made the songs their own.  And the triple guitar attack really worked for me.  Fink goes out to the battlefield and maniacally sprays machine gunfire everywhere, Fortus is an expert marksman, and Bumblefoot is special forces.  I was really impressed with Axl's behavior as well.  It seems to me that there was a time when he would have gone off on a 10 minute rant about the Portland fire marshalls, or stormed off stage because of the sound problems.  But he really was a perfect gentleman, very professional and gracious.  Anyway, I had a blast and I hope they come back soon! :peace:

Last night was a great time and this is my recalling of the evening.

I got to DCU about 11am and was the 1st one there. It was raining hard all day so they let as stay inside to wait till about 2 hours till we could get in. By the time we got in the line for the floor was all the way down the street. And the guy inside looked out and said "HOLY SHIT" So me and my girlfriend get in and run down to the floor and get front and center.

BAZ was fucking great!!! sound like he did back in his Skid Row days. The place was full when he was on stage. And by the time gn'r hit the stage they opened the top of the DCU and look to me to be sold out!! 10.000 give or take. It was a great crowed and everone was have a good time.

Papa Crap...need i say more? all of people got up to get things when they came on. And there was alot of fighting. The singer said "you want to come up here and fight it out? who wants to see a good fight tonight?" Then axl's body guard told the sing not to fucking do. Grabed him and told he something in his ear and then walked back to the drums. He then told them to kiss and make up. The got off around 10:30

GUNS N'ROSES from 10:30pm we waited till 11:40 till they came on. Jungle opened the show...it sounds abit slower then the last time i seen them in NYC. More like the album. Axl could not hear anything for the 1st 4 songs. After Jungle he stop and told the ppl "I'm not going to let my sound guy fuck me!! i'm going to do this with no ears" and in to It's So Easy. Then Brownstone. Both songs sounded ok but abit off because Axl still could not hear him self. And then on brownstone he got feed back and kicked the monitor. Then they played Live and Let Die. Still no monitor for axl but still played witch is great! for the 1st 4 song you could not hear him to good. Then they played a blues jam with Robin. Then it when in to Sweet Child. Now you could hear axl better. But he still had no ears in. KOHD was next sounded great but could not hear Axl at times. At one pont Axl sayed "Hello portland then laught. and no thats not nice." And then thanked the firemen for letting the show go on. YCBM was next and sounded great.  Dizzy then came out and play Angie before going in to The Blues. Sounded Very good. They have that song down very well.  Then they played Better and the place went nuts!! after the song i sceamed "PLAY MORE NEW SONGS!!!" axl then looked at me and sayed "i heared that" and smiled. Then they played a solo and when in to Out Ta Get Me. November Rain was next. Sounded great. But when the pyro went off at the ending solo it started a small fire on stage that no one seen!! afew of the guys next to me got Axl's Bodyguard and he ran up on stage and put it out. He then came back downed and thanked them. Then Tommy asked Axl what you want to do next? DOWN ON THE FARM witch was fucking awsome!!! Axl sounded great!!! after that. Me and the guys next to me sceamed out IRS!!! tommy then looked at axl and asked if he wanted to play it and he said sure! lol it was great. And the rest of the show was great. Madagascar was amazing!!! and axl was having a great time and told the ppl it was a nice night. P-City was rocking and Axl thow the mic out to a guy. Then when they came out to take a bow and said good bye. The guy with the mic was saiding GOOD FUCKING NIGHT GOOD FUCKING NIGHT GUNS N FUCKING ROSES!!! axl then said "can someone pease trun that off lol" 11:40 to 2am. it was great i can't wait to see them next time. :beer:

Just woke up from last night. Some impressions:

as stated before there were intermittent sound problems, esp. with axl's mic---but that didnt stop them from putting on one of the most high energy shows ive seen---even more so than the June one!

Particularly hot songs included KOHD, Better, LALD and a VERY tight version of Maddy

Also Robin's new solo with Dizzy and Frank included was the shit! The man is an animal 8)

Frank is clearly living the dream---he refuses to let the energy die down in b/w songs, pounding his bass drum to the "Guns n Roses" beat---perhaps thats why axl called him his motivational speaker ;D

BBF had a bra thrown at him towards the end and he promptly wore it as a hat

Axl asked for a moment of silence for the split of Britney and K-Fed before NR...it was not respected--he also dedicated Nightrain to them

I guess what impressed me the most was that in spite of the sound issues at points, the band still played their hearts out--Axl was really engagin with the audience and they all, judging by the amount of sweat on them, put everything out on the stage.

Robin has really impressed me in 06 and I wasnt a fan at all really in 02. He seems so much more at home with the band now.

I disagree with the poster who said everyone was in their seats for Baz and not Papa Roach= quite the opposite happened. Many folks were complaining they couldn't understand a word Baz was singing, and some folks were turned off by his non stop parade of the F bomb after every song.

Papa Roach had the best audience out of the two, GNR came on, the house was full (no one in the hallways, that is). Some empty seats all over, so it definitely didn't sell out, but the crowd was awesome and it was a great time.  : ok:

Anyway...I had met Jarmo and Tanya at? the preparty, and that highlight was just a personal one of mine, Axl mentioned neither of them :)

From my perspective, Axl became more energetic and sounded better as the show went along. "Out Ta Get Me" was probably the best version I've ever heard live. The musicianship in the band is very tight, but I didn't care much for Finck's solo (the one that led into "Sweet Child O' Mine"). His "Beautiful" jam with Fortus was pretty cool, though. Not to complain about Ron Thal, but I wasn't impressed with his rendition of "Don't Cry". I agree with some of the other posters,  that there's one guitarist too many in the band. Of the new songs, I think "Better" came off best. The band can certainly play the hell out of the old stuff. Overall, for all of the technical issues, I'd give the show a letter grade of 'B'.

Yeah uzisuicide2002 that was me next to you. Good thing that guy noticed us yelling to him or the show could of ended a little bit earlier. Getting Axl to play I.R.S was fucking awesome too.

The reason Axl called Frank his motivation was because after one of the songs, Axl was walking back to get some water and Frank got off his seat and was yelling at Axl saying "You're doing fucking great, you are the man, You're doing fucking great!!" Cause at that point Axl was a little pissed with not being able to hear himself. Then thats when Axl said "Yeah Frank is my motivation. He's the one that keeps me going. If I'm not out here singing he'll kick my ass. Now thats good motivation."

Axl was a class act all night. Very funny and handled the technical difficulties like a pro.
Another thing, He sounded fucking great. I was so impressed, especially without the in-ears. At the end of Jungle he threw them on the ground saying "I'm guess I'm gonna do the show without my in-ears cause the soundman is trying to fuck me." Then during either It's So Easy or Brownstone he got feedback and he kicked the monitor.

I love the Britney and KFed joke too. Then he gave us the west side sign with big smile. It was hilarious.

Great fucking show all around. Awesome setlist, I cant believe I got to see them play Down On The Farm, that was great.

Oh yeah, another thing from last night

During KOHD, he did the audience singing thing.  Then he said, we have one more...like normal.  But he skipped a beat and didn't start his singing when he normally would.  He fooled us!!  He smiled his little "hehe got ya" smile and then started the verse. I was so off time for that one, dammit :hihi:

At the end of the day we should listen to music to inspire us, or move us in one way or another or just for pure entertainment. ?We should also go to live performances to be entertained. ?In my case, Guns N?Roses has always been special to me because it provided both of the above. ?Their music inspires me and at times, gives me the lift to get through the little things in life. I have seen Guns N? Roses 5 times in my life (Boston ?02, NY ?06 5/12, NY ?06 5/17 & Worcester ?06), and hopefully more to come. In all five of the shows, I have been delightfully entertained. ?The following is my review of the Guns N? Roses show in Worcester last night.

First off, I knew that the band would be going on sometime after 11:00p, so I planned accordingly and arrived at the venue around 10:00p and took the next day off. ?

It was a rainy, sloppy kind of night, but I thought the ?November Rain? was somewhat of a sign of things to come ? meaning that in a good ironic kind of way.

I went to the show with 6 of my closest family members, me being the only hardcore fan, the others being casual fans. BTW ? they were 100% wowed at how this band played ? they are true believers.

Now on to the show: ?
Guns started the show sometime around 11:40ish ? I don?t consider them as going on late, as Papa Roach ended his set sometime around 10:30 and it took quite awhile for the bands crew to set the stage for GN?R. ?We only sat around for maybe 3-4 songs on over the PA from the time they finished setting up the stage and when GN?R actually hit the stage. That?s not bad in my opinion.

The set list was as follows:

The band played great ? there were a few technical difficulties, but other than that show went flawless. ?The band seemed to be in a really good mood ? and the venue was 85% full for the entire show. ?

Axl addressed the Portland issue in his own way, and in my opinion he was a class act and put on one hell of a show. All of the negative fans need to take a step back and figure out why they still follow this band.- if they go back to the music they will figure it out. ?Get off your computers and see this band ? they FUCKIN? ROCK 

Guns n roses Worcester Ma 11/09/06

First off Bach opening was amazing. He sounded great. I had heard some of his you tubes and thought he did not sound that great but last night his voice was insane.  He played some skid row hits and said that the Worcester crowd was probably the best he has seen all tour or something to that effect.  He also looks possessed when he hits that super high notes.  The guy can really song and I was really impressed.  As or Papa Roach I did not care for them. The crowed seemed much more into Bach than Papa Roach. 

The crowd waited about an hour or so for Gnr to hit the stage and no one really booed, then near the end a few people started booing and a lot of people joined in then 10 seconds later Robin started his WTTF tease and the crowd erupted.  I was at Boston 2002 and while Worcester is a smaller venue and has less people let me tell you the crowd was loud and into all the songs.  The new songs even got a pop.  Most people did not know them but I saw some people that were singing them.  One guy even asked Cindy who was next to me how we knew the new songs. He asked if we stole them LOL We told him the names of the new songs they played to that point and I assume he was going to go down load t hem after the show (sorry Axl)

Despite a lot of technical difficulties I have never heard Axl sound better than I did tonight.   For the first four songs he did not use his ear monitor because he could not hear himself and he sounded amazing.  He really should just lose the monitors because he always spends too much time playing with it and it sometimes throws him off.  After the first song Axl complained about the sound problems and said we will try to put on a show for you.  That worried a lot of people in the crowd but let me tell you the band really rallied and got through it all. The sound was really messed up because on some songs Robin?s guitar would just cut out, this caused him to toss 2 or 3 guitars during the show. Axl?s mic could cut out here and there and you couldn?t not hear him sing for parts of songs. It was interesting though to hear Robin?s guitar so high on some of the songs. It was pretty cool actually, the only bad thing was he crapped out for the intro of better and you could not hear his guitar intro for it. That was disappointing but the crowd was really into better especially the metal part.  I think we have Frank to thank for keeping this show going, because when Axl was really pissed off after the first few songs because of sound problems Frank said something to him because Axl came out and thanked him and said he is his new motivational speaker, and to keep going or he would kick my ass. 

While the solos were many they all got a good reaction from the crowd, the biggest cheer surprisingly came from Dizzy?s piano solo of the stones song Angie. Axl was in good spirits and joked a lot. He joked about the Fire Marshals in Maine and saying I thank the cool Fire Marshals here for allowing us to put on our show.  He also asked for a moment of silence because K Fed and Britney are getting a divorce, when the crowd cheered, Axl said that wasn?t very nice and laughed. He even messed with the fans for the sing a long part of KOHD and came on a few notes late on the final sing along and tricked us. It was funny.  Also after Better, Axl said I heard that.  And said I heard some of you yelling play more new songs. 

The surprise of the night came when they played down on the Farm; it was really rockin, and sounded great. But this was one of the songs Axl?s mic was crapping out and for the middle part of the song you couldn?t hear him. But the song came off great and they should make it a staple in their show. 

All and all the show came off great and the fans were into it all night. Not many left before the end of the show. I would say the place was about 80% full and quite a few people came from Maine to see the show.  Also after the show walking out and I went to a store after to get a drink, everyone was saying how great Axl and the band sounded.  I also turned on the radio to listen and 90% of the callers were positive.  The only negative things said about the band were about the solos.  They just think there are too many of them and they are a buzz kill. Ii have yet to hear a person said this show was not good yet so that is a good thing.  If not for the sound problems this could have been the best gnr show ever.  It?s the best I have ever been to and that includes the first night of Hammerstein.  Sure the list at Hammerstein was better but the band played and Axl sounded better at this show.  Axl?s voice is getting better and better. I never thought he would hear Axl as good as he sounded in the 80s again but he is getting close. If anyone gets a chance to see this band live, really should go check it out.  You won?t be disappointed. If they only had an album out then everyone would have known the new songs but in due time.

Yeah man it was great meet you guys. it was still a great time with all the shit that happen and off stage. The crowed was crushing everyone to much and ppl were getting pulled out before the band even came on. Did any video this show to put on dvd??? its a must have!!!!! :beer:

Yeah man, me and my hair ( ;D ) got up to about third "row" during Bach's set. ?After his set, the crowd just started pushing horribly. ?I thought to myself that Papa Roach was just NOT worth this. ?I didn't think I would be able to keep it up through Papa Roach to make it to GNR, so I bailed and went to the back. ?

The show was great.  I was like 5 feet from the stage.  The audio was bad at times.  Axl champed through it.  You could see he was giving a little extra to compensate.  The crowd was into it.  2 cool moments for me was Axl was talking to Fortus between breaks in songs and 2 dudes near me and myself started chanting "IRS".  He looked down at us and then looked back at Fortus with a smile and I heard him say "IRS".  Obviously, he played IRS.  Plus, my cousin thre his hat on stage during Paradise City and Axl put it on and threw it.
