Here Today... Gone To Hell!

Just seen for the first time ever a HUGE promo on GNR touring Canada, this promo is nationwide and lists all dates and shows some recent footage of some GNR concerts recently, looks like theyre going all out as  the promo lasted a good 3-5 minutes.

where did you see this?  i'm in calgary and haven't seen anything yet ;(

what did it show?

it showed european tour footage, all the dates, venues etc. and was dubbed as the "CHINESE DEMOCRACY WORLD TOUR" i seen it on TSN.

now im glued to tsn.

You gotta wonder about the thinking sometimes... most of the Canadian shows are selling great. Halifax sold out, Calgary basically sold out, the rest going strong (only Quebec and St. Johns I'm not sure on) meanwhile in the US... no big promotion that I know of...

ill keep a lookout on tsn now, but so far ive seen/heard no GNR promotion anywhere, except for talk on the radio sometimes and the ticketmaster website   ???

I saw this as well on TSN...but I would say it lasted in the range of 30-45 seconds like a regular commercial...I'm not sure where you're getting 3-5 minutes from.

And it was very cool...recent concert footage, and it ran off all the dates across the country along a bar down the side of the screen...

 Haven't seen it yet either! Whats happening with the pre-parties for Calgary and Edmonton? I'll be a both!!!

for the record i watch TSN (sports chanel for the non famaliar) every morning & night and have never seen a GnR mention.

I'm not sure there are meetups planned.  there are threads for both edm and cgy in the "on tour" section, we should discuss meetups there.

It was on sometime around 5pm(CST - I'm in SASK) ...I work in sports at CTV so we generally have TSN on in the office...believe me, it aired...and it was before MNF and very much an ad for the Canadian leg of the tour only...

Ya one of my buddies was asking me today if I seen it on TSN he said it was a couple minutes long....Id love to see this

Well in Finland they sold out in under 5 mins for both gigs that is 12 000 tickets for both shows and there really was no promotion.

Just seen about 30 seconds of the commercial on Off The Record on TSN....They plaed clips of Sweet Child and I forget what else...Had some footage from Donnington I beliveit was and Rio and showed some dates on the side

fucking cool to see, especially highlighting the presence of the new guys....only complaint: why not use live versions of the songs instead of trying to synch studio with live lip motions? either way....THAT got me excited. :beer:

I thought the Blues was on it because of the newgnr audio they made but when I watched the promo on one of John M's DVDs, all I heard was Jungle, Chinese, Madagascar, Sweet Child, You could be Mine & don't remember but maybe Paradise City...

That is not the full audio clip from the Boston ad... The Blues comes afterwards.  Along with November Rain, It's So Easy, and more of Jungle and Sweet Child.

What station is playing GN'R commercials in Canada?? A friend mentioned that they saw a GN'R ad in the paper for the Ottawa show recently.? : ok:

Saw the commercial again today at 6:15 on TSN during Off The Record right as it went to a commercial break...Commercials about 45 seconds long....I belive it was on the same time yesterday to

I just saw it too. Pretty cool little commercial they got there. I just wish it was live audio, instead of the AFD recordings.

I'd be really interested to see if this is the same commercial that played in Tampa. I never saw a commercial air in the area, but when I went to the venue on the night of the show, outside on a big film-projector, they were projecting against a big car garage wall, and show a Guns N' Roses 2006 commercial promoting the NA tour.

Aye, as said by the dude that clip is missing the beginning and a part of the end. I was going to upload it for you, I had it on my computer, I know I did... But the file seems to be missing. I'm pretty sure that one of the GNR sites had a cut up version of it up, with just the studio cuts. Can't find it though, sorry buddy.

I think Calgary is going to be the "big" show for the tour.

Yeah, it's been on a couple of times.  Makes a cool impression.  Also, it's 1 minute long.  I know for a commercial that may feel like 3-5 minutes, but commercial breaks are only 2.5 minutes at the most anyway.  Commercial times are sold in 15, 30 seconds and 1 minute slots.  This was definitely a 1 minute commercial.  Pretty cool.  I was at a bar with a bunch of people who's coming with me to the Toronto show (now up to 14), and the commercial got a lot of them excited.   It's funny, a lot of people who know I'm a big GNR fan are coming up to me saying, "Hey, did you know that GNR are in Toronto this week."  I give 'em one of these,  ;)
