Here Today... Gone To Hell!

OK, my friend invited me on Wednesday to go with him and a mate last night to go see Michael Angelo Batio in Gillingham, and I went, and it was fucking awesome (seriously, the guy is like... TALENTOHMIGOD!) , but the funniest thing was, afterwards we could all get things signed and stuff, and while I was there, he said "you're hot!" then he hugged me.... and then later he signed my hip... during which he asked me who I came with, and where I was going afterwards, and also: "I may have to go lower to finish my signature...." and I was like "sure dude go for it."

Then, my friend stared at me in shock and then said, "YOU GOT HIT ON BY MICHAEL ANGELO BATIO!" and promptly had a go at me for not going off to "have sex with Guitar Jesus"

Well, I actually woulda (cuz once you've seen this guy play guitar, you automatically think "damn he must be good with his hands!"), but its completely the WRONG time for me... grrrr!

So ya, I've got a massive signature across my hips (front), and I got hit on by the number one fastest guitarist in the world...

There are plenty of "guitarists" faster than MAB. However, most of these people are just plain gymnasts, just like Batio. Hence me having trouble calling them, and Batio, guitarists at all. It's a term a prefer to use for people with some more musical (compositional) abilities. MAB is the equivalent of somebody who thinks of himself as a great writer, just because he learned the dictionary by hard. He's nonetheless very skilled at what he does. I prefer people like Ron or Buckethead who have the ability to apply amazing speed tastefully. Ron has recorded some of the fastest playing I've ever heard, along with Holdsworth, faster than MAB. For what it's freakin' worth, because speed can be a excellent vehicle for expression, but should never be a goal on itself.
