Title: Ok, in light of all the cancelled show speculation, CD release etc..
Post by: ben9785 on November 07, 2006, 06:20:21 AM
Hi
Okay this is my first time I've posted regarding this, take it easy in advance okay.
In light of all the speculation behind the cancelled show and shit like that, and the ongoing madness surrounding the release of the album etc, I figured it would be a bit of an appropriate time for a source of the band to step forward and give us some sort of update regarding the progress of the tour, and also, how things are looking for the release of Chinese Democracy, if it is still on track for this year etc etc especially in light of the aforementioned recent events and so on

Now I'm sure you can find all sort of excuses to blast or flame me or wish bad karma onto me (literally), but look I'm trying to be reasonable about it and rather than bringing up the subject amist a whole lot of negativity and criticism and bad mouthing towards axl or the managers or the record label or whoever, I hope you can appreciate I'm trying to take a different approach to this and try to be a bit reasonable and polite about it

Jarmo, or Mysteron, Or Merck, or anybody else who works with the band that is lurking around, kindly I just ask, if you may time a moment to consider these questions, in the interests of ongoing concerns from fans; I'm sure there are also other fans who would appreciate to have this info, and maybe some news site out there may be able to quote this information for mass consumption

Now I know there is a great deal of secrecy around this subject, but I just ask you give us the best possible answer no matter how general or vague it is, just in the best interests of keeping things in check..

1) How is the bands general reaction to the progress of the tour so far? I know you may decline to provide specific details, but, at the very least, have any tentative plans been drawn up for where the tour will go from here following these run of dates?

2) To the best of your knowledge, is Chinese Democracy still going to drop on a Tuesday before the end of the year? Are things in motion for the album to come out somehow at the end of the year? I'm not asking how or when or where, I'm just asking is there still a chance it will ultimately hit the shelves this year? Regardless of advance promotion, or if it just turns up on shelves

3) Is there absolutely ANY advance promotion or review planned AT ALL? I'm keeping this open, anything from a radio spot to a magazine feature or an MTV exclusive or anything as small or big as that? Again, not asking for specifics, but yes or no?

Look once again I hope I don't seem unreasonable or demanding or anything like that, I'm trying to approach you in a respectful, appreciative manner and I hope you can acknowledge that and in return understand my enquiry and take it seriously.

Thanks.

I don't think they're unreasonable questions to ask. But as to whether you'll get reasonable answers....... ???

Yeah I understand that. Look, even just vague answers, like I say in the best interests of people's knowledge especially in light of particular criticism lately with the cancelled show, and of course the end of the year approaching. I know people are usually frustrated or critical or negative about it, and I do sympathise, I just thought I'd try a different approach. I don't think I've asked too much in this post, even just:
1) yes
2) no
3) yes
4) no

EDIT: I sent Mysteron a PM regarding this thread, I hope I wasn't asking too much, just to bring it to attention for consideration. Mysteron if you see this thanks in advance for acknowledging my enquiry
I think that might at least be a step forward in answering people's questions

from the short messages we get from axl during the shows, the band and him seems to enjoy it.

2) To the best of your knowledge, is Chinese Democracy still going to drop on a Tuesday before the end of the year? Are things in motion for the album to come out somehow at the end of the year? it won't turn up on shelves without any notice. i guess that was just some kind of sarcastic comment.

3) Is there absolutely ANY advance promotion or review planned AT ALL? I'm keeping this open, anything from a radio spot to a magazine feature or an MTV exclusive or anything as small or big as that? Again, not asking for specifics, but yes or no?

i surely think there will be some kind of promotion prior to its release.

though i'm not connected to the band in any way, i just thought i'd share my views to this. good post imo.? : ok:

Hey look i'm open to any input, I was just starting a discussion, but I was kind of hoping that a source of the band could further clarify things, to calm things down a bit that's all. Thanks for your feedback.

You'll never get an answer to those questions unfortunately.

Tentative plans have been set, but as to the fulfillment of these are yet to be decided (as with everything else in GN'R). Obviously the completion of this leg and the release of the album are issues that needs to be taken into consideration until further touring begins.

2) To the best of your knowledge, is Chinese Democracy still going to drop on a Tuesday before the end of the year? Are things in motion for the album to come out somehow at the end of the year? To the knowledge of everybody in the GN'R camp, excluding Axl and maybe Merck, this is still the plan. But just because it is the plan does not mean everything that needs to be sorted out has been sorted out. It seems to be a feeling of possible delays in the camp. However, 06 is still officially the plan.

As the comment from Merck was confirmed to be sarcasm, yes, there would definitaley be some promotion.

Off course, I'm not in the band, it's just speculation based on comments, logic and experience.

Mysteron, a poster on this site and a confirmed insider of the band, said it. When and where, don't ask me, I don't remember :hihi:

But it's true.

Edit: Here it is

Mysteron - sorry for all the questions, but do you know if there's any validity to the idea that there may be no given release date for the album before it hits stores?  Was that just sarcasm not fully represented?

It would have been sarcasm

Sounds reasonable to me. Why these questions can not be answered is anyone's guess.

Certainly would calm down the fan base. I think we deserve something after all these years of wondering.
