ust a heads up....WAAF is having/broadcasting a chat with Axl Sunday at 8 PM. I'm not sure which area WAAF covers, but I'm assuming it's NH and MA at least.

Could you give some information about the timezones?

i guess this will be before he goes on stage in NJ...that would be kind of cool if he calls in from backstage.

I lived in Boston last yr. ?WAAF is a kick-ass rock/newer rock music station (but WBCN is better ?;)) ?It's eastern time too.

Not even close and WBCN earlier this ?year was getting killed by WAAF so WBCN changed their format to WAAFs and started playing classic rock and modern rock mix like WAAF has always done. Before this year WBCN never played guns n roses for close to 5 years. WAAF always had guns n roses in heavy rotation and they dont just play the popular songs. On WAAF you will hear used to love her, rocketqueen, my michelle, and stuff like that

Are you kidding? the music format has always been the same for both stations.  What puts BCN over the top is their better dj's.  Toucher and Rich rock!  Adolfo is cool too...i guess

You are wrong. I have lived in boston all my life. And WBCN just went back to the classic rock/ modern rock about a year ago. WBCN for years was just mondern rock. And WAAFs DJs are much better the Hillman and carrie are? better than anyone on WBCN.? Ask anyone who lived in MA from the last ten years. WBCN didnt play Gnr and classic rock bands for? years before about a year ago. The only time WBCN played classic rock was on weekends when that was the format and that was back in 2002-2004 or so. then sometime last  year they started playing it during the week again

I used to listen to AAF before I got Sirius.  Now I NEVER listen to testicular radio.  AAF is a great station though for regular radio.  I guess I'll have to break my streak and tune in Sunday night.  By the way I live in north/central CT and can pick up WAAF as well.  And I've picked it up in Vermont as well.  It spans most of New England, in parts at least.  But yeah, it's streamed on the net.  Who's he gonna be talking to from the station?

Yes but knowing axl he could cancel. The interview might be taped earlier because I think he has some rule about that, so he can cut out anyting he does like  before it goes over the air

I haven't listened to WAAF since the late 90s as they were playing the worst metal sludge around--KORN, Limp Bizkit and other crap like Creed.

BCN plays a great mix of classics and modern rock. And WAAF have been dicks to GN'R in the past, like after the Boston show in '02.

Anyway, I'll tune in Sunday.

no release date on either CD or a single will be mentioned.  There's no way Axl will drop that kind of info on a local radio station interview.  Most likely it will TALK about some aspects (obviously) of CD, but nothing we don't already know.  I bet it's just gonna be promotion for when GNR play at the DCU center in Wooosttaaa.

You have that backwards. WAAF always played the mix for most of the 90s to about 2005 WBCN just played that korn, LB shit. WAAF always played gnr WBCN NEVER did until just recently.

Maybe he'll at least say if 2006 is still the year.

waaf's new format "everything that rocks" is fucking awful. blink 182? whatever band that plays stacy's mom? its awful. AAF has gone down the shitter since paul marshall left. Trust me... I LOVED WAAF. I still go to locobazooka just about every year, but they need to get their shit together. the Toucher & Rich show is hillarious and even though they aren't local, Opie and Anthony are far better than shitty hillman and his batch of goons. I like Mike Hsu and Bob Hannah a lot. They know the deal. Anyway all im saying is that both stations are good but I personally feel they are heading in different directions.

It's all good guys, no need to debate about the radio station or whatever shit music they play and things like that.
They are hosting an Axl interview, that's all that matters. Possible answers to our concerns there? Wait and see..

WAAF is a Worcester station and the show on Wednesday isn't sold out yet... so it's entirely possible that Axl would call-in to drum up some more ticket sales.

WAAF streams online at waaf.com.  IF, they do indeed carry any sort of interview you should be able to hear it there.

man, there are so many good seats left for the worchester show.  its f-ed up.  i agree that axl may be going on the radio to drum up ticket sales.  bot more to the point, this band needs to start promoting themselves.  or if they truly want to build from the ground up again, don't play arenas.  they've had many years to plan this comeback, i just can't understand why they do the things they do.

just got off the phone with a dj from waaf and they are doing the interview in conjunction with vh1.he said he doesnt know what its about but it will have something very exciting for long time fans.go on the waaf website and get the phone number and call them yourself.see what else we can find out. :peace:

makes sense something could happen... wasn't there something posted about november 6th being important?  also, guns have a show in jersey on sunday night, and i'll bet that vh1 is in nyc, so he could easily do an interview in ny and then be onstage at the meadowlands by 11 (it's only about 20 minutes outside nyc)...

Sorry, but I work at entercom boston, which is the parent company of WAAF/WRKO/WEEI/WMKK and WAAF is broadcasting a 2 hour interview on Sunday with Axl, however it is not LIVE it was sent via CD and it is with Eddie Trunk.

No, I do work at one of the sisters stations to WAAF, I have even emailed Jarmo from my company email, althogh i would rather not be ID'd

why would they even replay an old interview thats pointless.
