I'd love to be your relay station but that's not a very good idea. you don't want to make international calls do you?  :-\

many familiar names!
the show will be great on many fronts.

I was able to pull up 2 for $57.50 by doing a price change.  I can't get the cheapest ones to come up though. I guess they just aren't selling that section at all.

They sold them for this show, and they sold out of the $39.50 tickets.  Best I can find upperdeck are in the 240 row 11 range, for $57.50.  T

Don't be ridiculous. No offence but this isn't exactly the trophy show for GN'R. MSG will be. If anything big is gonna happen at a gig, it will happen at MSG.

There are other cities besides New York.? In 2002, i think Axl commented on how much he loved Toronto during the show.  I'm sure the place will be packed and would be a good time for an announcement.

On the contrary. The bigger the show is, the smaller are the chances of them doing anything different, things with "potential to be a disaster".

I'm more inclined to believe (hoping actually) that CD comes out the day before the Toronto show... that way they get to play all the new stuff for us.? It doesn't make sense to have an announcement at a show, they need to make a press release to get the date out.

BTW, is there a chat going on tonight?

As great as it may sound to have a 3 or 4 disk set just think that drives the price up and will cut back on sales of the album. I would die for a mult-disk set but lets just hope for 1 disk that will soar up the charts so this band can get back into the US spot-light.

I got to a thinking... Chinese Democracy could be a double album... but wait it could be a Triple album??!!! Has anyone released a triple album before???

Prince released a 3 disc set, "Emancipation".  It sold a around 350,000 copies, so since each sale counted as three, it was considered a "platinum" album.

i just got back. show was great. Bach's set was pretty good, i was never a big skid row fan but it wasnt awful. Papa Roach surprised the heck out me. I really like them now. The lead singer has massive amounts of energy and his band can fuckin rock. The arean had plent of open seats in the lower section, and yes alot of people left around 1:00 a.m. I saw some people leave around 12:30.lol. GNR late start they said they were having technical difficulties with the keyboards. The sound was kinda off alot of the show. Better Axls vocals were so muffeled in the mix you couldnt understand what he was singing. Ron's solo-dont cry was amazing. My ears are still ringing. i'll post more about the show tomorrow it's off to bed for me.

Not surprised that a lot of people are saying this was an off night for GNR. Also not surprised that the arena was a bit empty. When you have a show at the Garden, only a fraction of people their are going to be from New York. It's a tri-state venue, people come from Penn, Conneticut, jersey, a lot of surrounding states. So most people in Jersey in my opinion, are going to that NY show

and as far as this jersey show goes...New Jersey is the armpit of America...anyone who's been there knows it's true. And it's funny to hear that people were throwing things, cuz when I saw VR at Starland Ballroom on New Years Eve last year, someone threw a water bottle at Scott Weiland's head. He was cool, called the kid a dick, and moved on, but I remember thinking "what is up with this jersey crowd?" Jersey people are a different breed.

But anyway, enough insulting NJ. 5 days to the real Guns and Roses show

Bach kicked ass, although his songs made me feel old(dated), GNR always sounds fresh to me still works in 2006.

Bach had a wild rant about ted nuggent it was awsome, ?said he(bach) lied on TV and did not stop drinking, also said if ted can run around killing shit all over the world he can have a drink. Fuck Him or something along those lines. ?

He really is a great entertainer and gets the crowd going, stopped one song until crowd got into it (part of act not in mad way).

PR was ok the beginning was slow but the end picked up nicely and got crowd going, but no more then bach, bach just had less people in seats. More people cheered for bach.

I mett jarmo and others after PR.

Frank was at side of stage waving his arms to thcrowd trying to get them pumped not many noticed him, i did ?:hihi:

about 20 min before gnr tech or somne said we have keyboard issues, once it is fixed the band will take the stage.

The Robin Finck Solo, Frank and Dizzy were both Jamming with Robin at times during solo.

After i think after ?lald Axl said we had tech diff earlier tonight, and this one he had nothing to do with, he is not to blame this time :hihi:

The place was 85% plus full at start of GnR.

It was a standing room only up until first solo, everybody in seats were standing. Crowd was pumped big time, now as the night wore on the crowd including me were getting tired.

Axl was in a great mood until something was thrown at the stage which I did not see and he warned them if they keep that shit up they will leave, he then said to point them out to security. But then he seemd OK again, so I do not know if this played a outcome of setlist and duration. Hell the show ended at 2am.

I was happy with everything no complaints. ?I did not see any mass exit for the doors during show until nightrain ended I told a few poeple you know the show is not over and they sat back down, but I would guess 20 to 25 % of people ran for doors. But during the course of the show before Night train maybe I would see one person here or there leaving, but to me that is normal.

After kohd you could tell the crowd was tired but still there when needed.

Frank tried between songs tried to keep people pumped.

I thought the show was awsome, a few songs axl mic was at times screwed up but no worse then when , PR or bach played, shit is never perfect live.

Crowd really jammed to better and CD. ?

Irs and blues ?got great reaction but not till songs were finished. I would say new songs got a good reception, and better and CD live sound awsome. Blus and Irs had issues with Axls mic levels but were great also.

Axl sounded better then May and I thought May he was perfect. AAAAAAAA++++++++++++++++
At times his mic levels were f'd but i do not think it was his voice.

I will add more when i get to work, more to add in about 2 hours

Also I never noticed how quiet Axl gets before.? His new vocals go from really really soft to really fucking loud.?

Well, that is bound to happen with running across the stage, distances from the mic, etc. and it probably isn't specific to his "new" vocals. The sound techs should be using plenty of compression to account for any variance in his volume.

On the other hand, once again, some people are saying they could hear him and he was great last night.

I'll make my own decision tonight.

I mean Alxls vocals were good its just that sometimes the music would drown him out.   As far as the volume thing it didn't have to do with fatigue.... it seemed like he had no compression.    The Verses vs. the Chorus for example.  Durring some verses I could barely hear Axl and at the Chorus he was the loudest thing in the mix.  Just an off night for most.

no, just about everyone has confirmed that the upper tier was about 1/2 full or so.  Still, a very good turnout for a Sunday night, with no album out, but not a sold-out or near-full arena either, at least from every report I read.

I'll post a review later. ?It was a great show, but a lame crowd!

Lets hope MSG is better. ?I was there and the show was just off. ?First off, this whole "it's rock & roll" and "we go when we want attitude" is fine. ?Except, if I were Axl and the band I wouldn't expect to pull this off on a return visit. ?People just won't come. ?

I think coming on at 11:30 PM eventually kills the show because the audience is worn out 1 hour in. ?The audience average age is +30, have jobs, kids, etc. and are not used to being up at a rock show until 2 AM in the morning. ?I'd love to say that a rock show is an escape but when I have to go into work the next day I sure wish that escape couls have happened between 10 PM and 12 AM (at the latest). ?Add in the solos and all momentum gets killed. ?I've seen GnR in '91, '92, '02, 4 shows at Hammerstein, and last night was the worst show by far. ? I guess what I'm saying is that continuing to play late is going to turn more fans off than on. ?Because basically at 2 AM, no matter how blistering a set is, you just don't have the energy anymore. ?The experience gets ruined and you leave feeling tired rather than feeling like you just saw the greatest frontman on the planent. ?The entire Gn'R experience would be a thousand times better if they just came on around 10 PM. ?I really think that the crowd was pupmed last night up until 12:30, but a few solos later and all the energy was gone and at 1 AM you're not getting that back. ?People were actually sleeping at a GnR concert. ?Sleeping!!! ?I was amazed. ?How can that be a good thing. ?No wonder the press has so much to pick on with this band. ?Oh, and get the sound fixed!!!! Papa Roach and Bach sounded fine, how can I barely hear Axl. ?Turn down some of the guitars and turn up his mic!! ?

Overall, ?a bad night. ?Hopefully ?MSG will be better. ?

im glad you said this, here is my wonderful story about the show last night. spent the day tailgaiting and got in when papa roach went on stage. anyway gnr comes out and i thought it was pretty good. not the best i have seen, but still awesome. the highlight for me was dizzy playing lynyrd skynyrd "tuesdays gone" as his piano solo. but as richard and robin were playing beautiful,  some guy behind us goes - "hey man, i didnt pay to see your ass." so i responded with something like - your at a f*cking rock concert. stand up. and then we were going back and forth saying sh*t  to each other and i just turned around to watch the show. so the usher comes down and tells us to sit down and my friend says that is ridiculous, i paid $100 for this ticket and nowhere does it say i have to sit. then the cops drag him out, i follow him and when i ask what happened three cops elbow me, throw me down, handcuff me and spray me like 4 times with mace. i basically got thrown out of the concert for standing. it was horrible.. one funny thing, gnr were playing out ta get me when it happened. now i have to go to court for standing during a gnr show...

The floor was full.

All lower level sections except for 2 sections in rear were full. ?And those 2 were pretty empty maybe 20 to 30 ?people in each .

Upper level all sections were half full. Some thiner then others.

Unless sold out you will always have 1 or 2 seats per row empty. Hell i had one next to me, I paid for it but had no one to fill it.

Breif summary I paid $410.00 for 4 tixs, I went and took my oldest (12) his pal who I paid for Tix also and still one empty seat, So was it worth it to me to pay $400 to see GNR , because lets face it I'm the fan not my kid at his age. Well YES IT WAS

Unfortunately I will have to agree with many of the reviews of this show thus far. Maybe its because Im spoiled by there MSG 02 performance or the 1st night at Hammerstein but this show was definately not up on that level.

I'm all for going on when you want and all that stuff, and I can enjoy the setlist even though Ive seen it a few times but there are drawbacks to all of that, especially the first part. Now for me Im 21 so I dont really care what time they go on. Time and GnR, Im never one to groan. But the non diehards around me do care. Going on at 11 40 takes away from the crowd energy and what the band has to offer. People were leaving because it was getting really late. I saw a few families there {wife dad and kids} and its ashame because I knew they didnt know what they were getting into in terms of time. And to see them leave halfway through the set is unfortunate.
 ?
?As for the solos. The solos at Hammerstein really urked the hell out of me but last night I enjoyed them. Particularly Robins solo. IMO, the best one Ive heard him do so far. And the band jams were really great. Particularly the one before NR if i remember right. But again. I do see people points about the solos. It kills the show at times. Maybe it wouldnt kill the show if they started around 10-1030. But when you go on at a quarter to 12, it will not be a positive to most ancy people in the crowd.

Next issue and my biggest beef...the sound. Maybe it was only where I was sitting {sec 123} but I could not hear Axl that great at all last night. I heard the band fine but the vocals were very choppys, muddy and sorta drowned out. Idk if thats because the instruments are way up or because the mic is down...Idk bout that tech stuff.. But either way you couldnt hear Axl well from where i was sitting. This is my biggest problem because when your spending 100-150+ bucks{tickets, parking food, etc} and ?waiting till almost midnight{WHICH I DONT CARE] the least I think I and we deserve is a crisp sound. Yea problems come up here and there but this is a major band with major ?money charging big bucks. The tech stuff should be first class...case closed. I dont think thats too mcuh to ask....

As for the crowd. IMO it was bad. 60-75% full and little energy. Again maybe its because Im expecting MSG and Hammerstein IDk. But when you can hear yourself sing, you know the crowd is dead. And as a result I dont bust out screaming gnr vocals because then all the people around will hear me lol...and i cant sing!...And it sux when people look at you weird when you are the only 1 in sight singing the new songs...lol

My highlights of the night were meeting many board members including Jarmo. He is a real cool guy. got to see Jaz, Bandito, Axl4 Prez{funny as hell}, and the Godfather himself, Steven and his friend from the board whos name escapes me as well as many others. All great people and great fans...

As for the show highlights:
KOHD was GREAT. Axls vocals on that were excellent. especially the last line he belted...
Better--sounded great imo
LALD
Robins Solo
and the Band Jams
The Blues

all were great. Axl was in a good mood and it seemed like we were gonna be in for a big show in terms of songs. He kept saying how he liked the arena and fans here etc. But towards the end I guess they didnt have the enrgy from the crowd to give us more. WHo knows....i dont blame them it was the best of crowds...due to numerous reasons....btw Frank is good so dont worry about it. Hes not Brain but hes an excellent drummer.

I know its not the most positive review but its an honest one. Seems like some other shows prior to this were better. So thats good. Cause all I have been reading from fans and the press have been positive stuff.

Im sure everything will reach my level of expectation when they hit MSG Friday night....

see ya all there

and again...great seeing everyone!

It was a standing room only up until first solo, everybody in seats were standing. Crowd was pumped big time, now as the night wore on the crowd including me were getting tired.

im glad you said this, here is my wonderful story about the show last night. spent the day tailgaiting and got in when papa roach went on stage. anyway gnr comes out and i thought it was pretty good. not the best i have seen, but still awesome. the highlight for me was dizzy playing lynyrd skynyrd "tuesdays gone" as his piano solo. but as richard and robin were playing beautiful,  some guy behind us goes - "hey man, i didnt pay to see your ass." so i responded with something like - your at a f*cking rock concert. stand up. and then we were going back and forth saying sh*t  to each other and i just turned around to watch the show. so the usher comes down and tells us to sit down and my friend says that is ridiculous, i paid $100 for this ticket and nowhere does it say i have to sit. then the cops drag him out, i follow him and when i ask what happened three cops elbow me, throw me down, handcuff me and spray me like 4 times with mace. i basically got thrown out of the concert for standing. it was horrible.. one funny thing, gnr were playing out ta get me when it happened. now i have to go to court for standing during a gnr show...

Sounds like the way I got treated at the Hammerstein.  That sucks bro... I stood the whole time in section 122

This "ok" show bullshit is just that...bullshit. It was an awesome show. I understand how having a crappy crowd around you can dull a great show, but the band was so on and the crowd was great where I was. GNR came out just under an hour after Papa Roach finished and about 20 minutes of that was due to a problem with the keyboard (which anyone close enough could see coming a mile away. It seemed like every two minutes some guy went up to it and played around). Enough with the show being too late. They came on a reasonable interval after Papa Roach. Sorry everyone, but Axl is on his own time. He has been for years and years and anyone who thinks he's going to change his living schedule for people that want to go to bed at 11:00 is a moron. Accept it already.
? ? ? ? ? ? Now, as much as I love Brain, this Frank guy was really great. Not as good of a drummer as Brain but what he lacked in technical skill he made up for in heart. This dude was obviously really enjoying himself. He kept pounding the drums to the tune to keep the crowd pumped between songs. He and Axl had great interaction. And speaking of Axl, he seemed to be in the best mood I'd ever seen him in and I was at Hammerstein (night 3). Smiling and laughing and talking quite a bit to the crowd. Even when he told people to not throw stuff on the stage he didn't seem that pissed. Very matter of fact. Everyone else was on as well. Tommy was playing to the crowd more so than I've noticed before and Fortus is always a pleasure to watch.
? ? ? ? ? ? The solos were great. Finck's solo with Frank on drums was one of the greatest solos I have ever seen. Pure blues, pure soul. It was incredible. Dizzy's "Tuesday's Gone" was great as well as was "Beautiful". All in all the show was really fantastic. I was hoping for "You're Crazy" but maybe next time. GNR played for about 2 hours and 20 minutes and all the people around me were really into it (I was on the floor so I didn't have any tired losers around me. Everyone was very excited though a few people left after Nightrain). The band put on a great show in spite of a few technical difficulties (bummer about Bumblefoot's problem on Nightrain). When Axl's vocals were a little low (which they were at times) he just kept singing and the band kept playing. They didn't let anything bother them, they just put on a great show. Can't wait to see them again on Friday! I hope they play with as much energy.

I walked into the Continental Airlines Arena knowing they wouldn't go on till around 11:30.  The wait was nothing for me, because I always miss the opening acts for GNR.  That is the key to conserving your energy.  I also took off work today.  That being said, I had a great time.  The fans were well behaved, and I thought the show was awesome.  It was the best behaved GNR fans I have ever seen - and that's a good thing.  I got everything I expected.  Great show by Axl, and I loved Frank's drumming.  Looking forward to M-S-G this Friday night baby.  I am staying at a nearby hotel in NYC, so I will pregame in the room, and then enter MSG around 10:30-10:45.  Then hangout a little before the show and enjoy the concert.

Note to all of you , if you are going to see axl rose , be sure to request the next day off from work.If you are 30+ and have  kids and married , take the next day off, inform the wife the the honey dues are not doable . And plan on chilling the next day.

I have seen Metallica so many times , and never even  pondered going into work the next day.Or mowing the yard , patching the roof taking a final's exam or even washing my self off the couch

just think about it...

Not for nothing but I am aware of the "late" show times and I will be showing up somewherea round 10-10:30.  I could care less when they come on - I took the next day off from work so I don't have to worry about that.  I have let the other 5 people i'm going with know when they went on the last 5 shows so they will know what to expect.

It is, what it is . . .  there is nothing you can really do about it - so just roll with it

Them coming on late gave me the chance to drink more beer.  Fucking seven dollars a beer, I was fucking bored.

THE HIGHLIGHT OF MY NIGHT WAS SEEING SOME CHICK GIVE A GUY HEAD IN THE BATHROOM UNDER THE STALL.  NO ONE WANTED TO SAY ANYTHING BUT I DID, AND I THINK I RUINED HIS NIGHT LOL.

SORRY I WAS FUCKING BORED AND NOT GETTING ANY MYSELF.

Ive never heard so many bitches in my life. If you want to get some quality shut eye check out the next kenny G show I hear he goes on Promptly every night and all the fans are quietly seated and well behaved.

People aren't bitching about the shows. ?But if you honestly think that going on at 11:30 is a great way to win over new fans, or a way to get the old ones (who aren't familiar with the band anymore) back onboard, then you're mistaken. ?

To put it into perspective: ?Think about a band that you're a casual fan of. ?If they made you wait until 11:30 to go on, and then someone said "Oh, you should've read the press release," would that be sufficient for you.

Again - I'm not saying that I really care that they go on late. ?But we have to think of the bigger picture here, and who the band is playing to every night.

The best show in 2002 was MSG. ?Why? ?Not because it was New York, or the fans are so great there, but because the show started around 9:45. ?Everyone had energy and the energy juts built. ?I guarantee if they start the show at midnight this Friday it won't be the party everyone is ecpecting. ?If G N' R wants to do this right then they should grow up. ?They are not Led Zeppelin. ?Mayby 15 years ago they were and they could do this, but they are no longer the worldwide event that everyone was kept up just waiting in anticipation. ?This is a reconstituted Guns N Roses, and they need to re-build it all from scratch. ?Treating your last remaining fans like dirt will not help the building process. ?

People were asleep in the arena. ?How can that be a good thing?!! ?That is just plain awful. ?This is not a club. ?A club attracts people that are used to going out late and staying out late. ?This is an arena that attracts the MAJORITY of its people that expect to be home in time and have had a great show for the $100+ they are spending in tickets, parking, concessions, etc.

Anyone who defends the late times lives in a silo. ?They are bad for business and customer satisfaction. ?It is not 1991!!! ?

A concert is a one-shot deal... it's not like the band is playing every week in your city and ruining your precious timetables on a consistent basis. ?So suck it up! ?Catch up on your sleep the next night or like someone already said... take the next day off!

Beer prices at an arena are one thig to complain about... but a rock band starting a concert "late"? ?Give me a beak!

I wish the show started earlier also, but the poeple on this board should know by now what to expect.

It was a Sunday and the crowd was diffrent it was a working class crowd, not the younger party crowd at the Hammerstien in May.

Hell I was fucking tired too, but I hung with it the best I could. Same show on a Thur, Fri or Sat would of kicked ass.

The crowd being laid back sleeping is not the bands fualt, yea thye could of come on earlier but really how much earlier, Back did not start till 8: 30 as scheduled and the times between acts was not excessive like we have seen in the past.

Maybe it all comes down to the venue requested a 8:30 start to aid in getting giants fans away from site first, if bach would start at 7:30 everything would be much better. ?

Best case scenario if GNR came on at 11 it still would of been 1:30 till it was over, and in my book what is 30 more minutes on a work night when it is already hours past your bed time. ?

There was no fucking around between sets when shit was ready they played.

I took my 12 year old and his friend, we were all tired, hell we got home at 4AM. Slept very little, we are all at work or school. ?:peace:

My review:

Got there around 7, met up with the htgth thing in the parking lot. Met some really cool people, met Jarmo real quick, met a bunch of people from all different boards, it was fun.

Went inside around 8 checked out my seats they were in 125 very nice. Bach came on, did some yelling, screamed new jersey a bunch of times and played 18 and life it was pretty good. he puts on a good show. P-roach came out, they were alright, they have a lot of songs that seem to come off better live. after papa roach the wait began. After about only a half hour, you could see Frank behind the stage sort of "air drumming" and acting all excited like they were about to go on stage. But 5 minutes later they made an announcement over the PA (which, when it started, flashed me back to philly and made my fucking heart stop) saying that "Axl and company and are in the building, but we are having technical problems with the keyboards. Once that's fixed GNR are coming out. To this question, I screamed "Which keyboard" which fell on deaf ears in a crowd of really lame new jerseyians. I'll get into how dissapointed I am at my states response to GNR later.

After about another 20 minutes or so, at like 11:30, the lights went out and the intro started. Robin came out and did the little jungle riff, and they went through the usual set list. The sound, especially on the first 4 songs, didn't favor Axl. The music is so incredibily loud that it's impossible at times to hear Axl's amazing voice. At other times, however, the sound seemed fine. The band themselves kicked all kinds of ass. Frank is awesome, my new fucking idol. I've read people complaining about the little drum beat thing he kept doing to get the "Guns N' Roses" chant going in between songs, but those people are lazy bastards who don't want to chant guns n' roses. It was fun as hell, and he kept like standing up and motioning to the crowd - he was so fucking into it.

Robin did his solo, with Dizzy on keyboards and Frank drumming. It was in a word Unbelieveable. I mean, a total change from a regular noodling kind of show off solo. It was sort of bluesy but heavy, it was absolutely amazing. I hope a recording of it shows up. It was just intense I loved it. They then ran through the rest of the set, with some drama happening when some bon jovi concert rejects decided to start throwing shit at the band. Axl said basically that we were an awesome crowd and he's having an awesome time, so stop throwing shit and if you see anyone being an asshole point them out to security. They did Used To Love Her, which sounded great. I.R.S. was incredible live as it has been every time I've went. Chinese Democracy opened the encore, and it was by far my favorite of the night. Absolutely incredible the way the song has grown since 2001 into what it is now. When I see Robin play the intro, I think to myself "this is why i came here" it's just that good.

Ok, so now for the crowd and the sound. First off, Continental is known for shitty sound. It's a fucking shithole built on a landfill in new jersey. I had never seen a concert there myself, and I sort of doubted what all my friends have told me about it being "the worst place to see a concert." A friend of mine who saw NIN there said it was basically "inaudible" at times. I couldn't believe how poor the acoustics were. I know it's no hammerstein, but it was god awful at times. And what sucked was that you could tell that the band was kicking total ass and playing spot on but the shitty sound took away from it a bit. And the CROWD. Wow, I've waited a long time for last night, to see GNR in New Jersey, 5 minutes from my home. I had hoped for the crowd to not be a bunch of fucking LAME ASS motherfuckers who just stand there even in the pit during Out Ta Get Me. It was so sad. I hate screaming at concerts, but I felt I had to just because no one seemed to fucking care too much. Now I have very little voice today :) It's fun to sing the new songs, but it didn't have the same feel as Hammerstein because no one around me seemed to know the words. At NYC you could look around and always see a couple other people singing the leaks and know you were in a cool crowd. And there was also a lot of fucking old people who just are completely incapable of handling alocoholic beverages anymore, and then when those wore off they basically just sat there looking like half-sleeping members of a bon jovi cover band.

So yeah, it was a great show in a shitty arena. It was cool to see Guns play my home state, though. The band is amazing, and they seem to really be hitting their stride right now and it comes through on stage.

I was in the front row against the gate...almost center stage....the crowd around me was great.. This whole "they came on stage too late, we are in our 30's and have jobs" bullshit never seems to end..If you know anything about the band...and if you are posting on this board you obviously do, you know what to expect..I am so sick of hearing about people and their jobs..one day of being tired is NOT GOING TO KILL YOU....I had to get up early today, Im not bitching about the time the show started...i was prepared for it...The show was great by the way...Just to clarify..I dont know what shows you guys are going to, but whoever says GNR's core audience is over 30 is insane.. I have seen this new band 5 times, and everytime the majority of the crowd looked like they were in their teens nevermind 30's.. in all honesty i think 65-75 percent of the crowd was under 25...anyway Im tired as hell today...but guess what I'll sleep TONIGHT..people who complain about every little detail of the show..why do you even go?

Great Review agree 100%

When I go to a GNR concert I know they wont come on until 11-12pm and I plan my day (and the next) from there.

To bitch is a waste of time. This is rock n roll, not Barbra Streisand Tour 2006

I honestly think some people on this board care more about the commercial success of the band and how many people come to the shoes than Axl and the band does. That?s why I don?t think it matters what time they go on. Id rather wait untill the band is ready and have a killer show than have them come on when they arnt ready so that some whining poser of a fan can get his beauty sleep before he goes to work the next day. This is Guns n Roses not adult contemporary bullshit.

Imagine

"new jersey.......Good Fuckin Night!, I hope everyone sleeps well....so that tey can have a productve work/school day.....yowwwwwwzer!"

I just dont think that would fly commercially or with the die hards

I disagree.  Just because you are at a rock concert doesn't give you the right to touch me.  I hate it when other dudes touch me at concerts.  If it was a hot girl I wouldn't mind.....

i cant review the show too much since i got kicked out during out ta get me so here are just a few comments:
- Robin's solo was amazing, i thought it had a really cool bluesy feel.
- Dizzy playing "Tuesdays Gone" sounded really really good
- The sound kind of sucked
- The crowd kind of sucked (which led to me getting kicked out for standing)
- I went with one of the biggest GNR fans I know. He doesnt know anything about the new band or the new songs. He said that the band was right on point and he was skeptical at first, but they made him forget about the old band
- i am feeling like crap at work to day but it is not because of the late start (its because of the mace and the elbows from the cops.) I am sick of hearing people complain about it. I dont like that they play so late, but we all know thats what happens. Id rather see them go on at 11:30 and play for over 2 hours than have them go on at 10:00 and play for an hour. Yeah it sucks that they play so late, but there is no use in constantly complaining about it because there is nothiing we can do about it.

I loved meeting everyone from the board last night.  Jaz, Bandita, Axel4prez, Younggunner and Jarmo, you guys all rock.  I especially loved meeting Axel4prez's brother-in-law and seeing his new gnr ink!  I hope someone posts a picture of that.

The sound was terrible last night...where I was sitting, everything sounded muffled.  I kept thinking that they needed to crank it up too.  This was my 5 show of '06, and if I had to put them in order it would be #5.  Mostly because of the sound, but also the crowd was so lame.  There were people asleep in front of us and most people in my section sat the whole time (I was lower level off to the right of stage).  I did enjoy the solos for the first time and had a great time with the person I was with.

I enjoy seeing my all-time favorite band any chance I get...but wasn't an epic show by any means.  I think MSG will rock!

EXACTLY...and that is the reason we have something called VACATION DAYS. Shit, going to see a gnr show is worth being tired the next day for. God...some people just aren't very rock n' roll.....

I HOPE I DIE BEFORE I GET OLD!! :)

yeah that? sounds about right.? In front of me in section 201( straight foward from center stage and 2nd level) people were sleeping, maybe there buzz wore off from watching football or something, but yeah they were lame as shit.

What gets to me, is the cellphone addicts who pay $100 to sit and text their assclown friends through the whole show.

Jersey rocked.

Nice to see how they've changed certain things since Europe. For example, Robin's solo was more like jam now.

Anyway, no time to give details, Portland is next.

Thanks to everybody who showed up in the parking lot and who I met inside the venue. It was nice meeting you all.

Special mention to the guys from Jersey in the white car.

well, I only texted during papa roach (they are simply awful, nothing else can describe it).  I liked when the morons opened up their little mosh or whatever the hell you call it where they run into each other" ring to try to get hyped up for that shit and somebody pulled a fat guy in who just wrecked everybody, then somebody caught him offguard, knocked him down, and he went berserk.  I think he was either fucked up because of alcohol or got knocked silly, cause I was standing right at the back of the rail where the walkway to the VIP GA was and he couldnt figure out how to get to the other side of me and the rail(he had to walk two steps to his right, one step forward, and make a left)

And like I said in another thread (although I'm adding a couple more details) I refereed two boys high school games, got in the car, drove 2 hours there, stood all night, then got back in and caught a break cause it only took 1.5 hours to get home, got 3 hours of sleep, then went in at 730 to teach crazy middle school kids.  I love the people that leave at like 1-- you think you're really gonna be any less tired if you get 1 more hour of sleep, and isnt worth it to hang around and lose that hour if you're there to see GNR in the first place?

Its simple...rock n' roll...and def. GnR..divides the men from the boys and the women from the girls...

I'm in my early 30s and my friend and I have gone many sleepless nights to work the next day....on the simple high of caffenine and the "after concert buzz" that always keeps ya from sleeping anyway....If you're a real fan...or "get" GnR ....you'd understand that whole fuck work...fuck authority thing...hell we spend so much time having to be adults and doing what "the man" says...we all need a late night out..no matter what you're age is. The boss can live a day without you and if you're the boss...your employees will be happy to learn you won't be there for a day!

 ?Hey there Guns Fans!!!!!!

Yo,I actually made it to THIS show!! I wasn't online the last few days to see who was going, etc.,so that sucks I didn't meet up with you before hand.
I wasn't even sure 100% that I was going until late in the week.

A very cool person(s) hooked up myself,my older brother,Mark,my best friend<Patrick, and younger brother,Joe,with VIP GA tickets for the floor!!! ?
The 4 of us were supposed to go to the 12/06/02 show that ended in the riot,so it was very cool to Finally(!) have this come to fruition!! It was also Joe's 1st GN'R show ever!! ?

Mark,Pat and I saw them with another fella waaaaay back on December 17th,1991 in Philly.
We were a helluva lot closer this time around!!

Got there a bit late,(left Philly later than we wanted to),and got inside while Sebastian Bach was on....walked in on "Monkey Business" which was cool. Bach sounded strong as usual. First time seeing him perform,(save the last Hammerstein show) and I was sorry we got there late. Papa Roach was pretty good,(I am a fan) and Pat also thought so and he hates nu-metal.

Then the wait began.....

I don't really care what time they come on,I was just concerned that they might cancel again. After Dec. of '02,I won't be satisfied until I see Axl hit that stage. He could come out playing a uekele while riding a unicycle....I wouldn't care! As long as he's there, that's all that matters!!!
At 11:15,an announcer (Matt Pinfield?) came over the PA system..."Ladies and Gentleman...."
My mouth fuckin' dropped open...I'm thinking 'Not again,no fuckin' way, don't fuckin' do this to me again!' I thought he was gonna say " Tonight's show has been canceled due to....." and then the place probably would've erupted.
"...Guns N' Roses are almost ready to start the show, they're just having some technical difficulties with the keyboards..."

Wow. What a fuckin' weight off of my chest. I was happy that it wasn't what we thought and I didn't have to fight some jerkoff at another GN'R show again because they canceled.

I was pretty much all the way up front, slightly to the left of the stage, about 3 people from the barricade.
The band stormed the stage!!! And all was right in the universe. It's amazing to read the contrast of the reviews. The 4 of us thought the sound was great, the band was super-tight,Axl was dead-on and they had just enough pyro. We did Frank and his beggin for GN'R chants got old after the 2nd time, even if he played great.

Some of the people around me seemed listless, while others were jumping around like lunatics with me! I met some girl named Katie and her friend Ellie(who was wasted and a pain in the ass) some dude from Colombia,a short fella from NYC named John and a real tall dude named Brian (I'm 6'2" and he was over me!).
Brian and I were and some other guy were the only ones that knew all of the words to the new songs, which was kinda cool,'cause we were rockin' and we felt exclusive.

Also,I started (along with Brian) the crowd on the floor singing along to Bumblefoot's "Don't Cry" solo. Someone had to do it!! ?;D ?People seemed to wonder at first what were singing and then figured it out and joined in. During that time,a girl behind us said,"You're not Slash!" towards BBF and I yelled back immediately "Slash who?!? Slash is doing a Volkswagon commercial!" Everyone within earshot all laughed.

I had soooo much fun,got some great pics of the band, and also got a guitar pic that Axl through out along with some confetti. We left the arena at 2:30 or so and I got in bed at 5:30 am. Thank God I didn't have to work today!

I'm sure I'm forgetting something but, that's the gist.
All in all,a great fuckin' show. I saw them in May and man,...it just doesn't get old.

?Thank you to Axl and the band!! You rocked!! : ok:

 ? ? ? ? ? ?GN'R FOREVER!!

 ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?MATT

I was just looking over the setlist for the Nov. 5 Continental show. November Rain was performed but does not seem to be on the list.

Also, this is a rock and roll show. I hate that people whine so much about how late the show was, etc. etc. I think this is what makes a Guns show unique.

And let me add this. Why was the crowd so boring???? I saw the original lineup years ago and there was so much more energy at the show. In fact, it was quite entertaining waiting for the band to come out on stage. I saw them at Nassau and MSG. Both shows had lots of rocking music during intermission and lots of flashing boobs. At this show it seemed people were more into just sticking their fingers up their butts.

Come on people, wake up and enjoy life.

I am baffled.  Why would somebody pay so much money to stand on the floor of a Guns N Fuckin' Roses concert, to just stand in one spot looking pissed off.  Before Guns even hit the stage you could just feel this negative vibe.  I was thinking to myself, "Why isn't anybody smiling?  Is it a New Jersey thing?  Is it a metropolitan area thing?"  I don't know.  Can anybody explain this to me?

Matt a Real Fan, I swear that was me near you at the show.  I'm glad you made it to that spot.  Great times.   :peace:

were you sitting on stage right? I was wondering if anybody saw me and my friends get thrown out for standing and not sitting in our seats. I dont think there wasnt anybody from the board on that side because nobody was really going crazy over there. just a bunch of people sitting down.

WHAT?!??! You got thrown out for standing on the seats? That's bullshit.

The shows I was at, I stood through most of the set, and I had a seat.

Well ok, now I am back from work, and gotta say ot was a fun time, and not gonna go to much into the entire thing , but as I said earlier it as alot of fun, hanging out and chatting with board members, , (sexkitten you totally rock, we ran into each otehr a bunch of times throughout the show! Winers loungue!.

Anyway I went to this show not knowing I was even gonna make it, but friday night, a friend of mine called and said that he had gotten 4 comp tix, from someone who works at clear channel and he invited me. I was totally stoke, all was well, but he hs this fiance, who isnt a real GNR fan, and kept makng his life miserable, well I gues along with all the alchohol and hallucenigenics  things can get a bit nuts, anyway, watched Bach, great set, walked in to the seats my self while the others were still in the bar. And chilled . During P.R, I spewnt the time walkng around the arena, chatting with people, getting a beer here and there, they sounded pretty good, and you could hear pretty well in the corridors.

So GNR , comeson the frines I were with were outta it, arguing, and I was just my self kinda just not paying atention to the bullshit and rockng out. WTTJ, can on and things did explode!. From my area, to the right of the stage, I hd no problems hearing, Axl or the band, they seriously were spot on, but I have ben to shows there before and I understand that this venue, is definilty not know for its great acoustics, hell the worst sounding show I ever heard was Boston there in the late 80s, sound really sucked, and I know they are a great live band. Anyway, shows moving on nice, Im on my feet as a bunch in my section, cept my firends that invited me, all moping and shit, and being completely outa it. I decide fuck this, I go down to the lower level get almost right ext to the right side of the stage. And spent the resst of the concert, rocking out there. I did knowtice, that there were some lame ass people , who were sittng, totally comotose, wtf.!, BUt as I said from that vantage , the sound was good, and the band on fire, when the blues came on I yelled come on Axl jump on the piano, dont know if he heard, but he did, and I was like fuck yeah!. Was great to hear USed to love her, cause I hadnt for many yrs, live. And I did knowtice that rons guitar was having "td's. And it did take away form the outro of the song. EVen though you could se he was playnig the shit outa it. Axl had come back on and they kinda ended quick.

CD was awesome , I love how it sounds more and more, and PC was as always a great way to end.

So now after losing my voice, and thouroughly enjoyed my self, I go back to where the car was parked!. And guess what < NO FUCKNG CAR!, Im like WTF, they left!

That was pretty fucked uped!. INvite me , and then leave me in NJ!.lol Ah well I take everything in stride, saw IFINGLOVEVR , and he as trynig to help out this dude who was hanging out at the preparty area, to get back to NY, alex, I think his name was, and I was like dude, come on there are busses, to time square, so we walked over to the bus area, talked about how great the show was, cost 5$ to take the shuttle bus back to Times sq, we just went over great parts of the show, got off the bus, we walked a block to the train he needed to take back to queens, I was invited to an after hrs party, but I was to exausted to go, when a friend called my cell, I jsut walked up to 7th ave got on the R train, and was hoome 35 mins later!. I had a fucking blast!

Sorry this is coming so late, but just a quick little rundown of the show ? Seeing all 5 of the last shows in New York (including last MSG), the crowd was the least intense, which sucks. I understand it?s late on Sunday night, but I was disappointed in the response. Axl was pissed by it too, you could tell. But the show was still great. The band really stepped it up and put forth a great show. They looked like they were having a great time (especially Frank ? cool guy). Knocking on Heaven?s Door was unbelievable (not normally one of my favorites, but Axl sounded awesome). It was also nice seeing ?Used to Love Her?, cause that was the only song I hadn?t heard them play yet live. That?s just a quick rundown. I got a lot of great pictures, and here are a few I really like. I also have a short video of Live and Let Die I?ll try and get up soon. Can?t wait for Friday!!!

Jaz, you rock!  I had a ton of fun with you.  I'm dying to hear what happened to that Iron Maiden/harley dude you guys were hangin with?  He was killing me!  I also can't believe your friends left...they suck, esp. that chick!  It was easy taking the bus.

I agree....CD sounded great and had the best sound of the whole show.  Can't wait to party with you again at msg!

xoxo,
