Someone posted a tracklist on the Rollingstone.com G N' R message board. If it is true, we have heard about 7 or 8 of the 13 new tracks...

The supposed tracklisting for the album:

I don't think they'd put TWAT next to the Blues.

What is wrong about it?

One being This I Love will not be on the album.
Either will Catcher In The Rye  :'(
Sorry won't be the last song.
TWAT will be towards the end, and not next to The Blues
There will deffinetly be atleast a few "unheard of" song titles.
And its obvious that setlist is fake because.. urgh, it just is. Trust me.

Idont think Catcher or This I love will be on CD. Riyadh I dont see being on it either

The funny thing about this kind of shit is how as soon as we hear about new songs we never heard of, or like in the past a band member says a certain song will be on the album, one of these tracklists pops up.

If a fake tracklist had popped up 2 weeks ago, we know what 2 songs wouldnt have been on there. It would have been something like Thyme and Oklahoma instead.

Fortus said that CITR is on the CD in regards to a question he answered from a fan.

This I Love is supposed to be November Rain of this album. ?It a song that Axl put alot of soul and effort in according to qoutes from various people who have worked on the album.

This I love is axls ace in the whole. I bet its not on CD and he will wait incase CD flops. This I love is the holy grail for gnr fans. As for Fortus saying CITR is on, who knows, I hope its off since we have a studio version basically. Id rather have a song we have not heard yet, and citr can be on the next. If find it odd CITR is not on the set list and it leaked out You would think if its on CD it would be an option

True.  I would also like to see a different song than CITR, not because I don't like it (It is probably my favorite leak other than TWAT), but because it allow us to hear another song that we don't have yet

He makes a good point. ?If CITR was going to be on the album, they would be playing it along with the other leaks.

Have you noticed at the end of the CITR leak that there's a glitch in it? That's because it's not a direct CD rip. It sounds like a recording either through software or straight up recording equipment while the song was playing from some other source. I think "Better," "I.R.S.," and "TWAT" were leaked either by managment themselves or management at least approved it happening. That's why those 3 have been played live. CITR was a completely unintentional leak I think.

what about General or Thyme, weren't those rumored to be worked on by Marco Beltrami or Paul Buckmaster?

I don't think it's fair to say one song is, like, Axl's "Stairway."  We know nothing about "this I love." Wasn't that going to be on the Robin Williams movie "what dreams may come?"

Anyway, Richard said CITR is on CD and I sure hope so!

seems TOO plausible which makes me skeptical...supposedly the guy has 30 songs and every one that made the album are songs we've already heard or have heard mentioned...minus Silkworms...

At first, I completely dismissed this because a few aforementioned titles aren't on it, however, there's no reason to indicate that this would be false simply because "The General" and "Thyme" aren't on there.  Perhaps they were saved for future releases?  I'll take this at face value for now. 

I mean, seeing as we are in the first week of November, and assuming the record will be out this year, you would think that this information would have to make it's way out sooner or later, and eventually, someone's going to be accurate.

At this point, who's going to believe anything that gets floated....there's been so many off-the-wall rumors...if Axl Rose himself posted that CD list we still wouldn't believe him.

It's almost a certainty that half of the board will reject a release date, if one is posted at all, even if it's by GNR themselves.

The fact of the matter is,  nobody on any GNR board knows the tracklisting and if they say they do, they're full of shit. For the past four years people have been posting their "rumored tracklistings" and what they heard from "inside sources" and not one single one ever included "Sorry" - nobody even knew the damn song existed before Baz mentioned it a few weeks ago.

That is a good thing because it means there are songs they made we have never heard the title of before. I think we will get 3 or 4 song titles we have not heard before. Sorry and If the world being two of them. but you are wrong, its just like BETTER, no one ever had that song on the list ESP the so called insider board and now we know its a song

It's too convenient that this list shows up only days after we get wind of "If the World," but at least 3/4 of that setlist is plausible if not absolutely correct.

CITR is the wildcard - I love the song, but based on Axl's reaction after being questioned about it, I'm skeptical as to whether it will show up on this particular record. Maybe on the second or third, but not this one.

As for "Thyme" and "The General" - Don't count on hearing these on CD. Something tells me they were swapped out, just like CITR likely was, for a future album.

I'm curious, am I the only one who doesn't like the songs Chinese Democracy and Madagascar?  They're alright but I'd rather not listen to them more than once.  I think Better, Catcher in the Rye and There was a Time are much better songs.

Why does anyone hope to have songs they've never heard on CD? Whatever ends up on the record will be the best of the bunch. If Catcher In The Rye is left out it will be because something better has replaced it, so don't worry.

CD rocks, but I don't listen too it much. I hate listening to livesongs that I haven't heard studioversions of. I agree with Madagascar, beginning to be pretty bored with it. Wouldn't mind having it as a b-side or putting it on a different album. Maybe the studioversion will surprise me though.

Agreed, things seem to change quick with this project, an email from any band member but Axl that refers to the album take with a pinch of salt, not because they are lieing, but because things will have changed several times between the email and any new album info coming out.

This I Love may well be on the album it may not I would speculate at not simply because it hasn't been mentioned in any formal way for several years now. When was the last time it was mentioned by anyone but us, 1999-2000?

Again I doubt CITR simply due the fact that they know we've heard it, I see no reason why it wouldn't have been played by now if it's an album song.

At this point in time the most reasoned guess for the CD setlist so far is (in no particular order)

I think it's safe to say those 9 will appear on the album with possibly Rhiad, leaving 3 or 4 unknown tracks as of now.

I feel the same way. I just find those songs relatively boring for some reason.

I don't know why exactly people are ssuming there is a song called "if the world". I mean, yeah it's possible but just because it was on a setlist like that doesn't mean that's what the song is called. Most the time, songs on setlists abbreviated, for example they just put crazy for "you're crazy" and with bands liek cheap trick instead of "auf wiedersehen", they just write auffie. So, there's a good chance, it's not gunna just be called "if the world"

So what? It's the only title we have, and that's why we're using it. There's no point in speculating that a song might have another name because you don't like the current one.

The song is 6  years old now. Also in 2000 and 2002 it was the best new gnr song in most fans eyes, now TWAT and Better and maybe even CITR are better. So just think, there is bound to be a song better than TWAT which is going to be mind blowiong

I never said I didn't like the name(I don't know where you got that from). I just stated that, it could be something different but who knows.

We can only hope.  I guess the thing is GNR fans are starving for information.  We certainly are the most patient lot but we're getting excited.  I know things have been mentioned before of what will or will not be on the album, but truth be told it's anyone's guess.

Yeah, I've contemplated that myself. I just know Axls got an Estranged and Don't Damn Me up his sleeve. Those two, or one, is what I'm looking forward to the most with CD.

Ok. I just feel the reason for all the speculation around that title is because alot of people don't like it. Maybe it reminds them of My World, I don't know :smoking:

First, I don't see ANY reason for This I Love to not be on the album.

This is Axl's last chance for a comeback.

I say it is either on the album, or we will never hear it. There is no good reason to hold it back. This album has to be perfect, you don't hold back your best song after 10 years.

I agree with whoever said that the reason that CITR isn't played is because it wasn't an intentional leak. It's different quality, hasn't been mentioned by anyone except Richard saying it will be on the album.  Pretty sure it stays on the album.

Rhiad will be on the album, or at the very least, a B-side. Otherwise, why rehearse it?

Are you sure? I don't remember Axl discussing the tracklist.

I think he's right. If I'm correct they talked a little about the origin of the song etc.

It came up when they were talking about Brian May being on the album. It wasn't mentioned by name, but they were obviously referring to CITR.

i listened to it yesterday, and the mans right, axl said some songs were still undecided if they were gonna end up on CD or the follow up among them were CITR and he also said that the leaked one was an early demo and it was not sure that brian may would end up on the new version

In all fairness, they didn't state things for confirmd fact.  I think things had been changing then through force of circumstances.
in this age of internet, it's hard to imagine these friends not having closely kept in touch with each other.

Rhiad doesn't sound that bad.. I think for starters there isn't a real good sounding bootleg of this song for us to be able to judge, and they only really played it scarcely on the 02 tour, when Axl's voice particularly was still a bit rough.. I'm sure it has potential, well wait and see

Rhiad and the Bedouins, is a horrible song.  I really hope it's not on the cd.  CITR is a great song it better be on the new one.

I'm sure they will put a great, SOLID album. I do not believe they are concerned about releasing songs WE have not heard yet. This is an album, not a rarities collection. What is "old" to us is new to others.

Axl & Co are gonna put 13 tracks of the best material that they have at this point and time.  Cant see Ruyad being on there and cant imagine Catcher NOT being on there.  Also who the heck knows whats gonna be on there, what about The General, Suckerpunched, Atlas Shrugged, Thyme, Friend or Foe, etc ???

and even those may not be set in stone, who knows if things have changed between then and now!!

The fact is there is no public tracklist yet and speculation is fruitless. People have mentioned various things at various times...Axl included. I have no expectations at this point, none. I'll be happy with an album and am not going to quibble over songs on and songs left off. : ok: Let Fate handle it's own business.

I think it's funny how, till 2005, there were A LOT of rumoured tracklists just like this one.. Of course, it didn't have Better, Sorry or If The World.. :hihi:

I dont believe that Rhiad is Oklahoma. It makes no sense. Look, Riyadh is the capital of Saudi Arabia and a bedouin is an Arab of any of the nomadic tribes of the Arabian, Syrian, Nubian, or Sahara deserts.

Now the description of Oklahoma goes like this, from Rolling Stone:

Yeah, I admit it doesn't really fit. I think it was some kind of rumor or what not a couple of years back, and it's been stuck in the back of my head since. Don't remember the details, but I believe there were some sort of sense behind it.

Even though it is a rumour, this appears to make sense.

Rhiad - Played a few times live, and appears to be rehearsed and ready to play live again in 2006.
CITR - Fortus mentioned it would be on CD.
Prostitute - The Big Gun.
Sorry - Bach heard the song. He mentioned it being on CD.
Seven - Mentioned by Beltrami (or was someone else?) as being one of the better songs he has heard.
This I Love - This one I'm not sure about. I know Axl had this song complete back in the 90's.

Anyone have a connection at ASCAP?  We could just call them up and see what songs have been registered?

Out of curiosity, I ran a search at ASCAP.com for Performers = Guns Roses (I left out the N', because I wanted to get entries for Guns and Roses and Guns & Roses as well).  None of the new songs are listed.

Yeah, I tried that too.  Oh My God isn't on there either though...I even tried calling to get a complete registry...no luck.

BUT...only one new Gwen stefani song is on there so I guess that doesn't mean much...

this 13 songs on cd theory came from the rs short interview at korn party this jan. that says

"We're working on thirty-two songs, and twenty-six are nearly done," he says. Of those, thirteen are slated for the final album. Among Rose's favorites are "Better," "There Was a Time" and "The Blues."

13 out of 26 or 32 were already slated for the final (first?) album then but like mentioned in this thread, the band seemed to be still undecided about the tracklists for CD and the follow up in may. So It's unclear whether in jan they had dicided on how many songs should be on the album and not what songs or they decided the 13 songs to be on it but there should be more.

I just don't see them doing a follow up that quickly. May, seems toon soon for another album.

I assume if it does happen, it'll be an EP with a limited amount of songs.
