well according to what ive read, they played youre crazy and down on the farm last night... perhaps MSG which is the biggest show on the tour, they will play some new songs... i wont mention nameso f them though :yes:

they should keep doing what they have been doing so far...all songs ppl know, a few(yes i wish all that were played at the first hammerstein show)new songs and a few "new-old"songs to the set...makes everyone happy...remember there is only a few of us who have heard the leaks and know the newer songs...until cd is released just enjoy the set that we on the boards here know...which btw is awesome : ok:

I hope they play TWAT from the new songs, and if they are going back into some songs we havent heard, Civil War would absolutely make the crowd go nuts !

I really hope they release the album before playing any more new songs live. Quickly!

Most likely they won't play any more new-old stuff that we've either heard or rumored about. Crime & Nice Boys might make a return.

But other than that, they'll probably focuse on some more new stuff.

thats what I hope.. MSG is made out by the gnr camp to be such a HUGE show... they will hopefully have to do something special there... like premier another new song..

what xtra song on the list will get played at the show is up to the vibe of the crowd and other circumstances and how the band feels.

I think there might be one of these "surprises" every night.  I think it will probably be the older songs like Nice Boys, Your Crazy, Down on the Farm, Perfect Crime...like that...until CD is released.

talking about MSG, does anyone remember that MSG was sold out in 15 minutes back in 2002, and now, weeks after the tickets went on sale, there are still available.
not a good omen...

that was BS though they sold out a small amount quickly this year they sold out halifax as well but they keep releasing more tickets to screw scalpers for one.

if anything i think he will throw in more songs from the old school gnr, its funny...its called the chinese democracy tour but so far its been nothing but a nostalgia tour playing songs that are 20 years old(with a few mediocore new songs)

Not at all, I was just saying that Slash played on OIAM, so......

OF course it would be awesome to hear new songs, but I think with all the boots and vids people seem to be making, and with all the songs that have already leaked, I would be REALLY surprised if we hear anything else new until a single or album drops (or at least is announced).  Either way it should be a kick ass show.  Just hope the sound is better in the nose bleeds then it was in 2002.

Slash didn't have a problem with OIAM until he didn't like Axl anymore, and suddenly it was the 'popular' thing to do.

It's just a song folks. It ain't gonna happen, and even if it did, if Axl wanted to do it, Frank would do it, and if he didn't, he'd be replaced.

It's a band, but never forget who calls the shots first and foremost.

Ron Thal said they practiced 9 new songs.  They played 6 at Hammerstein, we said he knows rhiad, so that leaves 2 we never heard before ... hopefully we will at MSG.  Can you imagine 9 new songs in a setlist !!!

The should play 'The Garden' at MSG.  Throw it in right after Jungle at the start of the show.

Apparently that was just a 1999 demo. It might show up on later albums, but right now it doesn't seem to be on the rader, and isn't an option.

The other two are certaintly a possibility.

How many new songs can they play?

  they play 4-5 a show. 6 is pushing it, 9 would be incredible (for us hardcore fans) I'm saying... U2 goes on the vertigo tour and plays 4-5 new songs max. The Stones the same (Bigger Bang) Floyd (division bell) etc. the list goes on. I don't want to hear anymore CD till it's out I'd love for them to bust out a little more from the illusions...but last shows setlist was awsome....to me. Fuck, "Down on the farm" are you kidding me ?

And yeah, prolly any song must be a weak bullshit if it's not by the old band/from the last century.

If the album is still set for this year he might play a new song. If it's been pushed back, I don't know, probably not. We really don't have any points of reference on this question so it's pretty much only wishfull speculation.

Anyone else find it strange that the optionlist includes only 2 new songs from the album? If that is the list they're going to go with for the whole leg it raises some interesting questions.

Why are there 3-4 songs they're not planning to play? Is it because the arrangements are too complex? Not suitable for a live setting? Not good enough?

that they newly added a few new songs to the list should be sorta good sign in your logic, although this thread is not about the release.

I think we're talking around each other here. I know it's totally normal to only play a selected list of songs from an album. They did that with AFD, Lies and UYI. But then the reason was obvious, they left out the "lesser" songs or songs that were hard to give justice live.

It's not much, I know, but them playing these 9 or so songs give us a little indication on the remaining songs. Pretty vague, but it's not like we have a whole lote substantial to talk about here :hihi:

I think more than likely we will here somthing at MSG that we havn't heard from the band on this tour. Question is will it be a never before heard new song from CD or the current bands take on an old song. Either way it would be a treat for the people at the show.I know this is a bit off topic but, What songs were on the option list everyone is talking about?
