Post by: Neemo on November 02, 2006, 03:45:47 PM
Ok we're gonna change it up and forget about the genre's. I think it made it too long and drawn out and as a result interest suffered for the 21st century....so yeah, nominate your 15 favorite Movies of the 1990's. I had a hard time picking on 15 so make sure you get all the ones you want. :peace:

I'm gonna have to number them or I'll go way over:

1) The Shawshank Redemption (which, FYI, is my odds on favorite to win)
2) Pulp Fiction
3) The Lion King
4) Toy Story
5) Boxing Helena
6) Silence of the Lambs
7) Remains of the Day
8) Much Ado about Nothing
9) Forrest Gump
10) The Usual Suspects
11) Clerks
12) Schindler's List
13) Titanic (which is included almost purely because of it's box office gross for me....)
14) JFK
15) Good Will Hunting

Damn, that's tough. ?I didn't even get in The English Patient, American Beauty, Braveheart or Unforgiven. ?Wow.....

Post by: Neemo on November 03, 2006, 08:14:12 AM
yeah there are so many good movies i wanted to include, i'm not a fan of huge longwinded dramas like Schindler's List, while it may be an excellent film just not enought to hold my attention for the duration so i excluded it. ?some other films i considered Casino (also discarded cuz i usually lose interest about midway :hihi: don't even get me started on Costner's "epics" ); Edward Scissorhands; Heat; Kalifornia; Mars Attacks; The Basketball Diaries; True Romance; Twelve Monkeys; Untamed Heart; What's Eating Gilbert Grape. I forgot about Birdcage and The Crow :-X This is exactly why i started the survivor with genres cuz when you start sifting through the movies there is a shitload that you'd otherwise forget :-\

Kalifornia; Mars Attacks;
2 more films that could've easily made my list.

Basketball Diaries is excellent also.

The Shawshank Redemption
Braveheart
Gladiator
As Good As It Gets
Pulp Fiction
Seven
American History X
American Beauty
Interview With a Vampire
Alien 3 (its just the 90's right? alien 2 is from the 80's)
Donnie Brasco
Heat
The Fan
The Thin Red Line
Basic Instinct

3) The Lion King

I knew there was a better Disney one than Aladdin that I forgot... had to edit my list.

This is exactly why i started the survivor with genres cuz when you start sifting through the movies there is a shitload that you'd otherwise forget :-\

This is Neemo's way of saying "I told you so." :;)

haha i'm too nice to be that blunt ;D 25 is way too much to have the brain process 10 is ideal but i think narrowing down our lists by 5 more is just cruel :hihi:

so do are we wanna backtrack and revert to genres? or carry on like this? :hihi:

I'm OK with this way....it makes it tough, for sure, but more intersting in a way, too.  You really have to think about what you're going to put up on your list.
