If you DO come, make sure you fly into Newark even though you will have to travel a bit to get to Manhattan...Laguardia and JFK suffer terrible flight delays for no apparent reason and if you are flying on the same day you could miss the show, seriously.  Take a Continental flight to Newark, it's your best bet, I had no issues with them when I just went to Vegas.

What's the NYC public transportation situation at night? Does the subway ever stop?
Plan to stay with friends in Queens and need to figure out how to get there after the show. Thanks.

1: is there any kind of pre-sale password for the show? 
2: do I have to sign up anywhere to get it if there is??

4: I heard Nov. 5th was announced for the Jersey show, any word on that or was it a mistake??

Just an FYI also for people who would like to go to the continental show in JErsy, at the Port Authority bus terminal, they run shuttle busses to events at the meadowlands, , I hve used it before for a .ugg wella Bon jovi show , like 6 yyrs ago, buththey do it for all events , they bring you to the venue and then you can take a shuttle back, the busses are there waiting for when the show is over, they take you right back to the port authority at 8th ave, and 42st. So that is how Im probably goin to the show from here, its also a better way to go for those who want to drink or whatnot, safer!

BUT MSG has an 11:30 curfew, would that affect the show at all??

By the time you get out of the show and down to the train you will miss it by a mile.  Really is best to make other transportation arrangements.  Even with that curfew in effect you have to take into consideration getting OUT of the building which takes at least 20 mins if you have ever been to a concert at MSG.  Either that or you better skip out early, which is sacrilege to GNR-

Does anyone know if there are going to be floor seats, or the floor will be one giant mosh pit (GA)? What was it in 2002?

Floor was seats in 02; but Axl has been favoring the GA lately.  We'll know soon, but not soon enough.

The reason I ask is because LiveNation.com looks like they have GA listed. If that's the case, I'd rather have seats somewhere in the 100's section

Someone said they called the venue and that there would be a pit area (taking up the place of 4 seated rows) in front of floor seating.  Cannot guarantee this is accurate info though but it's posted in the main GNR section-

Hey guys - I called MSG yesterday.  The first 4 floor SECTIONS (not rows) are GA.  The rest of the floor is regular seating.  Assuming the presale works out well, I will be in the pit.  I'm also going to try for tickets to Continental, but I will probably go for seats there.  Hopefully we can all get together for some more fun pre-partying!   :beer:

WOW, that's going to be quite the large pit. I'm going to either try for pit, or what I'd really like, is somewhere in the 70-80 seating range, which is first level up at the Garden. Those are great seats, you can see all of the stage, and you can watch people in the pit get tossed...that's truly better than being in the pit, watching people get thrown out.

The hammerstein pit werent too bad. I was front and enter for 2 shows and had a great time. GnR fans truely are the greatest, most loyal fans.....I cant wait to rock....I'll be there....somehow, someway!

Yeah, I want to be in the pit for msg, but was in the pit at hammerstein also and people were shoving and pushing so hard, that by the 3rd song I had to go towards the back to breath.  I kinda think those side seat sounds good, too.  And you can cruise out during the guitar solos and grab cocktails!!!! Okay, no one get hostile about the guitar solo comment  :hihi:

yeah i got access to the optimimum online presale. i initially thought it was for the forum and then i finally realized when i got the email about gunnroses.com having the presales and launching today at 12.

I live right in manhattan in the east village. ?There's this hotel 3 blks away from me called St. Marks Hotel and it's $110-$140 a night. ?Here's the website http://www.stmarkshotel.qpg.com/ The hotel seems a bit sketchy, but it's in one of the best neighborhoods in NYC!

It's about 1 mile from msg and it's 2 blocks away from the subway. ?Msg is only 3 stops away.

Wait, how can you tell what section of floor seats you have?

Because most of the floor is reserved seating.  If you have GA tickets you are standing in front of the floor seats.

Look at the map of MSG and I believe where sections 1-4 show, that will be the GA standing area/pit. But the whole floor is not GA.  Sections 5 and above are reserved and actual seats.

This is going to be awesome, got my tix this morning ... im fired up.  Now obviously MSG isnt goign to be like Hammerstein, but can someone who has been to see GNR at MSG in 2002 and Hammerstein in 2006 explain the differences and benefits of a show at each?

I got my tickect today.  I got section 10, row J, seat 7. I never been to MSG.  Is the whole floor going to be GA or just sections 1,2,3 and 4?

Well the main difference, is the fact that hammerstein was definitly a more intimate setting for a show, still though with high energy of a arena show, but no matter where you were was great.

Now mulitply that by like 4xs, and 2002 MSG was just another monster, and so much more intense with thousands of people!

Though this time I am thinking the intensity is gonna be so damn overwelming and so intense this time , and Im sure the stage show will accomidate everyone , to make it intimate feelin where everyone sitting anywhere will see the show, that its proably gonna be off the hook.

I'm at GA Section 8. Is it assigned seating at MSG or is it first come first served?

I was at the first and last Hammerstein shows! I think this one will be better just being able to look back into the crowd and seeing 18 thousand people singing along in a packed house.

Hey Lara,  thanks but I have a great F'g time @every show,I stopped showing up to shows stoned,oh about 18 years ago. Then I started to appreciate the muscians a lot more, that's where I"m coming from and just to refresh everyones memory, Axl is the band, and that's where I spend my cash and oh I deserve to be up front and personal. My dollar is just as important to Axl as is yours Lara,don't fool yourself,it's green. I just made my opinon known. This thread is meant to celebrate and talk about GNR  playing at MSG, some people like the old band better and thats fine, some people like the new band better and thats fine.  I have a friend who wont go to a GNR show because he says its not the same.  Regardless I could care less, because 1 Im goign to see GNR at MSG, and 2 this isnt a thread to discuss old and new.

I think if you register with ticketmaster and you're in the tri-state area (or maybe only Manhattan), you can get tix to this for free.

If you scroll down on the left on the main ticketmaster homepage after you register, there is a complimentary link and it brings you to a list of shows at BB Kings for a bunch of cover bands (I got my free tix to see Theater of Pain and Mr. Brownstone last time they were there).  Pretty sweet deal - it'll just cost you $1.25 for handling or processing or something.

I think it's only if you register though...

You can ignore all that - admission is only penny...

But still good to know for the future or if you want to see Mr. Brownstone (highly recommended!)

just got my tickets this morning..!  general admission.  first show of the tour ill be seeing. I went to see them in Philly in 02 right before MSG but we all know how that turned out.

Tons of seats left.  One would think, with the album coming, and the success of the Hammerstein and Europe, this would not be the case.  I think, it maybe the scalpers, are staying way away from GNR right now.  Or, simply the demand has dropped significantly for this band even from 2002--which again surprises me after their success in Europe.   

IS IT TRUE THAT THE SEATS ON THE SIDES OF THE STAGE, ALL THE WAY IN THE BACK(SEC 407), R HORRIBLE 4 CONCERTS?   :(

It's now been almost 2 and a half hours since concert tix went onsale to the general public and there are still good seats left. Something just popped up for section 226 for C, which is pretty good. This show isn't sold out yet by a long shot. Probably though, I'd think it will sell out before the actual date of the show

If you are rigth at the back of the section, they usually don't stop people standing in the aisles because they have to climb up loads of stairs to get to you.

If you have GA Floor there are no seats.

Look at the venue map and where sections 1-4 are they will not be there for the show.  This is the GA pit.  Anything else written on your tickets is only to account for how many have been sold for GA, it's for MSG to account for how many people are there, nothing else.

They don't usually run concerts like this at MSG so there really isn't a map that shows this accurately but this is how it is-

I disagree.  The majority of people who listened to GNR in the late 80's/early 90's don't even know they are still out there playing.

It will take the release of the new record to generate interest again for this band.

Until a new song gets frequent spins on radio stations across the country, GNR is for the majority just as irrelevent as Motley Crue or Aerosmith.

We, the fans who have stuck around for Axl and co, know the real deal......that GNR is coming around the corner getting ready to blow the doors off the stale-ass state of rock 'n' roll as it stands today.

Your best bet is to look for a hotel in NJ, they are right outside the city (only minutes away) and a lot cheaper than NYC ones. Hope that helps!

I live right in manhattan in the east village.  There's this hotel 3 blks away from me called St. Marks Hotel and it's $110-$140 a night.  Here's the website http://www.stmarkshotel.qpg.com/ The hotel seems a bit sketchy, but it's in one of the best neighborhoods in NYC!

It's about 1 mile from msg and it's 2 blocks away from the subway.  Msg is only 3 stops away.

Here's more cheap hotels.  Look all the way to left-that Carter hotel is only a couple blocks from MSG.  Cheap!

Nah, I've been to the Metro Centre once and I just looked it up. That place holds 10k, they are squeezing a bit over 20k for the NY MSG show. I bet tickets are more expensive for MSG too.

Please check reviews on trip advisor, it really has saved me from some scary places while traveling.  My bf almost booked us into a hotel next to a drug rehab and section 8 housing when we were traveling to Baltimore (not that I don't love crackheads or the poor but still) and checking the reviews really found us a decent place for the money we wanted to spend...

So some people are saying this hotel is okay?  I'm booked in here for the 4 nights I'm in NYC - but the reviews are pretty bad?  So what is it really like if you stayed there?

There are some pictures on some of the reviews on Trip Advisor, very scary stuff.? They looked really frightening to me, personally but I guess it is what you are able to put up with.? From what I read I would be scared to death of staying at this place between the roach issue, dirtyness, and rat issue but that's just me.? It can't be beat for location though.

I found the pre-sale code on the nyc craigslist the day before that sale hit.  At 9 a.m. the next morning, I kept refreshing the page until it temporarily banned me at 9 a.m. for too many attempts.  I freaked out and switched over to the other office computer.  It was 9:10 a.m. and I wasn't getting any results for floor tickets.  I didn't know what the general admission tickets were for, so I tried about 10 times for a reserved floor seat.  Finally I got Section 5, Row N, Seats 5-6.  I'm staying with a friend's friend overlooking Ground Zero.  We're coming up on the bus from Chinatown in DC that day.  I'm so stoked.  It's also a government holiday (Veteran's Day), so I don't have to work that day either.  Ahhh.  This is gonna be bad ass!

They are doing serious radio promotion for this show on Q104.3, they are playing "Knockin' On Heaven's Door" like 50 times a day and then announcing the NY and NJ dates.  They need to get a bigger song selection though because I swear every time I get in my car this song is playing!

Awesome that NY has good taste in Rock N Roll. Take the two LA ampitheatre shows and put them in NY, they would have sold out by now.

Generally when you have seats you just use the front entrance which looks like a mob scene (but is covered from the elements), not really a line per se.

I disagree. NYC is selling out because a lot of out of towners are going. People are using the opportunity to go hang out in NYC as well as see a GN'R concert. LA does not attract nearly as many tourists, simply because there is not that much to see in LA. Plus it is very far from Europe and that makes it much harder for Europeans to come to shows in LA. Not to mention the doubled airline prices. And the fact that LA doesn't have a good and convenient public transportation system as NYC does, which makes it even less attractive for out of towners.
I am sure if you compare the locals only, the LA locals are not less into R&R than the NYC locals.

Interesting theory, I wouldn't know. Seems far fetched that that many people would go to NY for a GNr concert, considering there were still some tickets left for the Vegas shows (the out of towner capital of the world I imagine). I suppose I could do research on tourism, etc, blah, blah, or take your word for it.  I will take your word for it. Iowa is getting my tourism money for the GNR concert. Haha.

To those looking for hotels, I stayed at the Hotel St. James at Times Square, it was decent enough and was about $130 a night.   Its just up the street from the port authority and you can take a subway from there to Penn Station and you'll be right there at MSG.

Flying into NY, I recommend Newark.   It was real easy.  Just took a train from there for 10 bucks and I was at Penn Station in 15 minutes.

I would so love to go to this show, but I just can't do it.   :no:   those of you going are in for something special.  :smoking:

Anyway, in answer to the people who were talking about the location of the Chelsea Star.  I spoke to a friend who lived iin NTC for two years and knowing my tastes recommended Chelsea as a good location.  I like to be somewhere bustling, noisy, fun busy, etc etc etc - so it sounds ideal.  The price is f**king great too! : ok:

Definitely fly into Newark and not JFK if you are coming from overseas, it is a lot better run of an airport and I have found the customs folk there to be a hell of a lot nicer than at JFK. ?If anyone needs help with how to get into Manhattan from there let me know and I have some links to help you out depending where you are going or you can just google "Newark Airport Transportation" and it should come up for you.

Newark Airport..I know there's a bus that travels from the airport to Grand Central..I think it costs about 10 or 12 bucks.  It's not too bad of a trip ..I agree..JFK is a tougher place to deal with than Newark.

JFK is a downright shithole if I may say so.  It also holds the record for most incoming and outbound flights daily in the US making it pretty dangerous as the planes are flying into and out of the same airspace.  If you remember there was an accident there in 2001 due to this.  I was doing a lot of overseas traveling back in 2001-2002 because I partially lived in France at that time and I will tell you I only went through JFK once and never again. 

Well considering the other option being LaGuardia which has a short runway out there I rather take my chances with JFK..at least I won't need to deal with the hassles of praying for a long runway.
Yeah it's busy at JFK but then so's Newark. And I do recall the flight that went boom about 2 months after 9/11..

It's not a terrible shithole..the Monorail is kind of cool to deal with but after awhile the novelty wears off.

Cabs charge $45 flat rate from JFK to anywhere in NYC from what I recall (which might be going up if they cabbies had it their way) and this is not counting tolls or tips..so figure what..$58 bucks..yikes.

But most international flights from London/Western Europe come into JFK and EWR. ?Wow, the cab fare has taken a jump at JFK-I think it was only $30 plus tolls when I used it to go into Manhattan in 2001.

My main reason for suggesting Newark though is because I just find it a little more orderly and easier to navigate as an airport, especially if you are a traveler that has never been to NY-

Yep..and I remember the days when checker cabs had bucket seats for the extra 2 passengers..life was good then..Times Square wasn't so Disneyfied...the gritty feeling of being in an urban jungle..now it's just become too..touristy.

Did anyone at any point see tix in the 50s - 70s available for sale to MSG? (They're the elevated ones that are basically right on the stage.) I would have loved to get these seats, but they never turned up - are they usually reserved for VIPs and other higher-ups?

Great cheap drinks, beer pong, and can listen to GNR all day!. and its literally a 10 min subway to pennstation , and the subway is convienently on the corner, bought 30 steps from the bar.Just a suggestion.

fuck! i'm still deciding on going to The Killers concert in Barcelona on Nov.11th or this show. i never saw the killers live, i saw gn'r 3 times on this tour and i guess the show will be the same, but i really wanted to see them on MSG. with so many days on the calendar and it had to be like this...

I say, go see GN'R again!!! After all it is MSG. It may just be the GREATEST show of the entire tour but if you don't go you'd never know first hand......

I, for one, vote against Stitch after the way they acted in May.  I booked their upstairs area for the after parties, and they were jerks!  They wouldn't let us sit upstairs.  I'm bummed about Mustang's, they were cool there.  I just want to be able to meet up w people from the board before the show, bc I am planning on going by myself - all my lame friends thought $100 was too much to see GNR.   :no:

Don't worry about JFK..it's just super busy out there and congested with so many people it's almost tough to breath out there.  It's rare that JFK would have a plane crash..but it is a busy airport nonetheless

Oh hon, no don't worry if it's already booked. ?I survived it going to and from Charles de Gaulle. ?My suggestion for Newark was more for orderliness rather than the safety of the airport. ?They both handle a lot of air traffic.


They might have been jerks because they get regular business at those hours.  They are more likely to want the business before a show before they get the regular NY bar crowd which doesn't roll in until about midnight.

I went to Stitch before the Hammerstein shows and it was awesome.  It wasn't crowded, around the corner from msg and it more pub-like.  I will go wherever for the pre-party to be with all of you...but Friday's or Houlihans...so cheesy.  It's not like we are  meeting in Indiana or some place where there's no options. 

I might be going to NYC, definitely not to Barcelona....

Yes, I totally agree with this.  Having a pre-party in NYC at a chain restaurant like Fridays or Houlihans is totally silly unless there were no other options.  I hope the Stitch plan goes through especially since we have so many out of towners coming and a fun NYC bar would just be more appropriate.

MSG security is a joke, they don't pat you down or wave the wand or make you walk through anything. You walk in, thats it.

I was there a couple of weeks ago, & they went through my bag. 

Depends on what mood the security is in that day.  They usually make me open my bag but on a few occasions they didn't bother at all.  I don't think I have ever been pat down there though.


Don't worry it takes up to a week after you get that email if you just ordered them via standard mail, especially if you live outside of NY.

Cool tidbit: Stitch is named Stitch because it's in the garment district of NY. ?It's the biggest garment district in the world. ?There's not a lot opened around there at night because the neighborhood is mostly fabric and trip shops, but it's def. safe. ? :smoking:

Also, on a Friday afternoon, Stitch it will comprise mostly of middle aged jewish men that are in the garment business and their business has been handed down generation after generation.  There will be a few building doormen, a few fashion people, etc.  It's cool because it's not a tourist attraction, it's a NYC hodgepodge.  (sorry, hope I'm not being too much of a no-it-all).  ;D

The area is safe and cool..I've lived in NYC all my life and I will say that the area around 34th street is cool..

The whole day is just going to be awesome.  I found myself reading the reviews from the 2002 show, and the band is so much better now, so its just going to be completely insane. :beer:

Well I just got mine today and I think he means plain as in they are suffering from lack of info on the front.  They just say Guns N Roses, Madison Square Garden, no address, no location, no nothing really and they usually print SOMETHING else there to fill it up.  My GA tix for Continental have a little more info on them, at least they say East Rutherford, NJ.  Not that people won't know where to go for MSG but they are a little plain looking as per ones I have from the past.

Got mine and part of the ticket is smudged :( But as long as it works, I don't give a shit...

Still nothing from that company.  I did emall them asking why they didn't offer a priority mailing and they wrote they're not handling the tickets, just the pre sale.  Which had me asking them who's handling it and they never bothered to reply with an answer.

Thus this has me wondering.

I just checked the ticket availability on Ticketmaster, and only got section 427.  So it's safe to assume, its going to be a packed house.

They probably are being printed by ticketmaster anyway which means tickets.com is just a middleman of sorts and then they have to send the information to TM to be printed or maybe to the venue box office itself.  That's probably why it is taking a little longer.

But there is still a month left yet no need to get nervous ;)

I like the fact that Tickets.com was the middle man for Ticketmaster...well it certainly makes me wonder who really was running the show and who was the <BLEEP> in this whole mess.

On the flip side of things tickets.com says you should have your tickets 48 hours before event date..how's that for being assured delivery..not blasted likely.

Still I'll give them till end of the week myself..then I'll go and just complain to tickets.com and then ticketmaster for already charging me on my cc for a product that has not arrived in a timely manner.

Well I called up Tickets.com's customer service to figure out where my order is. And they said they are handling the tickets.  However my order, probably most others who used Tickets.co,  have NOT been printed yet.  They consider the event an "Special" event and it will take time for them to print it.  And when I inquired about priority mail like Fed Ex..they said it's up to the promotor / venue with that regards.  Thus there's a chance I'll be seeing my tickets in 2 weeks time...aka 4 weeks after placing my order.

How about that, I got to wait another 2 weeks and yet they've already charged my cc for something I have yet to receive..sheesh...

At worst you can thank monopolymaster for charging extraordinary fees and not a lousy flat fee for events.

Actually when I was looking for the number I ran across a bunch of legal documents regarding Ticketmaster and Tickets.com suing each other for various reasons (linking/crawling) from 2000-2003 so I am unsure now that Tickets.com is actually a middleman but possibly just another company that handles ticketing.  Either way they seem to suck regarding communication, at least with TM they let you know what is going on by e-mail and you can track orders online with your account.  Not that I agree with the ridiculous fees they charge though-

I bought my tickets from tickets.com too for the chicago show. please let me know if you guys receive your tickets and what to expect. It looks like nothing but a hassle. Now I'm afraid I won't receive them and I got pretty decent seats. If anyone has a problem post it here so I know what to do if I encounter the same situation.

I ordered from Ticketmaster on their presale & I just got my ticket yesterday, if that helps anyone.

The floor at MSG are a combination of Standing Room and Seats...check the MSG concert seating map...and then take out sections 1-2-3-4..and I think that's where the GA section aka the pit will be.

Three days after an official press release that the show "has been sold out" and you can still find plenty of tickets for the upper and not-so-upper sections. I understand the marketing side of it, but when a band official press release sounds like an ebay seller statement and it is a clear lie, I feel a little embarrassed as a fan of this band. Or does it always work like this: You sell 70-80% of the tickets released and you have the right to claim this is a SELL OUT?

For a big arena like MSG it does work like that.  Very rarely do they actually sell every single ticket there is.  When the majority of seats are gone they consider it a "sell out".  Also ticketmaster does a thing where they will actually not sell some tickets and slowly dribble them out for sale unannounced.

I'm sure this show is nowhere near sold out. This is just hype to get people into thinking its big event and making CAA at least half full, then they will release thousands of tic kets as soon as november hits- mark my word.

Thousands of tickets are still currently availbale for MSG thru ticketmaster.
They should've stopped selling tickets after the "sold out" announcement and release the rest of the tickets a few days before the show.

I just pulled up 2 in a pretty good section in the 200's myself which I found pretty strange.  Just the other day there were only singles left in really bad sections.  The only thing I can think of is that when all was said and done and they added up the orders between TM and tickets.com and then let go all the orders that didn't go through for various reasons there were more left then they thought in the 1st place.

Even so, I think by the time the show rolls around we will be looking at a pretty full house :peace:

Miss Bomb - MSG is on 34th st., on the west side, near midtown.  So if I were you, I'd search "midtown Manhattan" first (if that's an option), and then look at upper west side (which wouldn't be as close, but the upper west side is a good area).

The Pennsylvania hotel is directly across from MSG.

If you are looking for something cheap near MSG, try the chelsea star...  they have a website as well.

Try the Trip Advisor website (http://www.tripadvisor.com) - it has honest reviews of accommodation etc and a great forum where you can ask locals for guidance.? The Hotel Pennsylvania gets terrible reviews and, personally, I wouldn't consider staying there.? That said, it does depend on your budget, of course.

When I went to the Hammestein show earlier this year, I stayed at the New Yorker Hotel (http://www.newyorkerhotel.com) and, although nothing to write home about, the room was clean, the staff were helpful and I did feel safe there.? It is reasonably priced too; well, as reasonable as any major city these days!? It is about a block from MSG.

I notice that there is a Comfort Inn Chelsea pretty near MSG too and I believe that it's been refurbished this summer, so may be worth looking at.

Yeah sex kitten, what the hell is the $11 service fee per ticket charged by tickets.com? What the hell are they doing for $11? Have you checked the chicago site? Some person from Milwaukee ordered seats and wasn't given a seat number so when he contacted tickets.com they said he has to take it up with the venue - it also says to contact the venue for customer service - what the hell kind of sham is this? I'm paying $11 dollars extra per seat for tickets I don't even know if I'll get, unassigned seat numbers and no one to actually speak to at tickets.com.

Hey NY Peeps - someone from chicago asked tickets.com what if their tickets didn't arrive - they said if they didn't arrive they would be held at will call - how is that for service? they can't even guarantee they will arrive! Also, tickets.com states for some shows they can't be responsible for lost mail so if you don't get your tickets, your SOL. They guaranteed this event so supposedly if we don't get them, we can pick them up at will call.

Listen, I bought my tix thru ticketmaster (for msg show) and did the e-ticket check out where I printed them out on my printer.  Easy, shmeezy, japaneezy.

Yeah, they are legit, just seems that their customer service sucks big time next to ticketmaster.  I posted a phone service number for them a few pages back but from what I have heard they tell you the same thing if you call.  Hopefully GNR will coordinate with a better ticketing company in the future or just leave it with TM-

I think if those who ordered via tickets.com shoulc call customer service and be persistant with your ticket orders..you've already paid for it and they got their money and the service fee and shipping and handling fee (which is a fuking joke to the max if your tickets are at will call).

Just to say that I had the problem of tickets going astray in the post for one of the UK gigs.? I phoned ticketmaster and they cancelled the barcode on the original ticket and issued a duplicate for collection from the venue's box office; however I couldn't collect it until 1 hour before the performance began.? I took with me the credit card I booked it with and the original confirmation e-mail and had no problem collecting the ticket (which was GA, by the way).? I don't think they'd consider doing this until several days before the performance though, so I'd wait a while yet.? I know you booked from ticket.com but I would imagine that they all use a similar system.

I understand it's nerve-wracking waiting for the tickets, (Donington don't send out until mere days before the festival!) but, hopefully, this may allay some of your fears.? Best of luck..? : ok:

What good comes from ticket.com keeping me on the edge of my seat waiting for my purchase? We ought to start our own ticket business up - hell I can print and deliver them for cheaper than what those a-holes are charging!!!!!! Hey, I busted up ticketmaster and tickets.com from my basement! I sell tickets with no fees and they get there faster! And I don't reserve any tickets for any scalpers. They have to go through my system just like everyone else.

Tickets.com first told me a song and dance reply but I went for a supervisor and he basically said that they were waiting for Ticketmaster stock to come so they can print the tickets from their site.? And that within a 10 day window from event date they will probably not send tickets via mail.? And I asked if they did get stock would they ship tickets via fedex or some other faster means ..they said no.

Customer service guy did mention that the previous time they and Ticketmaster were "partners" in another event that tickets ended up at will call.? A total mess if you ask me.

Guess I'll just see you guys at will call on the 10th cause I don't have faith in Ticketmaster sending their paper stock to Tickets.com

i wanted GA floor so i had to go the e-bay route. tickets were selling at about $110-$140 each, which is face or slightly over (after you include the TM fees). so not too bad. i got a pair for $240 + $10 shipping. so just about $15 over face. not too bad.

I think this would depend on if you have actual seats or have GA.  The only recent experience I had with GA at MSG was last year for U2 and they made us stand outside in a line (around the corner) while everyone who had actual seats got to use the nice front covered entrance (and it was freezing rain which made this so much fun, haha)-I have no idea if they will run it this way again though.

I will probably go in about 7:30 or so since I have seats to this one.

I think Ticketmaster's policy on some international ticket orders they'll put tickets on will call..not every order but on some events they will.

I have no idea about Tickets.com...far as I see it..it'll be me and 405 other peeps standing in line to get their elusive tickets.

I'll be there with the Mrs and a friend with his girl(Both hard-line "old band supporters; MSG will be our night to convert them)...5th show this year after the 4 nights at Hammerstein!

Oh man, that sucks so bad.  I think at MSG you can pick them up any time of the day though on the day of the show.  I would suggest running over there early to do so.  This way you don't have to battle lines twice.

I think it's safe to say anyone who lives overseas is not going to get mailing of tickets-I would call and make sure they will be at will call though!

Thankfully in either case..I'll either be at MSG early enough to get the will call tickets or be half buzzed with tickets in hand with the latest info I got from Tickets.com

20,000 peeps at the Garden...it'll be quite a clusterfuck of people no matter how you see it.  Though I'm wondering if they closed off the back of the stage seats..I know they didn't when the played the Garden in dec of 91.

They split the printing orders up possibly from how they got the printing orders..

Far as I know I called them Friday and while on the phone with them they said my orders were printed.  Now there's no guarantee those tickets will be in our hands on Wednesday.  Their mailing department isn't open on weekends (ain't that a bitch)...and they're sending those tickets BACK to ticketmaster..and they will send the tickets out via mail..

Depending if I can get off for the 11th to get home to work......I plan on getting to NYC on the afternoon of the 9th.  I'm going to try to get a room at the Carter because that was by far the cheapest room out of any (I don't give a damn if it even has a bed...I plan on spending mucho time sight seeing).  Are there any gunners planning anything for the night of the 9th?  I want to go visit the John Lennon Imagine memorial and maybe check out Times Square, but then I might hit up some clubs or something.  If there are any plans let me know.  It's going to suck going alone because all of my friends aren't into it so I said fuck em.  Well depending on how tomorrow goes at work, I hope to see all of you there and drink and meet some great kickass people.

My tickets came in the mail today.  Finally..FINALLY..so my guess is with Tickets.com orders..figure 10 days prior to show date and you'll get your tickets...However don't hold that theory as anything can happen...

Now I'd probably still will saunter over to will call if my other ticket order doesn't arrive.

its a new club co-owned by Scott Ian,

Papa Roach are expected to play there, Scott Ian is expected to be there,

There is no doubt in my mind that Axl will not be there, let alone the entire GNR performing

Whoa Nov. 9th at the Hammerstein there is a benefit for children with Aids in Africa that is being hosted by Iman (Bowie's wife).  Bowie is going to do a few songs live and Alicia Keys and Louis the XIV will be there.  Tickets are $250 just for the concert and another $250 to go to the pre-benefit cocktail party where Bowie will be.  I may try to attend the concert if I can scrap $250 up.  Shit imagine seeing Bowie one night and GNR the next.  I don't think it could get any better than that. 

So, we'll just hang out outside the club if we cant get in

as for getting your tickets....mine came from ticket master and i had them in about a week.

I don't want to hear any complaints about being up too late or whatever, cause my friend and I are hitting the bars at like 2 PM on the 10th, the show, then going home on the train, hopping into the car, and driving directly to the Beaver Stadium parking lots at Penn State to tailgate for the PSU game on the 11th.

Good deal everyone......I just reserved my room (which already turned out to not be a great idea!), but I'm definitely going to be there.  I'm getting in via train from PA at 5 PM and then it's on to the hotel to check in and then it's sightseeing time.  Can't wait to meet everyone. 

Path trains are okay..and they're cheaper than say the NYC buses and trains by 50 cents..
though at the late night early mornings the trains come every 35 or so minutes. so print or get a timetable so you can plan accordingly instead of standing around the platform waiting on a Path train.

Its not that bad, being spontanious, cause they dont always follow the schedule!

Is this show GA. Cause my ticket just says section 6 row k seat 13. I've heard some people talking about GA and I'm a little confused.

It would be great if they extended the GA section to the next four sections behind that.? You sir, are in the next four sections behind the GA section.? You allegedly have a seat like me.? I'm in Section 5 to the right of you.?

Pretty much but I'm sure there's enough of a gap for those sitting and those standing so everyone sitting can see the stage...Unless you have a tall basketball player standing in front of you..

If that is the case I will just stand on my chair!  I am in section 5 as well.  I think I was in the same section in 2002 as well.

Section 5 isn't so bad..in 2002 I was in Section 9 and funny as it sounds I thought the floor was sold out but there were a few seats open around me.  A few peeps stood on the seats..as long as my view wasn't blocked I was cool with it.

It's GA for me..and I'm just pacing myself with the show..I'll watch Bach but not sure on P Roach as I may intend to hit the merch stand..in that timeframe..

They were great at Hammerstein Ballroom a few months back... I can't go to see them at the Garden unfortunately. I'm selling them for exactly what I paid -- no reason to make a profit. I work in Midtown, so I can hand deliver if you want.

You need to hook up with a hottie and quit worrying about the time! :-*Spend the night. But, if you have a family you could also take a cab, depending on how expensive you think it would be. It's a Friday night so hopefully no work the next day. You'll be so psyched from the show doubt you'll want to go to bed after. Can someone pick you up?

The last time they played the Garden I think it was done by a bit after 12:30am..but escaping from the Garden with the 20,000 others..that took 40 minutes depending on where you're seated..

Hook up with a hottie...now that's an idea..or you might make new friends at the show when you get there..you never know..

I agree..enjoy the show because if you're in GA..you don't got time to text anything with the peeps jumping and energy of being that close up to do any reporting.

is there a seating chart that shows how many people will be standing??? or does anybody know?

Take sections 1-2-3-4 out of the floor and leave the rest of the seats..then figure about 20 rows of 14 seats per section...roughly that's how many are standing.

There's a seating chart at thegarden.com.  Not sure if that'll give you the info you're looking for, but you can try.

Anybody have any ideas on what time the show will begin and end?  Just because I live in jersey and the last NJ transit train out of Penn Station is 1:40 AM.  Think I'll be able to catch that train?

It'll be close, you might want to look into the path schedule depending where you live in NJ

i'm taking NJ transit as well. i'll be prepared to waste 3 hours waiting for the 5:14 train. which isn't hard to do in NY.

Well, anyone ever been to the MSG area?  Any bars open past 2AM ?  Maybe i can hang at a bar until 5:15AM when the next train rolls out of NYC.

I know the bars close down at 2AM in NJ, anyone know of anything open late in NYC near MSG?

That's what I'm doing dude......my train back to PA doesn't leave until 10:50 am so after the show I plan on hitting up a bar until about 3/4, then checking out Times Square and maybe something else before I head back to Penn Station at around 9:30 AM.

yup, NE corridor line to trenton. then i have a 30 minute drive to philly.

like youngunner said, they have come on relatively early in NY. i caught the 1:40 train with about 10 minutes to spare after the hammerstein show. and in 2002, they actually hit the stage around 9:50 when all other shows were 10:30-11 (luckily my buddy INSISTED on going in MSG by 9:45 or we would have missed alot of the show).

BUT, with the shows lasting 2:30 - 2:45 recently, they would have to be on by 11 for a real shot at the 1:40 train.   

So, where is the venue in relation to where NJ Transit drops you off at Penn Station?  I've been to Penn Station many times, but, never to MSG.  Is it in the same building?  Any pointers as to where to go?

You barely even have to go outside to get into MSG from Penn Station, just follow the signs.

NJ Transit basically puts you close to underneath the Garden ..it's walking a few minutes and boom so you're good to go.

Is stitch going to have any drink specials or happy hour?

Anybody ever drive into Manhattan to go to MSG?  Should i be concerned about parking ?  Is it readily available at garages near MSG?  Or does it fill up quickly?

beefeater267....there are lots of parking garages around MSG. Some will cost you more than others. Typically the ones that are closest are the most expensive. Find one on 34th street. Last time I went to see Clapton a few weeks ago and it was about $30 but I have seen it cost over $40 as well.

By the way, I have one absolutely awesome ticket for the show on Friday night at MSG but I will not be able to attend due to a trip. It is in Section 50, 2nd row, certainly a prime seat. I had a similar seat at Continental Arena last night and it was the best. I have one friend of mine who is trying to decide if he is going (translation - checking with his wife). I should know Tuesday. If he can't, the offer is out to anyone who wants to part with $100 which is what I paid (ticket price plus taxes/fees). I actually paid about $103.

I have a spare G/A ticket for the front (standing). I don't really want to meet anyone at the show as I'm not sure where I will be and I WILL be really drunk.
