Title: Presale Mishap
Post by: PENNY16161 on October 31, 2006, 08:49:39 PM
Hey,

Back when this forum had a presale (I missed out) for the current tour, I remember reading a lot about people who FINALLY got the email were very confused about something...no specifics were allowed to be revealed...

Since the presale is long over, can someone fill us in on what was going on there??

Thanks!

The pre-sale was done throught the official site whch didn't require a password like all the previous pre-sales.

If memory serves me right..Ticketmaster had a pre sale for some cities and there was a password for each pre sale city...

the official site had their own pre sale and as Jarmo said, there was no password needed.

maybe that was the mishap?

I thought there was a presale through this forum - at least for the NY/NJ show, which went on sale before the new official site was launched...

No, the pre-sales for MSG and Meadowlands were venue presales on ticketmaster (prior to the sale on the GNR website), meaning you had to be registered for updates from the venues to have access to the passwords.  They had nothing to do with this site.

actually I had found the passwords a few days beforehand..yet I wasn't sure about the conflicting info about no passwords needed and the ticketmaster pw...either way it was a win win situation....

though the waitng game for the tickets was another story. :)
