Post by: liquidvirus on October 06, 2006, 06:34:16 AM
Has anybody heard this so far ?Its bucketheads tour only riping up the torrent world.....its pretty good, some tracks are close to the best work hes done in my opinion.
Just listen to the awesome riffs of King James or soothsayer.
New found love for the bucket, and KFC ironically  :hihi:

This is my favorite disc that I own right now.  After I saw him play Soothsayer live, I went out to the merch table, and a sign said, "Buckethead's New CD", so I bought it.  I couldn't have gotten any luckier!  This disc is awesome.  Everyone on this board should own it.

Awesome album, "King James" and "Soothsayer" are just amazing tracks.

You should also check out Chicken Noodles with Travis Dickerson : ok:

Some really fantastic work from the Big B here....All of his records thus far this year have been very high caliber.

Bucket's on a roll. Soothsayer is perhaps his crowning achievement. It is just an incredible piece of work. King James is also kickass. But Mad Monster Party and The Fairy and The Devil are pretty damn good too. This is a really good one all around.

I can't wait to get my limbs on Chicken Noodles. That's gonna have to wait for Xmas, I think.

ok, im not one to bitch about the lineup. I think the guys that they have in the current band are fucking amazing musicians. I think Finck, Fortus and BBF have proven they are superior axemen than 99 percent out there, but goddamn can Buckethead play! I just downloaded Crime Slunk Scene by Buckethead there is a song called Soothsayer on it. It is flatout phenominal. it seems a waste to not have any lyrics with it. It's a 9 minute epic that hits both slow and fast, soft and hard. As much of a loon he is, I really don't know if I have ever heard a better guitarist ever! The closet would probably be Satriani, but I think the chicken man has him. Your thoughts?

Funny, my friend just covered that an hour ago, listening to it now..
Both his version and Buckets rock...
It actually is my favorite BH song!
 :)
But this belongs in ex-members section. ;)

Yeah, buy the shit, dude!

Anyway, Soothsayer is perhaps Bucket's crowning achievement. Total guitar masterpiece. Everytime I think he won't top himself, he does.

I fucking love the Head. Top stuff!
Has anyone else noticed the major Van Halen influences in his playing?

Those were my thoughts as well. I really enjoy the first 5 or 6 tracks on Crime Slunk, but I find that it kind of fizzles after that. Elephant Man's got some real kickers throughout the disc, from start to finish... Lurker At the Threshhold 1 - 4 make for a real strong middle section, and you've still got some great spots after that, like Gigan... whereas I find that Crime Slunk kinda just fizzles out after Soothsayer (an awesome track!).

I really enjoy both Bucket and Thal's playing in Guns, but as far as their solo work goes, I prefer Buckethead by a mile.?
