Ok, how many of you think that this month we will have release date and single?

I'm tired of playing 'this' game.  Been playing it for a long time now. 

I sure as shit fucking hope so. Chinese Democracy...Wii...Gears of War...fuckity fuck, November is going to be sweet! I hope there will be some warning though so I can get the day off. No way Im getting work done the day of Chinese Democracy.

I think November '06 is gonna bring us the most action from the GNR camp in 10 years.  And then they play the Pacific Northwest in December!

I really thought we were going to have some sort of announcement before the end of October.

I still have faith we will get the album by years end but with each passing day that faith starts getting more distant.

If we dont hear anything by mid November I think its safe to say the album wont be out this year.

I mean I've ran into this thread a million times before, whether it was based on a year, a month, a week or a day.  I'm just giving up on guessing and  I'll just get it when it comes out.  It's like when something unexpected happens when you're having sex.  You were expecting to climax but you just didn't.  I'm not expecting shit no more, I'll take the climax when it comes. 

Thats my thoughts too, I think I posted yesterday that I believe the next 2 weeks are crucial, if we have nothing at this point in 2 weeks then I really don't see us having CD in 06. I hope I'm proved wrong, but you just can't help feeling like as each day goes by with no news a small fraction of hope leaves you.

However I still believe we'll have CD by the end of the year and I think we will get some sort of info within the next 2 weeks ?:beer: ?:drool:

This is beyond a Dead Horse thread but people will still find it relevant in the hopes that we get CD this year.

What isn't Dead Horse anymore? Everything is Dead Horse on this board, but it's still fun. If we were only to talk about news we could might as well log out and come back in 6 months, which is normally the timeframe of something actually fresh happening.

I say probably a performance at the American Music Awards, maybe a single.

It will all happen "soon" and "in due course" after the "finishing touches" now that the warm up to the warm up after the last warm up.

Maybe it will just show up tomorrow on Halloween. After all, Merck said it might just show up in stores one day without warning.

The album will be released this month, I'm certain. Ive said it before and I'll say it again I really dont think that they will do a huge pre release promo. God this is 'chinese democracy' its infamous already, I think it will just appear on our shelves....but hey maybe I'm wrong?

No he hasn't. Merck said they MIGHT do that, but most are unsure whether he was joking when he said that.

I trust Axl.  The album's coming this year.  If we don't hear anything in November, it will drop without much promotion in December.  For some folks I guess it would make a nice stocking stuffer...for me, it would be the 3rd greatest gift I've received, my 2 kids being #1a and #1b.  ;)   :love:  :love:  :love:

Merck made a remark about just walking into a record store and seeing it on the shelves. Think about it logically... why would he make a remark about that if they had a big press release or promotional plan ready to kick in the weeks before its release? With promotion we are all gona know the exact second its on the shelves.

So logically you'd have to say what he said STRONGLY suggests they intend to drop it as discreetly as possible. The only advantage I can see of doing this is that it will create a frenzy of fans and reports of the most freakin infamous album in rock simply appearing in our hands after a decade of speculation.

Heh its like charlie and the chocolate factory with the gold tickets. We are all waiting with bated breath on this record and its going to materialise infront of our very noses one day!!!

The more days  pass by the more i begin to think that they really will release the album without any notice.
I am not willing to think about the other possible reason why we don't have a release date.... no not at all i am going to think about this :nervous:

I really thought we would've heard something by now, however hard they try it would come out as soon as they started pressing it.
I've been logging on to here every day for the last month thinking there would be a new use story giving the date and theres still no sign. After 2002 I was sure there would be a plan, so there was no repeat but now I'm not so sure.
Or has something happened to make the plans change?

It all comes down to Axl, and what he decides on. Comments from over the years and lately all seem to indirectly point towards the album being released, as long as Axl don't find some obscure reason not to. It's happened many times before, and it may have happened again. We really don't know yet.

If there's no word by mid-november I think we can agree that the plan has changed, yet again.

Jeez, are you going to ask this question at the start of every goddamn month? How pointless is that?
