I got turned onto this band a few months back by someone on another forum....

....They're a fun rock band, plenty of catchy tunes with a modern vibe it's great stuff, nothing too taxing, it's just enjoable stuff to listen to, makes cool party music to.

I recommend (for those who haven't heard of them....)

I saw them opening for Mot?rhead back in october.. They were pretty good. I like their new single 'We Don't Celebrate Sundays'

Yeah it's cool, like most of their songs it's just good fun lyrics.  Heavier than a lot of their other stuff to i really like the drums in it....

pretty cool, singer has got a bit of steve tyler sound going. They are quite successful in there home country sweden and japan and are doing ok round the UK now also.

no i would have however sadly, they seem to be touring every main area in the UK but the midlands.

i've seen them once kickass show.. i missed the other time i was going to see them.. but i will see them more times in the upcoming summer of they tour sweden

I got their second album today. IT's good, but far too eighties sounding.

nothing wrong with it sounding 80s, that usually means its gonna be good.

Another likeable rock n? roll band from Sweden. I?ve seen them once, they were great, very energetic. I guess if you dig Backyard Babies you gotta love them as well.
The 80?s sound seem to bother people, but I love it.

i think there new album has that thing that was posted on these forums a while back, where the way its recorded strains you ears and makes you get tired of it even though you like it. Well thats what im getting with it. Its great but i seem to need to listen to something else as soon as i put one song on and i dont know why.

Alright guys, I gave most of the links a try. My opinion; the guy can definitely sing his balls off and I like the song 'Shame' the most I think. I'm always looking for new bands to get into but I have to listen to an album from these guys before I can tell you if it's a band I'll be a fan of. So far it's not too bad but it wasn't one of those bands that on the first listen totally floored me. But as I said, I'll hunt down an album and give it a listen and then post what I think. That's my opinion too. It's their "sleaziest" album.

But mrlee, as I said in my rants, I do enjoy 80's music and some glam. I never said I hate it or even disliked it. I even said how the NY Dolls are one of my favorite bands and they were one of the innovators of glam in my eyes.  But I will never give an opinion on music or a band, until I hear it. I don't go by what people say or what the majority says. So many people on this site base their opinions off of shit their friends say or other people say, without even hearing certain bands.

I love music and always have. I'm a musician and I've grown up around music, it's in my family and I AM ALWAYS looking for new bands to get into.  That's why I will always give bands that I haven't heard a chance. Now that I have made myself clear on that, WE ARE NOT ruining this thread with any more arguments, so don't reply back with something that will start another fight. I said my piece and said it very calm, and resepectful to the people that started and are using this thread. As someone had mentioned, I think I will start out with "No Regrets" and go from their. Thanks for the recommendation by the way.

well i personally think they have totally grown into a awesome band on the self titled and im not dissappointed with these new songs either, musically and lyrically the new stuff just kicks ass.

i was  checking there website out, and i checked the guest message bit, damn they have alot of hatred from the older fans now, thats a shame.

apparently they are being accused for "selling out" "going mainstream" "being unoriginal".

i think thats totally untrue, if the band wanna make rock with balls, move on from there previous sounds and can pull it off good, just like hardcore superstar do, then whats the problem, its not like they have had a major change in styles, they just got heavier and wore leather jackets....

however im glad they are attracting a new audience of fans, that same audience which has now got them playing in england and at download festival, and all over sweden and germany and maybe france.

lets hope they can take america by storm because vains of jenna ARE NOT the best sweden has to offer to the world.

I recently wasn't too keen on the new album, to be honest I thought it sucked.  I wasn't liking any of the hooks on the tunes and thought it was too heavy for them.  I was DAMN! wrong though.  The album has really grown on me and is one of my favourite albums of theirs without doubt, I'm loving every tune now!

For Christmas I got their Live DVD from the Sticky Fingers, really good show, my only complain is the DVD is only just over an hour, hopefully they'll release another DVD down the line packed with more stuff.

Gotta disagree there.I think hardcore superstar is easily their best album although i haven't gave their 1st 3 albums a good listen yet so maybe in time i'll change my mind lol.

Hardcore Superstar is great, saw them live about a year ago.

But things were different 8 years ago..They were bubblegum-rock, and really lame..They had their 15 minutes..Became forgotten, then came back with a different style etc..Now they kick ass !

disagree man, there other stuff is ok but its really really light in comparrison to the new stuff.

Perhaps i just preffer a harder rock sound, but i think there most  2 recent albums are serious perfection of hardrock mixed with metal.

I knew people would disagree with my list, I can summarize my "history" with he band, with the first records it was more of a glam-punky band with catchy songs and i remember hearing them on the radio ("someone special", "still i'm glad", "Liberation", "I can't change" etc.)? then as Adler_Sorum_Brain said they dissapeared after the "No regrets" album and i forgot a bit about them, then in like early 2005 I thought to myself "damn what was that awesome band called with that cool singer" for days this was all i could think about? :hihi: I rememberd they had a long name that i thought was cool.. I tried to remember a song of their (the song was "someone special") when i remembered their name i looked them up and found out they had a new record out in stores soon and I got excited,
 when the record came out "wild boys" was the first single if i remember correctly and I really liked it, the riffs and melody was awesome :headbanger: and i sau the same today, "we don't celebrate sundays" soon followed and the video was on MTV and shitz and i was excited to death to hear the rest of the album, when i finally got to hear it I thought it was great but very different from the old stuff but it was an amazing record and it quickly became my favourite of theirs, I finally got to see them in the summer of 2006, 15th of july to be exact, back then it was easily the best concert i've been to, it was at a local festival and they hit the stage at midnight, it started with "kick on the upperclass" and i was in heaven fo about and hour? :beer: at that show they only played songs from the selftitled record whch i was totally ok with but of course still a bit "bummed" that i didn't get to hear liberation and the other old hits but WTF, who cares i had just seen jocke berg and Silver putting on an awesome show..
after a while listening to them on and off as i am with different bands and i think most people are i started to listen to the older records again and thought "these are still fucking great"? :yes: then 2007 came and the word was that HCSS would write n' record a new record and release it in the fall, this was fucking awesome.. Bastards (fade a away) was released as a single and it was really cool but i wished that the album would be more of a blend of no regrets and selftitled and not keep changing/evolving the sound of the band at the direction they were headed with the selftitled..
 at this time they put a demo of sophisticated ladies on myspace and i remember that i at the begining wasn't sure what to think but later on i started to dig it more and more,
october came and mrlee told me on msn that the record had leaked, i downloaded it as fast i could and i really dug it but my suspicions were true, they had evolved to the "wrong" direction, it was still a great record and one of 2007's best but not the kind of HCSS album that i wished for.. i don't think it's about preffering a harder rock sound, since i love music that is much heavier then the last 2 records, maybe it's that the first records felt more stripped down and jocke's voice was more in the center of attention or something i don't now.. the solo to the song in (the song) no regrets feels so old school, aw fuck, that's a summary of my memories with this band :)

Some guards can be gits but others are ok.I started out on the left hand side but went out for a fag in between bands and by the time HCSS came on,was on the right hand side lol.

I see this thread has been dead for a bit.

Just been checking their website, new album due in June '09 called Beg For It.

Also they are playing London March 12th.  I'm hoping they get added to the Download Festival line-up, they are doing a lot of UK gigs supporting In Flames so I think there is a good chance especially since the album drops the same month, they still need to make up for no showing last time I was there, standing around with a hangover waiting....and waiting  :hihi:

The first post of this thread era  :hihi:  I think I'd been a fan for like 2 months.

I was using a Hurricane Party/Roadstar board and in there equivalent "Bad Obsession" section they recommended this band and the Thank You (For Letting Us Be Ourselves), and I loved that album, delved through their back catalogue and I think round about that time or a little after the self titled came out.  My favourite album is forever changing but overall, with it being my first album of theirs I slightly edge towards Thank You (For Letting Us Be Ourselves), probably if I compiled my own Greatest Hits of theirs I'd take more tracks off their than any of their others, although to be honest I'd probably end up stretching to 3 Discs  :hihi:

EDIT: it makes no sense that thank you is my least listened album.. finding myself singing along to all songs and digging them much more then DIAC, have to listen to it more, even though they probably never play any songs from it live

They are supposed to be crossing Thrash and Glam. Those two styles put together should equal serious ass kicking.

The last two albums were far heavier then that stuff n they wernt even trying to do that style back then.

was listening to BFI on their myspace thinking "uhm, i don't know what to think of it" then after it BOYH starts playing and i'm headbanging and playing airguitar before i know it, BFI might be better then Dreamin though

This song is very commercial HCSS. But i think it like the sound of it more than Dreamin, maybe its got better hooks i dunno.

this album is so fucking good.

Heard the single a few times on spotfiy (can't believe its the only track they have there) and its pretty decent, I'm looking forward to the album.

Just came across the 1997 It's Only Rock N' Roll thought I'd download it and see what some of the Bad Sneakers songs sound like in their earlier versions.

Does any have their cover of Hanoi Rocks Don't You Ever Leave Me?  Or any of their Japan Bonus tracks from their older albums?

Very good, has tribal drums into and a good groove.

I'm sure somebody has explained this before, but what is the reasoning behind Japanese bonus tracks?  Do they pay more for albums or something...

I think it has something to do with piracy?

The have higher quality prints for CDs, i know that. Sound is clearest on Japanese album pressings.

Japanese fanbases are usually pretty hardcore also. Anyone can get famous in Japan.

Listening to the new album.  First few listens seemed a bit meh.

Then I thought, well its alright.

Now I'm loving it, when you suddenly realise you've been singing along and your foots been tapping away without you noticing its all good.

I really like the 1st track, This Worm's For Ennio, it works as a really good introduction to the album and heck if there are any new Western movies coming out, bang it in  :D  It really has that vibe.  :yes:

i think its a real great album. I enjoyed it alot when i first listened.

But it continued to grow and grow.

Only one spin so far...need to see how it grows on me.

I might start to like it, shades of grey kicks ass

hey mysterious lee, when did u last see them? how was the setlist?

i saw them on there mentally damaged world tour, with Silver. early 2008.

They were brilliant...i felt they were a little upstaged by Crazy Lixx however..due to Zinos energetic performance. However they now have Zino so perhaps this will make them even better. who knows.

I intend to go see them next year when they tour here

they play mostly new stuff, which in my opinion is better...its the reason i got into them.

They played one song i think from the old times.

i think the new tour has a mix of the newest album, n the last two.

yeah, i think they even had a limited edition picture disk version

can't say, never seen crazy lixx, but they were all energetic, all moving around on the little stage, singin in each others mics, at one point adde's drum tech (i think) came next to adde and started banging the drums (just like duff does during the drum solo of the tokyo shows) then leaving the drums so the drum tech played a little while he was drinking beer and just being a rock star :headbanger:

Awesome. I think HCSS are terribily under-rated.

They finally got press here in British magazines and all of the magazines say the same thing. Giving them top reviews.
