I wonder if there will be national news coverage about the show or not.  An article on Cnn.com, a tidbit on MTV, etc...

Probably only when News about the album is announced.

Something big has been going on in the guns camp and theyve got to reveal something tonight!!!

I'm not quite sure that it's global headline news. ? And I don't believe we'll get an announcement tonight either. ? How often did we hear fans stating for a fact that there MUST be an announcement at the first or last Hammerstein shows?

The hustle n bustle of the London Hammersmith made SKy news and Channel 5 news in the UK.

I thought that was pretty impressive as it shows the media appreciate and realise people would be genuinely interested to hear about this band and how they are doing.

I was on the sky news report in the background when they opened the doors to let us in  ;D

I was thinking more about the fact that the band has been gone so long, and now are making a come back.

Yes, there will be national news coverage.  It won't be headlining news, but you'll def see it on yahoo.com's homepage for an hour or two.  when CD's release date is announced, it will be talked about.

but this time its the CHINESE DEMOCRACY TOUR, in europe it wasnt....

Im not saying Axl is going to give us the release date, but he has to give us something i hope

Depends what you're thinking of.. A little metnion on CNN, sure, short little 10 second mention before going to commercial. Or news on the scroll across the bottom. Just don't expect a 3-4 minute piece.

MTV, probably alot the same, myb a 1/2 show dedicated to it, also I'd see VH1 re-airing GnR's Behind The Music "GnR" probably the same show, myb a new tweak at the end. Alot depends on if Axl's doing interviews.

EDIT: I thought you were referring to when the album is released or release date announced.. As for tnoights show, I would expect very little news coverage. Unless you really search for it (ie. It won't be on yahoo or cnn's homepage, but if you clik on music, you might find it there. or not. )

I'm sure Geraldo has floor tickets so he can give live updates every 30 minutes

 I checked several newspapers today.  Nothing.  USA Today has had lots of Gun's Mentions in the past and not a word today.  The local Florida papers did not have anything to say. 

rumours are something bigs gunna happen on the 21st (not the album release) so i rekon thats when where gunna hear the information, not before.

It doesn't normally make headline news when a band goes on tour, unless you're the Rolling Stones or U2. IF there is any kind of mention, it'll be followed up by a quick giggle or made out to be a joke as most GNR news-related stories are.

"We're interupting this program to give you the breaking news, GN'R is back!"

Well, Axl could always pull a no show and cause a riot.  That would ensure some national coverage.   Lets hope not.  I just want to show to go off without a hitch.

There may be minor press coverage when the actual album comes out but generally the mainstream media outlets (news channels, etc) do not pay much attention to bands or music unless someone in them dies or kills someone else.  The last Axl mention I saw on the regular news was indeed the security biting incident- :peace:

Haha, I didn't even see that written under your name until just now.  I was stuck in a flashback of having to learn how to write Haiku in middle school 20 years ago-

The written press will have some coverage for sure-and of course any magazines, sites that are music based.  Other than that I would really say not too much, especially here in the US.  We are too driven by watching news of pedophiles being caught cybering teens online and celebrity killers.
