gnr is in slightly less demand than usual...
but it's interesting to notice that, Zagreb, Croatia is number 4 in the list...
it's funny how such a small country has such a great demand for GNR!
 :peace:

1. Buenos Aires, Argentina

2. Santiago, Chile

3. Lima, Peru

4. Zagreb, Croatia

5. Dublin, Ireland

6. Budapest, Hungary

7. Bogota, Colombia

8. Oslo, Norway

9. Edinburgh, United Kingdom

10. Stockholm, Sweden

I find this kinda ironic in the face of all the threads/posters who are insistent that GnR are not very popular in Europe in comparison to the USA.

Are you kidding Decadence?  It's the other way around.

No one cares about them here in the States. (Hopefully that changes "soon.")

It's OK Lucky, you guys had your turn first, while WE had to wait.  ;D

Bands due tend to come and go in the states, if no new music is released. It seems like everbody likes GN'R, but nobody cares about GN'R. If new music comes out and it is good, than people in the states will start caring about GN'R again. But it has too be a really good album to get over the fact that Slash is not in the band and the fact that they think Axl is the sole purpose of GN'R disappearing. Because it seems people in the states have a harder time accepting that Slash is no longer in the band than anywhere else. :smoking:

That was exactly my point!  GnR are still massive in Europe yet a lot of posters on here seem to think they'll fare much better in the US with the new album.  Maybe they will, maybe they won't but my point was that it's fairly stupid to assume that they're automatically much bigger in the US and this particular thread backs up my point :)

Why?  I am fairly sick of this opinion.  I'm not anti-US or anything like that, far from it.  However, a band can be massively successful in their home countries or across continents without them having to even set foot on US soil.  It's not like having a hit in the US validates a career - plenty of people have long and successful careers without ever managing to break the US.  Oasis are absolutely huge in the UK and have barely scratched the surface in the US - same with Robbie Williams.

It's just so ignorant to say that you can't be successful unless you make it in the States.

You can't be considered a world wide success if you do not have success in the states. And really, most bands dont have an opportunity to have world-wide success untill they achieve success in the U.S. GN'R has to be a success in the United States with this album if you wish any further albums to be released and have them come back to Europe, thats a no brainer.? :smoking:

The original poster didn't say anything about 'world wide' success, just success in general.  Had the post I was commenting on referred to world wide success I'd have restructured what I was saying :)  As it stands I still maintain that a band can be successful without going near the states.

Obviously, GnR are American so in their case they may not have had the start to their career they had without breaking the US first as finding contacts outside of the US would have been a difficult task with no money.
