my mate informs he he went to HMV in liverpool (uk) and it says CD is out on the 13th nov, he wouldnt bullshit me, he's a big GNR fan.for what its worth

Not very much, HMV's listing means nothing even if it is true.

Just had a look at the HMV website - it does list chinese democracy but it says it has been deleted

I've just been informed by the cousin of a secret informer who knows an insider that knows one of the band mates cousins insiders that the album will in fact be out Nov 13

however this insider has been told by an insiders cousin with inside knowledge of other insiders that the date may change at any time.

i know HMV are bad for this, but its just what u have been told. i mean it has always been roumored at this date makes sense, but at the same time could be wrong : ok:

13th is a monday... so its impossible

It says HMV UK. Albums come out on mondays in Europe.

yes CDs are releaeed on mon days over here. dont shoot the messenger its just what ive been told, and to be honest its a realistic chance after the rumours

it's HMV UK we get albums on a monday. that's already been pointed out once in this thread

I realise that - I was actually looking at October on my calendar when I wrote that response. In my defense, October 13th was a Friday. :P

The mixing of the record really shouldn't be an issue.  As an above poster said, Axl played the disc at his house.  Even if they were fully mixed and unmastered, this proccess SHOULD only take a day or two, however, with Axl, you never know, it may take weeks.

i'm thinking it's fully mixed and the disc's are being manufactured. Someone once posted (months ago) a link to the company that is rumoured to be manufacturing the disc's. Maybe they have listed Gn'R on their site now? :peace: one thing is for sure, i bet the people down at the manufacturing plant/factory have played the contents of CD? :)


..another thing, anyone remember that photo that did the round months ago. The so called *fake* photo. It was called something like party at Axl house or something like that? :peace:

Jesue Crist....the mixing IS done...it is just changing hands before getting shipped to the stores across the world....think about what is included on a cd when you buy one....artwork, cover, credits, thank you's from each and every band member....then copies have to be made......I'll bet anyone on here that the mixing for CD was finished over a month ago....I am sure most of you realise that. I can see how people will still doubt that it will be released but it will be out this year....way too much has taken place for it not to......thank God... :peace:

Based upon other artists, would you expect Chinese Democracy to be released on the Monday before or after the US release in the UK / Europe?

well, then i guess, its just the mastering left. If they havent dont that thing by no also.

i actually dont know. But i think mastering is the "final touches" fading and stuff, and it can be done in a day or so...
correct me if im wrong

Mastering involves things like track sequencing, as well as assuring that the volume levels are consistent between tracks, and other small final touches...Usually takes a day or 2, but again, this is Axl here, who I'm sure is right over the guy's shoulder the entire time.

It's been a month (just about....) since Axl played the songs at his house. And obviously his CD will have been mixed, even if it was just a rough one.

Theres been plenty of time between then and now for everything to be done

I would not put any faith in what HMV says, they are probably just taking a guess, figuring they have a 1 out of 10 chance to get it right. Didnt they say April 25 2005 last year. I like what Merck said it will be of the next 10 Tuesdays, but again he said 2005 would be the year of GNR, so who the fuck really knows :o

the compony does it all the timeif they know its a massive realise they will add soem fake ass realise that on there to build pre orders


some times the record label asks us to do it for promotion

but 30% of the tiem the record label has told us that the date its coming out

it would be the day before. so if the UK release was 13th the US would be 14th

I bought a dvd from hmv in manchester today and i overheard the staff talking about mcfly being instore or something tomorrow and i dont know why but i just blurted out 'hey do you guys have chinese democracy listed for release?'. They guy laughed in my face and said 'isnt that the one that should've been out like 13 years ago?', so i just stared at him blankly and he checked the computer, they had it listed as November the 13th but it had been deleted!!!!! I also noticed play.com havee it listed as coming soon, anyway just thought i'd share that with you guys.....

No, we shouldn't lock this thread - it has HMV in the titile! Good, I'm glad people can still have a discussion about this release date. GNR and it's management has been jerking everyone around...I'm hearing all sorts of mixed info...

we've been jerked around so much there's no more j**z left? :P

i personally think we'll hear something soon, and I'm sure Amazon will be the first to list ....not HMV

I'm sorry, but I don't recall GNR or its management making any sort of public statement more specific than the number of tuesdays left in the year. I doubt they take the time to personally inform all of the people who claim to have the inside track on CDs release, so maybe you should think about pointing the finger at those people who can't help but spill all of their "secret information" in our direction all of the time.

I like this one b/c it's right after they play MSG, which is when the press will be at its peak...

HMVs 13th November UK date appeared MONTHS ago as most of you guys will know. How ironic would it be if they actually got it right in the end. I have no doubt it was purely speculation however.

Anyone work for HMV or Virgin Megastore in the UK? Will they open at Midnight? I think there might be the market for it!!

I really doubt there will be a market for it, unless 1) Its HEAVILY promoted and 2) It doesn't leak.

HMV have been announcing Chinese Democracy release dates like fat men eat cakes in the last year.
