Title: Anyone going to record tomorrow's show?
Post by: Guns N RockMusic on October 23, 2006, 08:57:22 AM
With tomorrow being the first day of the NA tour, I'd like to think we'd hear something new or rare like how TWAT was played only at the May 12th Hammerstein show.  Anyone plan on doing a (high quality) recording tommorow?

It would be nice to hear a new setlist.  : ok:

TWAT was also played in Madrid, May the 25th (I think). This is a very common misconception.

To my knowledge, the Madrid recording is MUCH better then any that have surfaced of NYC too. Either way, I'm hoping for a high quality bootleg of this first show.

Hearing TWAT on the hammerstein show was a GNR highlight...amazing song and they really played the shit out of it.  i hope its on this tour as its probably my favorite of the leaks - its the only one with real staying power if you ask me.

I think if it is recorded then whoever records it should hold out to get the VMA rehearsals.  I can wait on getting it if it means getting the VMA rehearsals and the 10/24 eventually.

The guy with the VMAs isn't going to give it up for a FL show, unless its flac soundboard quality, the only source,  the tour is cancelled and they played 3 new songs from CD that never heard... and, we would need a press release saying that Axl would never play another show and CD would never be released.

I'm hoping that none of that happens  :peace:

Exactly. When I read the original post.. I was like "Why would the guy give up VMA's for some random NA tour show?"

Lol... I liked your "only if.." examples though.  :hihi:

Again, the obsession with the VMAs puzzles me.

It really puzzles me too.  This wasn't the highlight of GNR's career.

Maybe part of it has to do with nobody else having it?? Or because the performance wasn't up to par at all, people want to hear how the rehearsals sound, compared to that performance?? I don't really know...

If anyone records it, they should share it. Same with the opening shows. We have NOTHING from Vegas or San Francisco, which is complete bullshit.

Oh yea, hey Axl, play Chinese Democracy!!!!!!!!

Haha, almost forgot. Today at school, a friend and I were bored out of my mind so I wrote "Chinese Democracy starts now! G'N'F'N'R's!" on every desk that I could. Tomorrow, we will be distributing free burned CDs of the leaks.

haha ok ok you guys are right, it probably isnt worth getting the VMA rehearsals.  For those asking why people want to see them... its because its a behind the scenes glimpse at the band that wasn't supposed to be seen by the public.  Its like when I got the SNL Rehearsals for Nirvana in 93 years ago.  Its actually boring, but its cool to see the band just hanging out waiting to rehearse and whatnot.  Its like downtime when the cameras arent on you (even though they are) and you can act like yourself.

Is this high school I take it?? How the hell did you get away with writing that on all the desks you could without being noticed by anyone?? Or was  it just one or two but you're saying it was 'every desk you could'?? Regardless and as much as I hated people that wrote on desks in high school because I thought we were too old for that and past that stage in our life, I commend you. Any Guns N' Roses promotion is good promotion. Maybe you should write Guns N' Roses though, so people know what you're talking about. A lot of people may not know what 'GNFNR's' means. Big props on handing out Cd's of the leaks. You should put Better as the first song on all of the CD's, so it really get's peoples attention. High school kids will really dig that song I think.

It's literally almost every desk in the classroom. The teachers are usually outside before class so we do it then. Other people helped us as well.

We're trying to get them to play Better at the next pep session, as well!
