Here Today... Gone To Hell!

Who remembers LostRose.com? Was just running back through my gnr history and that site (along with this one  ;)) kept the hope alive, even when nothing was happening prior to 2002. Anyone else go on there? Does the guy who ran it post on here?

Just tried to go on it now and all i see is a picture of a cross with 2 roses, and if you click on it nothing happens. Has that site just been replaced by the picture ?

The pic was on the first page and you clicked through to the main site...guess its left as a reminder. The guy used to get everything newswise first...

Yeah, I used to visit Lost Rose.  In fact, I think I found this site through a link there towards the end of the site's being.

it was the main gnr site that i used to go to for info. it looked great. too bad it's not around anymore

I found this place from lostrose. It was a genius site.
He stopped up dating for a couple of months then the site disapeared and left just the front page.

I found it in early 2000, I didn't know GNR were still any way productive until I stumbled across that site. I can still remember the amazing feeling when I realized my favourite band ever were still sort of out there. Then I heard Maddy for the first time WOW!

Lostrose used to be my source back in the day.  I think the creator was a student that wasn't doing too well with his studies and probably had to shut it down so he could focus. 

This rings a bell. Qudos to the gentleman...I found out from his site that GNR were playing in London in 02, wouldnt have got tickets otherwise. Seeing Axl bound out on stage was awesome. Fond memory.

i seem to remember the owner got pretty bored and dissillusioned with the internet.

He was my friend. We went to the Vegas show on New Year's 2001/2002 together and had a blast.
He got pretty pretty busy with school some time in 2002 and at the same time frustrated with what was happening (or not happening) with GN'R. I guess the Philly incident topped it cuz I remember he had bought tickets for several shows around the East Coast and the DC area at the time......
I kept in touch with him thru mid 2003 and then he just disappeared. Seems to have graduated from college since then. I wonder too what he is doing now. I was a frequent on his site since the beginning in 1998.

That was a great site! It was always what I used the most! I used to observe HTGTH and actively use lostrose.com. The guy who ran it used the name NIATSIE. I used to have soem good e-mail chats with him! He was a true fan who knew his stuff!! Shame its not still up and running! Mind you HTGTH is the best site we could wish to have as Guns fans!!! Mike

Ah, the good old days of GNR sites...Lostrose, gnrx, GNR ONLINE forum, ah the memories.

it was the best site back in the day. i used it as the primaryh source of info, etc. he did a great job with the site. when lostrose folded, htgth took the lead.

Yeah same with me, it was the first GN'R site I ever visited and the only one I used to get my news from.

I remember Niatsie suffered a loss of conscience with his site. He threatened to take it down unless a member of GnR contacted him personally. Apparently Gilby Clarke was enough to satisfy his ego; Niatsie received a thank you from Gilby and the crisis was averted.

I personally checked out at that point. The incident said alot about this guy's character.

Lostrose.com was a pretty good site. I used to go there all the time in high school during business class, among many other GN'R sites as well. Man would my teacher be fucking pissed when she caught me on a GN'R site everyday, especially when I was supposed to be doing work. That was back in 2000 though, so it's been quite a fucking while. It's funny, when Axl did the Loder interview and the RS interview back then, it almost seemed like CD would be out soon and here we are 6 and almost 7 years later.

news group was the main place for people to gather...

That was, by far, my favorite site. ?I bought a few bootlegs from him. ?I seem to remember the last update on his site was just before the implosion of the last tour. ?I always assumed he was very pissed off and gave up after that. ?I still check it every few months to see if anything is happening. ?

Has no one come accross the webmaster on any of the forums? Maybe someone should wake him up now that CDs about to be released. Maybe he's into drum and bass or something now  :rofl:  :rofl:

yeah i also found this site from there. that had to be about 2000, cause i remember coming here all  the time when Oh My God got my excitement level up real high (where it has been all this time i guess.)

funny because i think this became my main source for GNR news when i lost my harddrive for a time and this was the site name i could remember. funny that i'd remember this one over some of the simpler ones.

I think that being webmaster of a website is pretty hard, specially if that's not your main activity. If you work and have a fan website for a music band in your free time is hard. I am a publicist and I have designed some websites as well... I have tried myself a couple times starting a GNR site but I couldn't find the time to finish it and I'm sure it would be very hard to keep it... that's why I quit the idea.

I designed this website twice, I wanted it to be visually rich and different from other, but I have not time enough, so I quit.

It is understandable that somebody spending too much free time in a fan site quits if nothing happens in too much years !  I always wonder myself how Jarmo could keep HTGTH for so long.. does he have a job or something ?  :hihi:

Lostrose was a great website. I used to visit it just about every day. Even though the GNR world was pretty quiet back then, the guy still managed to update us with a good bit of info.

Yeah I remember lostrose.com.  I also used to visit .44 calibre horticulture, or something like that.  Those were the main places to go before HTGH really took the lead.
