Title: K-Fed is back! New performance on Leno!
Post by: HamsterDemocracy on October 21, 2006, 12:34:17 AM
K-Fed makes me wish he'd go K-Def so he can't hear what he's singing anymore - maybe it would improve his talent somehow.  :-\

Check out the ugly fat chicks dancing behind him. I'm not the type of guy who's going to poke and make fun of obese people, but typically "rappas" try to hire attractive women, right?

They don't look anywhere near obese to me. And they're dancers not models.?

I think people would take rap music more seriously if the "rappas" didn't degrade women so strongly in their videos. They come across as very ignorant and shallow, which is a turn off.

Yes, I agree, but sadly half-naked women is what sells. Bill Hicks said it best - if they could get away with it, Coke would just have a commercial of a completely naked woman sitting there for thirty seconds, and then at the end say, "Drink Coke."

With this in mind, the fact that K-Fed is hiring the complete opposite of the norm says a lot. Even his token black DJ looks out of place and awkward. The whole thing reeks of a guy trying to cash in on a fad (rap music) and not knowing anything about it.

In a couple years after his album is a failure and his marriage is falling apart, he'll champion a "rock" album just like Vanilla Ice did. He'll say it's where his heart TRULY was and that he only did rap because he was forced to. (Which is what V-Ice said.)

That seems like a cop-out. It doesn't have to overlap into every media outlet. Musical integrity should be first priority for a musician. What's the uniqueness of being like everyone else who sells out for a buck o' five?

Hicks was in no way justifying this - he was loathing it. That was the entire point. Sex sells. Companies know this, musicians know this, filmmakers know this. And as we progress further into this new millenium I think sex as an advert is going to be taken to new extremes. It seems to always be getting pushed to the limit.

But back to K-Fed.

In a couple years after his album is a failure and his marriage is falling apart, he'll champion a "rock" album just like Vanilla Ice did. He'll say it's where his heart TRULY was and that he only did rap because he was forced to. (Which is what V-Ice said.)

Quote

I wish for him to fail. He's after the money. If he hadn't married Britney Spears, we never would have heard of him. He just had another child and as she was at home taking care of them (and we know how great of a mother she is) he was out at strip clubs getting lap dances and going to bachelor parties for his pals. I don't care for the guy at all and consider him to be another Vanilla Ice - he looks, sounds and acts like him.

I wasn't calling him a cop out, just the theory of sex selling above all else.

I wish for him to fail. He's after the money.

What a criminal. Seriously, what's he supposed to do with his life? Should he just be Mr. Spears forever?? There's nothing wrong with having goals and ambition to better your life.

Not many people knew who Lenny Kravitz was until he married Lisa Bonet from the Cosby Show. For a while his title was Mr. Lisa Bonet. A lot of people could say he used her to further his career - for exposure. I highly doubt it though. Believe it or not, some people marry for love. You can't judge something you know nothing about. And going by what the tabloid magazines say is just crazy, because they sensationalize everything to sell copies.

There's a difference IMO. Kravitz may have married Bonet but he didn't immediately use her name to get himself notoriety. Kravitz was already fairly established and it increased his popularity, perhaps, but K-Fed literally used the marriage to get a record deal; no one would pursue a contract with him beforehand. He banned Britney from entering one of his shows because he didn't want people to pay attention to her. (This is true! She showed up and was denied admittance.) Kravitz didn't marry Bonet and then immediately score a record deal and start using her name to further his own career.

the sad part about this is that, that song wasn't all that bad.  I mean it was pretty smooth and chilled out for a rap song. it wasn't terrible but that in itself is fucking terrible. It sickens me to think that he has people writting everything for him. It's a marketing machine and it blows ass.  Money talks and Britney has gotten this guy over.  It's an embarassment to the music industry.

As for the dancers I'm not so sure they were all that "big". I mean it might just be their clothes that make them look larger than your average backup dancer. If they are actually big boned than I'll give Kevin Frauderline or whoever hired the girls props. It's a nice change. nothing wrong with having real peopel shown for once.

The lyrics aren't terrible but they're pretty bad IMO. I hate when rappas brag about themselves like that. "I'm rich, K-Fed ridin' in his Benz," blah blah blah. Tupac never did that and that's largely why Tupac is held in such high esteem - he was more poetic than all the gantsta rappas out there today bragging about how much money they have.

I agree with that.?

K-Fed's lyrics in that song on Leno weren't my favorite. "She calls me daddy, but she ain't my daughter" or something like that.? :nervous:? :hihi:

I'm not talking about K-Fraud's lyrics RR. I mean obviously he looks like a dick when he's raping about his money because the fact is it's Britney's money :hihi: How lame does that make him look. ?I was talking more about the flow and vibe of the song. it's not bad. ?There's no sense either comparing this jerkoff to Tupac or any other credible rapper. I mean that'd be like comparing Bruce Springstein to Clay Aikin.

Russian for u to compare K Fed to Vanilla Ice just shows your ignorance when it comes to Rap Music.

Vanilla Ice was the first ever rapper to have a number 1 single on the billboard chart. He had the highest selling rap CD and may still have it.

K Fed wont even go gold, sure won't have a number 1 single or a diamond selling album.

So please gain some knowledge and facts on the subject before commenting. : ok:

It pisses me off when people compare someone to Vanilla Ice

Do u know how many Black Rappers havent came close to the success of Vanilla Ice?

There's a lot more than have I guarantee u that.

Dude, success does not equate quality.

Quality-wise Vanilla Ice is considered a joke by the music industry, and he had one major hit. His film made investors go bankrupt because it bombed so hard (it only made a couple million in its entire worldwide run). His subsequent albums combined have not even sold as many as his first album.

I like Ice Ice Baby because it's "so bad it's good" but please don't assume just because someone achieves a few strong sales they are automatically a great talent.

If I'm not mistaken Limp Bizkit also sold a lot of records and don't start telling me that means they're above Velvet Underground (who sold barely any in their active days).

Totally different.

Vanilla Ice was a pioneer and he made some bad career choices.

But at one time he was an ICON and he set some hip hop records. so joke or no joke at one time he was the number 1 artist in the world.

K Fed will never come close to Vanilla Ice.

I hate all this bullshit about how for some reason Record Sales dont matter.  I think thats bullshit.  People use that shit as an argument all the time.

Maybe if a band doesnt sell a lot of records maybe they arent really that good of a band? Ever thought of that?

Vanilla Ice was a white kid from the suburbs who stole black music, had one hit single on MTV and has become a laughing stock. They permanently retired his video on MTV a couple years ago because it was "incredibly lame" (their words, not mine) and V-Ice himself smashed the tape with a baseball bat (he also got mad and destroyed the entire set and was banned from MTV for the rest of his life.)

Hitler must be having a snow ball fight with Jeffrey Dahmer in hell for that comment to be seriously said. ?Dude, it was 1991....a FAD, not a Dylan-esque attempt at a rap album. ?Back in those days four dudes dressed up as the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles also had a top selling rock album (They literally pretended to be the Turtles, yet played stage rock shows in the costumes...complete with songs like "We're the Turtles, you can count on us"). ?Oddly enough Vanilla Ice went on to collaborate with them a year after his career flopped.

The only thing different about K-Fed and Vanilla Ice is that people are now smart enough to see that this guy is a douchebag before he even starts his career.?

All K-Fed has to do now is make a home made porn video and he'll have his status as a true American hero solidified.

I think some of u are too young to have lived through Vanilla Ice.

Yeah u can look back now and say what u want to say, But when he came out he was huge and he was anything but a joke.

Black people were so jealous of Vanilla Ice for stealing their genre that they did all they could to expose him.? He also made some bad career choices but he didnt have anyone to model his career after.

Having the first ever RAP single go to number 1 is an amazing accomplishment. I don't care what anyone on here says

When u are the first to do something, that makes u a pioneer. He wasnt the first WHITE rapper to have a number 1 he was the FIRST RAPPER Period.

I think some of u get caught up in too much bullshit.

This band is amazing........ they only sold 2 million albums for their entire career but they are the greatest band ever.

I think that is bullshit.

I think if u make great music, people will buy it. and just cause "Critics" tell u what is great that doesnt make it so.

I think some of u try to be "Cool" instead of being honest.

Its like people have this elitist stupid attitude.

Its everywhere, I see people on this forum who dont want Teenagers likin GNR.  HELLO I was 8 years old when i bought SCOM and WTTJ etc etc!

they may in reality be the biggest boy band fan ever but would never admit it so they rattle off every obscure band in the world to try and look cool.

People try to say that Faith No More is better than this band or that band.

I say if you are great, u are gonna be popular.

There are exceptions dont get me wrong, Id never say someone like Britney or what have u is better than so and so but I am talkin strictly rock bands that play their instruments, write their own songs etc.

If a band sells hundreds of millions of albums, they must be doing something right.

    My god man.  I was quite alive and very well remember the Vanilla Ice fad and it was embarrassing even then to see anyone walk around listening to that crap.  It was a one hit wonder at that like hundreds of other songs.  The funny thing was that it had a stolen sample (he didn't obtain permission to sample any of the songs that he did on the cd), his moves were stolen from a dance troupe and he claimed he went to an all black school in Miami, when it was found out he came from an upper class suberb in Texas.
As for black people being jealous........HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.  Fuck man as for being a pioneer, he was one, I'll give you that.  But not of white rappers or rap music.........but being a laughingstock.  If you're a pioneer, your legacy will show....as for Mr. Van Winkie.......I think the story speaks for itself.  I remember in 91 I was listening to GNR, Metallica, RHCPs and Motley Crue....not fucking Vanilla Ice.  The only rap I cared for back in those days was 2 Live Crew.
