To prevent leaks maybe, but that's almost impossible in this world. The only reason I can think of is that something has changed since the RS article was written. Perhaps a 2006 release has been scrapped, or maybe the album will not be released on a Tuesday but maybe Friday. Whatever it is, management is quick on removing anything related to the RS article. People are concerned that this could be a repeat of 2002. I think people's concerns are warranted.
I think everything is fine, they just have a different approach. Their approach doesn't make sense to the majority of us, but if it works for them then so be it- even if it does annoy and frustrate the hell out of us. Axl is probably just having fun with this now.
