In Todays Kerrang! Magazine
There is a feature called Welcome to the Jungle. There's a photo of Axl from a recent live gig (i havn't seen the photo posted here on HTDGTH). Kerrang! say good words about Gn'R, how loud the fireworks were. Too bad i cannot remeber what gig they are talking about. It's some outside gig where otherbands play? :peace:

It's good to here Kerrang! being positive about Gn'R and who knows, maybe in an issue or 9 there could be an album review? : ok:

Its not that they said anything good they just didnt say anything bad its a time scale of the Kroq show the one good thing they said was after the show everyone was happy they had seen Guns n roses except for the guys who had seen the women with on teeth bearing their breasts and the guy who got covered in urine. Something about how every one remember it was 2006 again after the show. ?

In last week's Kerrang, they had a review of something to do with Buckcherry, and it said along the lines of "because the new Guns N' Roses record will almost certainly suck so bad, find your sleaze-rock fix with these guys".

Now they suck up? Bullshit rag.

wow, what a witty, intelligent and educated reply! what kind of music journalist says "Guns N' Roses record will almost certainly suck so bad"? one obv not worth listening to. it just annoys me how many impressionable minds will just go along with what they read in kerrang and take their word for it. and how the fuck can they assume that chinese democracy will be sleaze rock?! im thinking it'll be anyting but sleaze rock.

i hope axl refuses anything to do with kerrang, that magazine is a joke.

nothing's changed since Get in the Ring with kerrang - I hope GnR never do any sort of interview with them - they bite. am fed up with fair-weather journos.

I remember reading this (ahem) review. Worst piece of music journalism I've ever seen. I wouldn't have minded so much had he said they didn't like it because..........., but they couldn't even do that. Pathetic.

A point I try to make every time the magazine contradicts itself like that... there are a lot of people who write for that magazine, and they're not all connected to one singular brain.  They all have their own opinions, which is why you'll find two different people saying completely different things about a band sometimes in the same issue.  They're people after all, not the borg.

I tend to have a flick though Kerrang! each week, although i donot buy it. I have from time to time formed the impression that Kerrang! would like to see Gn'R fail. Now i get the impression that Kerrang! are waking up to the fact that the new Gn'R line-up are sounding good and Kerrang! will have to start respecting this. What with the album just around the corner, Kerrang! really do appear as if they are trying to get into Gn'R (Axl's) good books. Who knows, maybe Axl has burnt his bridges with Kerrang! for good and wants nothing more to do with them ?:peace:

..or maybe Mick does not work there anymore so Axl will give Kerrang! a 2nd chance? :hihi:

The Kerrang review of GNR at Download was brutal, and to be frank, bullshit. I think they were called "AXL ROSE AND THE OTHERS" instead of "GUNS N ROSES" throughout the length of the 'review'. Maybe they've changed their spots because they want to get an Axl interview when the album comes out.

I've just checked... there wasn't an article on Buckcherry in last week's Kerrang!

There was an album review though! Although not exactly sure if it was last week or the week before! But yeah the album review had a completely unnecessary dig at GN'R in it! I was mad when I read it!  >:(

I've just gone through the 5 previous issues of Kerrang! and there's not so much as a mention of Buckcherry.

It's an ill wind that blows nobody good. Things are turning.
Guess the wind of change is so evidently rising that even the dullest witted mug can tell.
an inversion, turnabouts and/or changeovers ahead.

kerrang magazien has gone from a good magazine to a gossip bullshit magazine in a few years time. i don't need kerrang to tell me what they think about gn'r, but i gotta admit: some good reviews means good promotion.

I don't think there's any excuse for Kerrang's unprofessionalism.  For a magazine that has an almost monopoly when it comes to rock/alternative music reporting in the UK, they are downright inept at most things.

It is blatantly obvious that they don't try for any house style.  You can't say 'Kerrang hates GnR' or 'Kerrang loves GnR' because they change their stance depending on who wrote that week's little article or review.  They don't have any consistency in opinion.  This wouldn't be so bad if they could justify what they are saying but they use 'journalists' that have clearly just fallen out of media class and don't have a clue what a proper review consists of.  They will write based on how they feel about the band/album/whatever, without giving any thought to deconstructing their opinions and actually, intelligently, backing up their comments.

It's just a shame that pretty much any rock fan in the UK started out reading Kerrang and that's a trend that will probably continue.  Someone needs to topple them from their throne.  Mags like Terrorizer and Metal Hammer have much better journalists, for example.

So long as people buy Kerrang though, there's no need for them to stop peddling their bullshit.

Oh, and there was definitely something about Buckcherry in Kerrang last week as my boyfriend read it too and told me what they'd said.

Kerrang did a review of the new album by looking at leaked tracks and tracks being played live, they slated it.

yeah  metal hammer rocks

they even had axl on the cover of one magazine this year and wrote a positive article about the band. they also reviewed rock am ring (and the hammerstein gigs... i`m not 100% sure about that though) and said that the show rocked.

edit:  a new pic by the way, which was used on various magazine covers....

Kerrang have always got HIM or Nirvana on their cover, and if you don't like it or Metal Hammer theirs always Q with their true story of Nirvana every 3 weeks.

Of course you could aways buy Rolling Stone that US magazine about bands none of us in the UK have ever heard of, or ever will.
