Title: Special Guests for DCU Center, Portland, and MSG Post by: TheDave0206 on October 14, 2006, 01:34:19 PM I didn't see this posted anywhere-
Sebastian Bach will be opening and Papa Roach will be the special guests for these three shows according to the websites of each of the arenas. Nothing on the Baltimore show yet though Title: Re: Special Guests for DCU Center, Portland, and MSG Post by: F*ck Fear on October 14, 2006, 01:41:46 PM Sebastian is opening pretty much every show on the tour. Papa Roach is only playing a certain amount. I wonder who else they will have.
Title: Re: Special Guests for DCU Center, Portland, and MSG Post by: TheDave0206 on October 14, 2006, 01:44:41 PM The original press release had Papa Roach being the special guest through Nov. 3-- The website for each arena says that they are the special guest for the shows i mentioned, and I imagine there wouldnt be 3 openers, so Papa Roach it is.
Title: Re: Special Guests for DCU Center, Portland, and MSG Post by: 1badapple on October 14, 2006, 01:51:49 PM that's probably true. Papa Roach kicks off their own tour on 11-11 in Vegas i believe.

Title: Re: Special Guests for DCU Center, Portland, and MSG Post by: chinesedemocracy05 on October 14, 2006, 03:25:25 PM papa roach sucks, i thought they were not playing worcester Yeah they do. Now i have to see them at the garden. I was really hoping for like the killers. Just saw this for myself on the MSG website. Title: Re: Special Guests for DCU Center, Portland, and MSG Post by: Naupis on October 14, 2006, 03:30:57 PM Quote I was really hoping for like the killers. They are going out soon to headline their own tour. Why in the world would they want to open for GNR every night? Title: Re: Special Guests for DCU Center, Portland, and MSG Post by: CAFC Nick on October 14, 2006, 03:37:29 PM Quote I was really hoping for like the killers. They are going out soon to headline their own tour. Why in the world would they want to open for GNR every night? Exactly, the Killers have got their own tour coming up and at the moment are a much bigger band than GN'R. I enjoyed him as well. :hihi: Title: Re: Special Guests for DCU Center, Portland, and MSG Post by: 1badapple on October 14, 2006, 04:24:02 PM papa roach sucks, i thought they were not playing worcester Maybe you'd rather have Mixmaster Mike? i thought he was great back in 2002 Sorry man, but that scratching records shit got on my nerves after 10 minutes, and judging by the amount of booing that was going on, I wasn't the only one : ok: I don't go to a rock show to hear a DJ scratch records. Atleast Papa Roach plays actual MUSIC. They may not be the best opening act in the world, but atleast it's music- not some dipshit scratching records. You can always go get drunk or stoned or whatever while Papa Roach is playing. Title: Re: Special Guests for DCU Center, Portland, and MSG Post by: Mattattack on October 14, 2006, 04:44:19 PM Who gives a fuck about the opening acts. While Baz and Papa Roach are on I will be at the hotel drinking and listening to GnR.

Title: Re: Special Guests for DCU Center, Portland, and MSG Post by: TOPGUNner on October 14, 2006, 06:40:12 PM It is CONFIRMED that Papa Roach is the opener for MSG...it's on their official website as a just announced confirmed date...it's the last of the confirmed dates actually.
Title: Re: Special Guests for DCU Center, Portland, and MSG Post by: gnrfanxxx on October 14, 2006, 06:52:29 PM Damnit, i might be going to the DCU center. i want pure gnr nothing more :'(

Dammit, I was hoping we'd avoid them ::) Kind of related, I thought the DJ just before the band came on at Hammerstein was cool, I'd much rather listen to a bunch of crowd pumping anthems than some crappy band as a warmup for GNR (or for anyone for that matter.) Title: Re: Special Guests for DCU Center, Portland, and MSG Post by: a. on October 14, 2006, 11:02:13 PM I think the DJ will be there too. Wasn't there something on this new leg of shows that they wanted them to be "Rock N' Roll Parties"? I'm sure you'll have all of the above.
a. Title: Re: Special Guests for DCU Center, Portland, and MSG Post by: TheDave0206 on October 15, 2006, 02:33:55 AM I'm pretty sure that was a tape at the Hammerstein shows... I could be wrong, but it seemed like the same songs in the same order on Friday and Wednesday nights...
Title: Re: Special Guests for DCU Center, Portland, and MSG Post by: TOPGUNner on October 15, 2006, 05:46:36 AM Holy crap! I forgot about that DJ!!! Yeah, that was a lot of fun...great way to pass the time and really sort of erased all of those Bullet for my Valentine memories
Title: Re: Special Guests for DCU Center, Portland, and MSG Post by: gnrfanxxx on October 15, 2006, 02:42:14 PM Damnit, i might be going to the DCU center. i want pure gnr nothing more :'( So show up at 10 and that's what you'll get :peace: i dont wana miss anything Title: Re: Special Guests for DCU Center, Portland, and MSG Post by: RancidPunx on October 15, 2006, 09:04:14 PM papa roach sucks, i thought they were not playing worcester Maybe you'd rather have Mixmaster Mike? Hell yes I would. Some, not all Gn'R fans do not have an open mind when it comes to music and booed both MMM and CKY. If they would have listened, all MMM did was spin a lot of classic rock, and kind of chop it up? a bit. Plus MMM is the DJ for one of the best hip-hop bands of all time (Beastie Boys) CKY was good for the kind of music they play, short fast punk ,and not shitty "punk" like Fall Out Boy , Panic! etc. Now having listened to Papa Roach before and after having to see them as an opener before, I can safely say they blow. I hope that this is just Geffen trying to get one of their bands on the bill. PRoach are not seliing many tix at 100 a pop as the opener. Now AFI on the other hand, has loyal , rabid fans who would pay to see them in a 45 minute opening slot. And unlike Papa Roach, AFI does not suck. Title: Re: Special Guests for DCU Center, Portland, and MSG Post by: guns_n_motley on October 15, 2006, 10:08:25 PM AFI ewww... how about GNR/avenged sevenfold(or trivium)/sebastian bach
Title: Re: Special Guests for DCU Center, Portland, and MSG Post by: BigDeech on October 15, 2006, 10:49:44 PM Trivium would have been good, especially now that they dont have that growl in their music, they even sing the old songs.
Too bad they are busy in Europe. Title: Re: Special Guests for DCU Center, Portland, and MSG Post by: RancidPunx on October 15, 2006, 11:27:11 PM AFI ewww... how about GNR/avenged sevenfold(or trivium)/sebastian bach  Ya, because a lot of the GNR shows are not at 50% capacity. GnR doesn't need the ticket sales that AFI would bring ::) I doubt trivium fans are laying down $100 a pop to see them play a 45 minute set. Title: Re: Special Guests for DCU Center, Portland, and MSG Post by: 1badapple on October 16, 2006, 08:59:43 AM I'm all for AFI opening some shows.
Just for the record, i think CKY was better than MMM. Like i said, when i go to a ROCK show i go to hear LIVE MUSIC, not some idiot spinning and scratching records. It doesn't really matter who opens for GnR, people are still gonna bitch and moan. Everyone seems to be okay with Bach as an opener, but when it comes to having a "newer" band as an opener, everyone complains that all these modern bands suck. I'm convinced that some of you just simply won't allow yourself to like anything post-1994. Title: Re: Special Guests for DCU Center, Portland, and MSG Post by: rhiad on October 16, 2006, 09:51:12 AM I got a REALLY good feeling Shakerleg will be there!!! Remember him from the Hammerstein shows? : ok:
Title: Re: Special Guests for DCU Center, Portland, and MSG Post by: guns97 on October 16, 2006, 02:41:10 PM Papa Roach sings "Getting Away with Murder" I think that's a great song and it'll be worth it just for that...now if Sebastian Bach sings 18 and life and youth gone wild, that'll really be great! Does anyone know if he'll do those songs?
Title: Re: Special Guests for DCU Center, Portland, and MSG Post by: dave-gnfnr2k on October 16, 2006, 02:49:27 PM They should have gotten muse

Does anyone know if he'll do those songs? 95% of Bach's set is Skid Row songs.. Title: Re: Special Guests for DCU Center, Portland, and MSG Post by: guns97 on October 17, 2006, 12:47:43 PM excellent, thanks for the info...the opening acts could be alot worse...PR and Sebastian Bach are odd choices, but decent ones.
