Title: MSG is sold out!!
Post by: TheDave0206 on October 16, 2006, 12:42:26 AM
To avoid getting into the religios/moral BS (not against it, just don't think this is the place for such discussion) of the other thread, wanted to say that you can no longer pull up singles anywhere.  Now its time to start working on Continental

Whew!!? ?:D ? I tried yesterday and pulled up a block of six with no problem -- good seats, too!? Was feeling a little ill.? ?:P

And I appreciate new threads. ?I'd rather see this one run it's course and fade away than have to sift through a million pages on the other one -- having not religiously been reading the whole thing thus having no clue what's going on. ?(And frankly after page three of most threads, not much!) ?It's also a bitch to have to use the search function later to recall something pithy. ?The search doesn't go right to the quote, so back to major sifting.

So ? to GNR, and and other round for you! ?

I dont think you can really count the tix on GNR's site since they are basically thought of by Ticketmaster as being sold.  Most people get their tix through TM and many don't even know GNR has a site, as evidenced by the fact that they bought tix at the same cost but in much shittier locations on TM than they would have had they gone to GNR's site.  Besides, there are only singles left on gunsnroses.com, and they will surely be gone soon enough.

In reference to being able to get large quantities recently, the arena sometimes opens up sections depending on the demand for tix.  In fact, MSG actually opened two sections that I know of after the sale in the 300 section (the first sections on each side toward the back of the stage that were not orginally available, and those went extremely quickly.

-One bit of advice for those who don't have tix--  For virtually every show, the band witholds a certain amount of tickets for their families, the label, etc.  When these seats are not used, they go back into the TM system usually within a few days of the actual concert.  An example would be when I got Billy Joel tix for my girlfriend at the Wach Center in philly last year-- we had seats in the last 2 or 3 rows of the upper deck, but on the day before what was a sold out concert, seats opened up in the first 10 rows in both sections right on the side of the stage.  We were able to trade, and needless to say, like Billy Joel or not, it was a much better experience for all.  (for the record, I actually did the same thing for a birthday gift for my dad two days later and got even better seats for another show in the Philly stand, so it wasn't luck)  Just an idea though...

I wonder if every venue releases tickets late?  PROMOTION, PROMOTION, PROMOTION!!! That's what we need..and you'll see these tickets vanish.

Did anyone else notice that GN'R are advertised on the front page of Ticketmaster now (right side)? You probably need to delete your browser cookies for it to show.

I hate to point this out but those ads aren't free. They're probably advertising on the main page because the ticket sales are still going and they want to sell more. It would look bad if they didn't sell out a few stadiums.

Did anyone receive their tickets.com/GNR.com tickets for MSG yet? I got tickets directly from TM which came a week or so ago, but also bought a set from GNR.com and nothing yet. My c/c was charged for both sets on the same day I think.
