Title: Axl Rose mention on ESPNnews
Post by: dboyd13 on October 14, 2006, 03:54:03 AM
The NHL team the Florida Panthers were giving away Gun's & Roses tickets as a grand prize tonight. ESPNnews had a picture of Axl and made a Welcome to The Jungle reference during the game highlights.

My Wife & I were up at 3 am feeding our 5 week old baby girl. It was a wild and crazy night.  I stayed up an extra
30 mins to make sure I saw the thing correctly. The promotion was a Friday the 13 thing. If a certain player scored, people would get 13 free Chicken wings, the guy scored, the Grand Prize was Guns tickets for the big show there. It was cool. The pic that ESPNnews used looked like it was from AXL at the VMA'S this year.

That Harley Davidson commercials been on for a week or two now. The first time i heard it (TV is in the other room) I thought it was a commercial about the Chinese Democracy release date, so i sprang up and jumped across our dinning table, and tripped over a chair.

Jay Z gets part of his new video played on Monday Night Football.  What a great tool that would be for Guns to use. Use ESPN and get the alpha male sales and easy promotion.  How many millions of people saw that Jay z video today?  Axl is a football fan and has to see the value in ESPN.

I thought of Axl last night and felt bad for him.  His team, the Raiders, are just flat-out awful.
But yes, I too would love to see GNR with the NFL.  Every year since I've been here there has been the talk of Axl performing at the Super Bowl.  I sure as hell hope this can happen.  Perhaps a Christina Aguilera, Axl, hip-hop artist combo/montage?  Now Aguilera could have a wardrobe malfunction anytime by me!

She does have good fake boobs.   Every Nfl kickoff has WTJ pretty much every time.  It seems like a good fit.

Yeah, there is some A-hole that has started some petition to change the Vikings kickoff tune from WTTJ to some non-descript norweigan (spelling, sorry) folk crap.  His rationale is that Vikings never were in the jungle.  What a boob.

I was hoping for a GNR commerical tonight though.
