Title: Are you expecting a mosh pit at the shows? Post by: WhatIsItMan on October 12, 2006, 01:30:08 PM I've read a lot of talk about "moshing" and "the pit" on here lately. I was at Hammerstein, and I didn't see any moshing going on. I really can't even think of a GN'R song you could mosh to, except for the middle part of 'Better', and maybe 'Paradise City'. Just curious as to what everyone is expecting, since I've even seen a lot of people opt for seats over GA.

Title: Re: Are you expecting a mosh pit at the shows? Post by: BumbleFinck on October 12, 2006, 01:42:30 PM there really shouldn't be moshing actually but it doesn't mean it's not going to involve alot of people movign around and running into eachother...just none of that karate chop fag shit.
Title: Re: Are you expecting a mosh pit at the shows? Post by: AdZ on October 12, 2006, 01:43:14 PM There was at hammersmith..
even during the pre-show music. Title: Re: Are you expecting a mosh pit at the shows? Post by: F*ck Fear on October 12, 2006, 01:47:01 PM I don't think a full on pit will start. But I do expect lots of pushing, and crowd surfing. :hihi:
Title: Re: Are you expecting a mosh pit at the shows? Post by: pilferk on October 12, 2006, 01:48:54 PM There was SOME at the May 15th show at the Hammerstein, but not much of it. And I'd say maybe 10 to 15 people, total, were involved...and it was half-hearted at best.
With mostly GA floors at the shows I've looked at, I'd expect some...but wouldn't be surprised if there wasn't any, either. Title: Re: Are you expecting a mosh pit at the shows? Post by: duff_me on October 12, 2006, 02:23:06 PM At Hammersmith, london show there was moshing to every song !! Maybe its like a more european thing, i dont know ???
I wouldnt even go to a show if there was no mosh pits over here. ::) Title: Re: Are you expecting a mosh pit at the shows? Post by: CAFC Nick on October 12, 2006, 02:39:32 PM My Michelle is a moshing song...so is the outro to Paradise City.
Title: Re: Are you expecting a mosh pit at the shows? Post by: SLCPUNK on October 12, 2006, 02:54:44 PM There was some slightly at the NYC shows, but nothing crazy.
The LV shows got a bit pushy, but the crowd reaction to it was very negative. Overall I'm guessing not that much. Title: Re: Are you expecting a mosh pit at the shows? Post by: Derby Greg on October 12, 2006, 02:57:53 PM There was at hammersmith.. even during the pre-show music. What was the deal with those guys that had their shirts off and were going mental even during the support act? Crazies. They should have just gone and got a room. -Greg Title: Re: Are you expecting a mosh pit at the shows? Not a very big one - but there are songs you can mosh to: You Could Be Mine Better My Michelle It's So Easy Nightrain Chinese Democracy Paradise City Welcome to the Jungle (there's probably gonna be a rush when this gets played). So long as people aren't being idiots during Sweet Child O' Mine or November Rain I'm fine with it. Title: Re: Are you expecting a mosh pit at the shows? Post by: Mattattack on October 12, 2006, 03:29:06 PM There will be a rush to get to the front of the stage during the first 3 tracks which are Jungle, Easy, and Brownstone. Unless you're one of the geeks who line up before the doors open, this is the best opportunity to push your way to the front. As we all know Axl won't be going on till past 10, which means 11, so there's no need to show up too early, unless you want to see Mr Savage Animal. Once you get up front after the first three songs, things tend to mellow out when they get into more chilled songs like KOHD. Just make sure to go the washroom right before GnR comes on so you don't have to take a piss during the show and lose your spot.

I am too old and kind of a wimp for that kind of stuff anymore. If only if they were touring when I was in my early 20s, then I would have been in the pit with the rest of ya.

Been doing just that for more than 15 years.... still don't understand people getting up there too early and crushed while waiting for the main band to start... Title: Re: Are you expecting a mosh pit at the shows? Post by: Kitty on October 12, 2006, 04:17:31 PM Not moshing, but probably alot of pushing. Between the two san francisco shows, I had bruises/soreness for over a week from being pushed up against barricade/stage.

Post by: fixintodie on October 12, 2006, 05:58:00 PM Luckily I was with my girlfriend's disabled sister at Nijmegen so we got in the disability area. Moshpits are for selfish morons who don't give a fuck about hurting people, and certainly don't give a fuck about coming to listen to the music.
Title: Re: Are you expecting a mosh pit at the shows? Post by: AxlsMainMan on October 12, 2006, 06:03:11 PM At the May 12th Hammerstein gig, everyone just stood there in shock.... :hihi:
No moshing or real pushing at that gig : ok: Title: Re: Are you expecting a mosh pit at the shows? Post by: Buddha_Master on October 12, 2006, 06:05:32 PM I always thought Moshing was for dudes who never had a dad around to kick 'em in the ass for being stupid.
Title: Re: Are you expecting a mosh pit at the shows? Post by: AxlsMainMan on October 12, 2006, 06:12:10 PM I just rather not loose a few teeth at a Gn'R show.... :hihi:

It was fun tho oh and plz if u see anyone "skanking" punch them in the fuckin face

Title: Re: Are you expecting a mosh pit at the shows? Post by: Mutherfunker on October 13, 2006, 04:11:44 AM I can't believe there's people on a message board of a great rock band saying "moshing... please, no"
That's Rock N' Roll baby. You jam yourself in there at the front as close as you can get to Axl, and you fucking mosh baby. I was moshing most of the show at Hammersmith and the NEC. Come on people live a little, share some bodily fluids, feel some girl up anonimously..... :hihi: @#$%Funker Disclaimer: The funker in no way condones the feeling up of girls at concerts anonimously, introduce yourself first : ok: Title: Re: Are you expecting a mosh pit at the shows? Post by: Disco Volante on October 13, 2006, 04:59:41 AM Mostly just a little pushing and shoving. Nothing crazy. People are usually just fixated with whats happening on stage.

There was some moshing, but not much, but a HELLUVA lot of pushing going on. There were many people during WTTJ being lifted out of the crowd because they were fainting or could breathe with the force of everyone around them. I stuck it out for the entire show...cuz I'm cool.
