Maybe they will be utilizing this as a new way to conduct presales and hopefully other opportunities as well in the future.  Great step for GNR though, getting ready to do something fan integrated like this!

I think if they are making a GNR official fanclub that the main perk of joining is you'll recieve the follow up album to Chinese Democracy 13 years before the anyone else

Though, I noticed that when you click "Buy" on the site, it doesn't direct you to the ticket place, it stays on gunsnroses.com.  I bought my ticket before they did that...I wonder if it counts?  :nervous:

so much of their shows get leaked to the internet, they really should just do what other bands do and sell cds of the show immediately after its over for the fans to buy.

I just hope it's well organised - i.e. you don't pay for a year's membership and then things stop happening with the fan club two months later.

I don't want to pay money get cool stuff. I'm still here, isn't that enough? I've bought all their merch n' CDs n' DVD's n shit, and right now,? I don't have any fuckin' money. and probably not anytime in the near future unless by some miracle I get a job. I spent a lot of money on a GNR ticket. My entire cigarette budget for a month, half a pack a day.
I don't know - keep us updated those lucky few with money, and out of highschool what we're missin'.

Guns N' Roses fans are back, and the band wants to thank them for the tremendous response during the opening days of concert ticket sales. As an added bonus, all fans who buy tickets through GunsNRoses.com will automatically be enrolled in the Guns N' Roses Fan Club free for 90 days.

It only works for some of the U.S. Shows. All the Canadian dates get routed to Ticketmaster.com (should be .ca, but anyway...). Funny how all the good tickets are back onsale, which means that GN'R did hold on to them with the intentions of giving them to their fans as a "thank you", unfortunately that didn't work as most fans were "forced" to buy their tickets on Saturday, which meant choosing from the rest of the seats that TM had left. As everyone knows the tickets.com website did not work for the Canadian shows.... anyway.

Well, as anyone who has checked out gunsnroses.com knows, if you buy tickets through that site you are automatically enrolled for free in the GNR fan club (for 90 days anyway).  Does anyone know yet how to join the fanclub if you don't buy tickets through that site?  Thanks

Yeah - tell me about it.  How about a fucking free fan club?  Don't get me wrong - I like the band and I will support them, etc. but with the price of tickets being what they are you'd think it could be free.  At least I hope it's run decently - they should ask some folks from this site to do it full-time.  Looks like another Metallica-type fan club but at least that one is run well!

I agree the fan site should be free. Considering many of us have been waiting 10+ years for some real GN'R action, it would be the least they could offer.

However, I'm sure that sheer greed and the opportunity to make as much money out of the fans as possible  is far more important to Axl and all involved. After all, GN'R is a money making machine, far  more than it is a music making machine.

In my opinion, fan clubs are always totally rubbish, and really aren't worth the money.

I don't care if it cost money as long as it's worth it.  Do you think they will release a DVD of the Donington show.  That would be pretty cool.

All I can say is anything from the GN'R camp is cool - I have no complaints with the set lists, tour, website and the updates.  IMO - This has been the best GN'R year for the die hard fans.

Also, I couldn't agree more that this year (and next yeat I'm assuming) has been great for die hards!

All these years people have been whinning that the band has been doing nothing, now they do everything and some of you still complain.

Settle down sparky... I never complained about GN'R having a fan club.  If they want to start one great for them, I'm just really indifferent to the whole thing and was curious if everyone else was as interested in the idea as the thread seemed to indicate.

The posts about "all you whiners" are starting to get as bad as the posts made by the whiners themselves.   ::)

i've never been a fan club member, for anything/anyone. but, i want to be a fan club member if members can buy backstage passes, get exclusive downloads or merchandise.   :beer:

the show i am going to wasn't listed as a having a free 90 day fan club membership though.
