Title: Canadian Seats Going Quick
Post by: axlrosehunny on September 30, 2006, 01:46:36 PM
Looks like it is going to be a sell out in all.  This is great as us middle Canadians sure no how to support our rock!

Well when you consider how elusive GNR is up here the fans are definitely gonna seize the opportunity with both hands.

The ticket selling system is fucked up though. I went to the venue to buy the ticket after like 5 hours of the sale and got pretty crappy seats.

You could easily get better seats online and that also that varies from site to site.

I wish it was first come first serve but its not that clear cut.

Ya the ticket selling system is messed up.

The whole pre sale was a little confussing to me.  tickets.com would not work for me.  And after doing some hunting I found the password to the Edmonton presale.  Ended up getting a great seat for that, not floor as floor in edmonton sucks..

Waited in line at ticketmaster at 10 this morning for tickets for calgary and winipeg.  They said there was no floor left.   Bought two great seats for both though.  Came home and checked online and found floor for both, so what gives with that

I refuse to pay $85 for seats in section 104 or 101...a waste of time at the ACC...I'll take my chances with a scalper now...Ticketmaster can suck my ass >:(

There are still alot of really good seast left in both calgary and Edmonton. I'm able to get 4 seats right beside the stage lower level row 16 right now for Edmonton. ?I was also able to get floor seats still for Edmonton. ?In Calgary i was able to get 8 seast all together in the second level beside the stage. It seems like there's more available now tha there was when they first went on sale.

Ticketmaster needs to create a function where you can watch the tickets sell in real time. You should be able to open up a window that shows the seating chart and as the tickets sell the section become higlighted. It would be amazingly helpfull for fans trying to get tickets and it could easily be done.

Ya thats a good idea for ticketmaster.  Would save time, from always looking at that seating chart as well.

I saw the side stage seats this morning for sale.   Would they be any good?  I passed on them and went for the dead center seats

I paid 85 bucks for sec 118 for the Ottawa gig.  >:(

My dreams of seeing GNR from the front row have been squashed.   :'(

Side of the stage is cool cause you're close but you miss out on alot of the stage show. I had side stage seats for motley Crue and it was pretty cool. But when I went to NIN I had side stage seats and I knew imediately that I didn't want to sit there. Lucky for me the building(Rexall Place in Edmnton) was half empty so I went right to the back of the venue and sat ?front row first balcony dead ceter. best choice I could have made. I personally don't think there could ?have been a better spot for that show. ?I think for Guns N' Roses you made the right choice picking the center seats. : ok:

Are the gigs out east Gen Admish too? ?

Been to a few gen admish shows here in Edmonton and they have sucked. ?Why would you want to do that?

I figure a few rows back dead center in like being front row if not better.

General Admission for Ottawa doesn't have seats. I double checked this with the venue. I refuse to go to a rock show if I can't get GA tickets and GA is standing.

Are you in section 110 or 210? if so than yeah those are good seast even though they are at the back of the venue.  For NIN I was in section 210 row 1 dead center.  they were perfect seats.

See I would refuse to go to a stadium or arena concert if all I could get was GA.

I cant put up the a pushy crowd for that long, fighting to get a view.

GA is great is smaller places like a bar or something.

For the Calgary show I am section 113 row 4  <----   direct center
For Edmonton I am section 102 row 10  <----   almost centre of arena
For Winipeg I am section 127 row 10 <---   just off centre but pretty close

I dont know what it is like it the states, or even in other Canadian cities.   Here in Edmonton however GNR gets mega radio play still.  One of the only bands that you can hear on almost all the fm channels.

Edmonton and basically all Alberta really supports live music.  Any band that comes here tends to sell pretty good.

And now with the Canadian dollar almost matching the American dollar.  I hope more bands make the trip up

Plus our beer the the best!!!

After seeing four shows in Europe (Dublin, Hammersmith, Zurich and Paris), I decided to get a seat for Edmonton (Rednecks are pushy). For Calgary, I opted with the floor seats. I was front row in Zurich, but Paris on the floor was absolutely insane... I barely saw Izzy, because I was fighting for air the whole show.

Edmonton is full of red necks.   Mostly blue collar guys with too much money.   I am sure there are people going to this show, not as fans, but just for something to do.

The line up this morning at ticketmaster was something.  I think I was the only one there with a wife!  haha, GNR brings out all kinds

This has been the worst morning of my life lol! Get this! I've got great tix to all the shows I'm going to Edmonton, Everett, and Portland. The only tix I missing are CALGARY!!! I've been getting tix on ticketmaster for years and I've never had a problem untill this morning. I have no clue what the fuck was going as I needed 4 floor tix and couldn't get them. I'm still trying although I don't think it will happen on Ticketmaster for me. This is great news though for GNR as the Canadian shows seems to be on fire! Or this could be the biggest smoke show a promoter has ever pulled of if the place is only half full lol. Let me know if you guys have any extra GA tix for sale?

GNR2theBone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2002 was nearly sold out. however they released some 100s the day of the show to fuck over the scalpers. But the floor was totally gone.

depending on where in the 100s, the ACC isn't too bad. You'll get a decent view.

Halifax only has a couple of upper bowl sections left.  Should be sold out in a few hours hopefully.  I think it seats around 10,000.

In Edmonton there are no double seats left in the 100's
In the 200's only as far back as you can get.

Near sell out now

It's fucking awsome man! I wanted Section 120(or 136) row ten, I got section 120, row 13 which is exactly right across from you. Your seats are the seats I would choose if I had a choice.  They're the same as mine but only on the other side of the ice. : ok:

Ya those are going to be pretty good seats.  I am just a few sections over towards center.

I just hope the sound is a lot better than when Velvet Revolver came to town.  It was like a wall of bad sound sitting at the sides

This is funny as I am going to sound like that Bono guy.

I have section 102 which is right across from you.  Row 10.  I am happy with it as it isnt two close to the side of the stage you will be able to see most of the stage and still be pretty close.

The larger the stage will only help our view and hurt the others view for being to close

Ahhh its good to hear the Canadian dates are selling quickly. ?I'm driving up from Lethbridge for the Edmonton show. ?The next day I've got class at 10am ahahah. ?But GnR playing to a packed house will be wild... Who could miss that?

I've checked ticketmaster and I guess they've opened up the seats behind the band... thats definitely a good sign because they only do that for the biggest shows like Pearl Jam.

that's a rip off. the Gn'R stage set up won't allow fasn to see from behind the stage. Too many video screens hanging int he way. total rip off. I would not buy those seats unless it was an open stage setup.

Title: Re: Canadian Seats Going Quick
Post by: axlrosehunny on September 30, 2006, 03:27:56 PM
Ya I would never buy behind the stage, unless it was like a bowl concert or something.   Especially as they are going for the same price with no discount.

But if you just want to get in it might be worth it.  Not to hard to sneak to the floor, once the bands start playing

flying from Vancouver with my 56 year old mom and meeting my bro. in calgary. ?we got row 6 in sec. 226...i'm happy should be able to see everything. Only seats left are lower bowl seats are behind side stage only and way up in the very back. It will be a sell out for sure by Dec. 10th.....especially if they release an album/single by then. These shows are going to rock. Too bad for no Vancouver shows......we shot ourselves in the foot i'm afraid with the riot.

Was going to go to Everett ....but for a round trip flight to Calgary on West jet it was 220. Which was cheap. Its a bonding thing with my Bro. and mom....we grew up on GNR and my Mom was cool enough to let us little punks listen and not judge us for it. So its a family thing more than a geographical thing. I would love for the show to be in Vancouver cuz i have some contacts in the concert biz which may have allowed me some sort of opprotunity to be backsatge and have a little more access to the band.

I would try ticketmaster or just be patient and see what pops up.  You could always by the cheaper seats and sneak down to the floor

I ended up taking 5 seats close to the stage, but at a bad angle from the side and just slightly behind for the Edmonton show. Probably could have done a whole lot better with a scalper or maybe if I waited till the day of the show to buy, but I needed 5 tix and didn't want the extra hassle. Ticketmaster really is a fucked up system. I hate how they never let their customers know what's going on with ticket sales. In 2002 I went to the MSG gig and 2 hours before showtime I bought a ticket at the door for the floor at center stage about 5 rows back. Four of my friends did the same thing and got tickets at center stage in the first five rows. And supposedly that show was sold out months earlier.

Still loads of tickets left for Edmonton and Calgary. I tried to see if I was able to get some today just out of curiosity and I was still able to get tickets in groups of 1 through 8.  There seemd to be alot of seats left at the far end of Rexall Place in Edmonton yet the only seats that would come up for Calgary were seats behind the stage.

Not really loads. Put in 2 tickets and you can't even get price level one. That means floors and 100 level is basically sold out. Yeah you can pull up 8 seats in the 200 level at price level 2, but those will fill in more slowly, remember the show is almost two months away.

For Ottawa, for 2 tickets, you're in the 300 level. Looking forward to that show :)

Winnipeg appears to be doing really well also.  2 tickets there also puts you in the 300 level at the MTS Centre.  This is great, I was really doubting whether Winnipeggers would be willing to see Axl and the "new" lineup but they are pulling through.

A lot of seats are also being sold at the back of the arena in the 300 level because they are the cheapest seats and we all know how stiff Winnipeggers can be in terms of money or at least for the curiousity factor of seeing the new band without spending the big bucks.

I hope it is not Billy talent.

I havnt heard of anyone else and know one seems to know.   Guess we will find out when the tour starts and not before!

I hope they do use a good Canadian rock band and nothing to American.  Like Buckcherry or Papa Roach

Yes it sucks they're not coming to B.C.? I'll still be making the trip from Victoria to Everett. I was hoping that they'd hit The Save on Foods Centre, so I could save the money on Ferry and Hotel. I'll be happy as long as Chinese Democracy is out before the show however.
