From VelvetRope (there are some "insiders" there but I have no idea if this guy is legit or talking out of his ass):

--Single is going to be released in the next month, with CD coming out in November. Band is going to record a few songs this month, that I am fairly certain Izzy penned.

I don't think he implied they would be on CD. At least that's not how I read it. Whether or not I believe him is another story.

If CD is coming out this year, its either a single in Oct or Nov. So he has a 50% chance of being right.

Guys question, does anyone remember a comment from someone in GNR (maybe Fortus or Thal) about Izzy having written a song during the Euro tour? Because I honestly do remember something like that. Or I'm going nuts.

Izzy needs to keep his ass outta this band. I want things to get done, no interference. I am narrowmined, Axl is the only person in my head that is still around, andthis is NEW gnr, not guest appearances by former bandmates on whatever they want ?AHHHH whatever tho. ?:'(

Remember folks--anyone can register and post at the Velvet Rope. Unless we hear something from the band or mgt, we should assume it's false.

I can imagine Izzy would write a few bits with Axl, but I doubt they will be recorded this month.

Hmmm with Izzy seemingly cool with Axl again, I wonder if something could come of that?

I wouldn't be suprised...  I mean they traveled a lot together from New York to Europe.  Even though my guess would be that they weren't in the same vehicles going from town to town.   Why wouldn't they write something?  They're artists...

True or False, Izzy is still Guns n'Roses, all be it ex. If he pens a song or 2 and they use them. He gets credit, nothing wrong with that. It's all cool  :beer:

It's inevitable with such prolific songwriting talent, coupled with an entire summer on tour, that a few things were written...I seem to remember Axl mentioning a new song w/ izzy, but whether we see it or not is anyone's guess.

This would be really sweet.  Heck, even if they released some material co-written by them under Izzy's solo name or something else would be cool.  I agree it would be utterly ridiculous to have Izzy fully re-join a band that already has three guitarists.  But it would be nice to have him write some stuff, since we know Izzy trails only Axl in the songwriting department of the old Guns catalogue.  I like the new stuff, but it would be nice to have some more blues-based, Stonesy type stuff to listen to as well.  "Guess we'll have to wait and see..."
