With these presales, how did it generally work last time? Was there an hour window before the other presale that's put on by the promoting radio station? Or was it on a completely different day? Reason I ask, is that if this ends today at 6:00 PM, then I assume between that time and the following morning we will get the information, but if they go onsale that morning it may not leave us enough time. Just a question/thought....

I have a question though. When is the Internet Pre-Sale for the Toronto, Ontario, Canada show??? Tickets go on sale to the General Public @ noon THIS Friday and www.ticketmaster.ca doesn't have any Pre-Sale options yet.

Yeah, but it only lets you select one from the drop down list. And if I go back to that page, and try and do it for another show, it says the e-mail address has already been used.

I might be doing something wrong though, I'm quite hungover.

Thanks a million again.  I myself rushed through the form and neglected to notice that I could choose multiple shows.  I'm planning another GNR road tour again this time around (went to six shows in 2002).  I signed up for Toronto, but I'd love to get a crack at presales for Ottawa and Quebec city as well.  Should I resubmit my info or just hope that in most cases the password will be the same for most if not all pre-sales.

Also, I was going to let the guys know at the Dust N' Bones mailing list about this.  Hope that's alright (as you're a member, you'll know that most of those guys have been around since 1996 or so).

We would get the password the nite of the presale. Ie if tis at 10am friday, we would get it around midnight the nite before so u only have 10 hours that way the password wont leak to scalpers

Jarmo, if one selects "more then one show", is there less of a chance for that person to get in on the presale for one particular show?

For example, if I choose "more then one show", and for what ever reason can only attend the NYC show, does the fact that I choose "more then one show" lessen my odds for getting in on the NYC show?

I know you are a busy man, but another quick question...any idea why some of the shows are not listed on ticketmaster.com's site, but they are on livenations site? The NYC and NJ shows are on livenation, but not ticketmaster, for example..

That show was scheduled to sell on the 7th of Oct.  I would look for something next week.

No, but I know from past experiences of doing fanclub orders. In I think all cases you can only order the allotted amount at one time.. then go back for more (of the same amount). This was the case for INXS and Motley Crue

- I don't know what time the pre-sale will happen.

- I don't know when the shows will show up on the ticket sites.

- I don't know when the e-mail will be sent out at this point.

- I don't know when/if the shows not listed will have a pre-sale.

- The ticket limit on the sign-up page isn't really that important as far as I know, since the ticket sites probably have other limits.

I think it's way out of Jarmo's hands... Mgt probably needed a list this evening to populate a group to distribute the password to via email.  Asking for signups to reopen seems out of the question at this stage.  I'd stop asking before they don't do this again. I'm sure that many managed to check the site and get on the list... that's life  :peace:

im assuming once you have your password you can get your tickets whenever (obviously before the on sale date), ie there isnt a 'window' to get your presale tickets like there was to sign up for a pre-sale password, right?

Yeah, usually there is a presale window... The friday presale is 9am-9pm.? :peace:

Understandable. I'm trying to go to the NYC show. I just wanted to get my hands on a couple of cheap seats for me and my buddies.

This is how it works:

Those who are chosen will be emailed and you will be given a link and a password, keep it to yourself, on the time and day of the presale you hit it, usually there is a time limit to go by. ?Do not post that you have gotten tickets until after presale has ended, that is the golden rule here, and that is how it works. how do they pick who gets pre-sale passwords? is it completly random, will most people get the password?

Most people that have been on the boards/forums for a lengthy time will get the PW... newcomers (few-day members) usually get skipped to avoid potential scalpers.

If you get picked you will get picked and if you don't ?then you didn't, no questions asked, it's all in the game of luck!! :peace:

I know for Hammerstein there were two presales. The one for forum members was an hour before the normal one.

The email that you posted in the presale is the one the password will get sent too...does not matter if it is diffrent then the email associated with your account.

I'm thinking there is going to be a presale for all the cities that don't already have a presale.

For example/ The radio station in Edmonton is doing a presale on Friday through ticketmaster. A pw will be mailed out by the radio station sometime tomorrow.

Time will tell... within 48 hours it'll all be over.  Comforting, eh?  :peace:

Usually there are a variety of passwords from different sources for presales... at least thats my experience with other bands.  Could be true for your edmonton show.. time will tell, i suppose.  :beer:

If you follow the rules, have a good e-mail system, keep checking it, and know how to use ticketmaster properly you will be fine. This forum helped me go to the Hammerstein shows, relax and pay attention.

I'm gonna be incommunicato for about an hour while I drive to work and set up there.  It's gonna be the longest hour EVER.  For the Hammerstein shows, I knew the go time, so I just stayed home until it was over. 

I appreciate the Pre-Sale though, and everyone that is making this happen  : ok:  :peace:

Yeah I just found out that there is a Pre-Pre Sale for Toronto. House Of Blues (The Promoter) has a Pre-Sale @ 10AM Today & then there is the "Regular" Pre-Sale @ Noon on Ticketmaster and then Friday @ Noon tickets go on sale to the general public. Talk about complex!

Good luck getting the tickets you want.  I'm dealing with the same thing for 3 shows that go on sale at the same time...

Individual venue/promoter presale passwords have been coming out since yesterday for the upcoming on sale dates. ?People here a stressing about the fan forum presale passwords.

For the rest of the NY people - TIcketmaster now shows the MSG date, and says presale starts tomorrow at 9am.  NJ date has not shown up yet.  I was so upset when I got to work & thought I was the only one who didn't get the email...

Well that's the case with every presale, I got an e-mail from the DCU center yestarday with a presale password for the Worcester show in MA.  The presale info in the e-mail said it was for Friday at noon.  Ticketmaster.com says the presale is 10:00am.  So now I'll have to wait and see if Jarmo gets a different password.  The presale is always a hassle, nothing new to see here.

Well, it's about time for me to head off to class (for a test, otherwise I'd skip). I guess if the pre-sale happens this afternoon I won't be able to be a part of it. I was hoping for the morning but I guess it was not to be. Hopefully I'll still be able to get good seats when they go on sale to the public. If the pre-sale happens today, good luck to all those who will try to get some tickets!

BTW unless you are going to MSG you will be able to get tix easily for your venue, I dont know why everyone is getting so worked up. The band is still not even promoting this tour yet and the only peopple that know about it are the die hards. Soo calm down.

so it's not looking good with less than 1 hour til the presale starts and none of us have a password. anyway, i am sure there is a good reason for it, and regardless of what happens, we will all end up seeing the shows we want to see. and i want to extend my thanks to Jarmo for facilitating the pre-sales. i cant speak for all the shows, so i could be wrong about this, but last time when they did the presale for the hammerstein shows the password leaked and everyone made a big fuss about it.

less than an hour before the presale (maybe even about 15 minutes before) a new password was sent out.

im assuming that to prevent further leaks, all passwords will be sent out very last minute this time.

He said that the Venue (Air Canada Centre) is just to big for GN'R in their current state (No Album, No Single, No Video, No Album Release Date) He said that the ACC holds about 20,000 for concerts and if it was the Original Lineup GN'R would sell out 3 shows. U2 sold out 4 shows @ the ACC recently.

You can still get tickets through the HOB Pre-Pre Sale for the Toronto show. The regular Pre-Sale had slightly better tickets available but they both had the General Admission Floors.

No the stage is at the other end of the building. It's a West End Stage Set Up in Toronto. The stage is by Sections 110 & 117.

I already got GA Floors... I hate seats :)

I was at the ACC in 2002, there were 15,000 approx there. It only holds about 16,000 or so for concerts unless they sell the seats behind the stage (some bands do that but it's lame).

Hate to trash your friend but since both presales are still ongoing, I doubt he knows what he's on about. Especially since HoB no longer has floors, and the radio presale are giving tickets to Floor 3, which I believe is at the back since there's just 3 floor sections each with a left center and right area. I'm lucky I got the floors when I did :P

I saw Pearl Jam from behind the stage @ The ACC and it was great - but they had an Open Stage. There was nothing at the back of it so you could see right through & Eddie Veder made sure to turn around and sing to the back of the stage on numerous occasions.

That won't happen for GNR - they've got the screen etc. 2002 took a while to fill up also and I'd expect that again.

Yeah HOB doesn't have Floors available right now but the Ticketmaster Pre-Sale still does.
I thought the floors were General Admission? I don't think they're going to seperate them. It just says Floor 3 because the Ticketing system is set up for Reserved Seating on the Floor as that is how most concerts are @ The ACC - including GN'R in 2002!

If you get Floors they are General Admission for the WHOLE Floor - so get there early.

Plus they'll save some Floors for the General Public On Sale Date - Tomorrow.

Not to sound pissed but Iam sure i was to get presale passwords and still i have nothing. Please jarmo i know this is frustrating for you but it is ten times frustrating for me and iam sure others out there that have been huge fans for a very long time that have never seen them before (VANCOUVER) i dont want to have to drive 8hrs just to end up getting shitty seats. i appreciate jarmo trying to facilitate all this and putting up with our whining, but quite frankly this is something that should have been done through the band's official website to avoid all this confusion.

the lack of coherence in how guns does their 'promotion' i guess shouldnt be a surprise by now, but if things are for real this year, you'd really expect a better effort :no:

The band's official website still sports the 2002 World Tour logo and has not even half of the dates listed there and is owned by the record label.  Would you really want them running a pre-sale event in the current state they are in?

I don't really agree you should be complaining about something that is being done solely for the fans here.

GNR is currently doing their promoting on the radio.  GNR Weekend on Q104.3, radio promos nonstop, newspaper ads, etc...

thats my point though---they should have updated the official website as tourdates were announced through local stations and set-up the presale accordingly  (as was more or less done in 2002)

and i am not ungrateful at all....again, i appreciate the effort to reach out to the board community and especially jarmo's patience in putting it together...but that doesnt change my opinion there is probably a better way to do things then how they are going about it.

It's a ahard thing to do and amek it fair. I agree the "official" Gn'R website is a fucking joke but even U2's official site fucked up the presale on their last tour royally. Honestly as cool as the presale's are I thin mayeb the fairest way is to to only allow people to buy tickets to shows at actual Ticketmaster outlets and have it on a first come first serve basis.  I didn't say it was totally fair becasue no doubt some people live very far from TM outlets but it might be "the most fair" way of doing it.

Ticketmaster outlets are the worst scalpers there are. ?You fare better online and I know this because I used to work for one. ?The management of said place (I won't name names) would print out hundreds of tickets to sell to brokers before they even let the 1st customer in the door for shows they knew would sell out. ?Ticketmaster themselves cannot control this, I know but it happens in their outlets. ?When you buy tickets online even if you refresh the page too often it bumps you off and then you have a waiting period before you can log back on in case you are using a bot program to get tickets. ?

This is why I think fanclubs and pre-sales are a great idea even though they do not always work out as planned. ?I for one, am very greatful to have participated in some and have gotten tickets I wouldn't have normally been able to get.

you're probably right but then all the websites that offer them dont get to spam you with a bunch of other email you might not otherwise want.

i guess what tempers this for me a little more still is that they decided to make a bulk of the seats GA, which really means whether you get them today or saturday, you have an equal chance at being up front depending on what time you arrive. i also think that with the exception of probably msg, none of these shows is going to sell-out within a small time period.

Is there anyway for a confirmed fan like myself to be added to the list?  I've been out of town and misses the signup.  I really want to goto the show in Hunnington, WV.  If there's any excpetion to the rule, please let me know.

Maybe the ebst way is to than sell tickets through sites like this(I know Jarmo ?will cringe at that :rofl:) and at the official site for a few days untill the sales slow and then allow ticketmaster to sell the remaining tickets. There's gotta eb a way of getting the best seast into the real fasn hands. I've got front row seats at a ticket master outlet before. It's luck of the draw. If some are corrupt, well that sucks but most of them won't be.

I received the email for the 15th and 17th at 12:58 am when tickets went on sale at 9am

For the 12th and 14th I received the email at 5:11pm and tickets went on sale the next morning at 9am

yeah but there's a presale tomorrow on ticketmaster ???.  But what I ment was I'm tired of having to get people tickets who "wanna go so badly" yet are never willing to try and get the tickets for themselves. it's always me they ask to do it and of course I'm gonna get tickets so I say sure. NO MORE! if these freinds of mine wanna go so badly than they can get their own tickets. Why should the quality of my seat have to suffer just because   my friends "want" to come. I'll go by myself I don't care.

ugh, this is just like the Hammerstein shows...I think I didn't sleep for like 3 or 4 days leading up to the presale...then of course, i didn't get tix through the presale, and didn't sleep a wink that night because the next day was the general onsale. Thank GOD, I got tix for 2 nights.

The best part is that the Toronto, Ontario, Canada show had 2 Pre-Sales Yesterday. The Pre-Pre Sale @ 10AM Yesterday through the Promoter (HOB) and then another one through a local Radio Station & Ticketmaster @ Noon Yesterday.

The press release is dated the 28th and says the site will go live tomorrow. Which I assumed means today.

But the TM.com pre-sales are today as well. So if the GN'R pre-sale is tomorrow, it's happening on the same day as the general on sale....

However, Jarmo, the password I recieved was linked to livenation.com, and their website says that they have a pre-sale today.

The Email I recieved says

"Presale runs Friday September 29th 9am - 9pm

PRESALE PASSWORD - **********"

and then has a link to the ticketmaster page for the show

The New Jersey and New York shows are NO LONGER listed on ticketmaster.com, from my computer atleast. However, you can still get to the pages from the emails you recieved about the pre-sales. I'm guessing this is to try and weed out some people who have the password, but arent supposed to.

I don't understand how the radio station pre-sales are happening now, but the fan forum pre-sale is supposed to happen after the TM.com / radio station pre-sales.

People seemed to think the list was to get the passwords for the TM pre-sale, but it wasn't. I assumed the fan forum pre-sale was gonna happen before the radio station pre-sales. I guess it didn't.

I don't know how to get the best tickets.

By the way guys - don't forget how these presales work sometimes.  Often, they release a specific block of tickets for the presales.  It's very possible that these ticketmaster presales do NOT have the best seats in them.  Maybe the best seats are reserved for the GNR website presale.  You never know.......  Just because it's starting later doesn't mean anything.

Obviously if you can get GA Floor they are releasing the good seats/area.

I've already turned down 4 different "offers" from Ticketmaster as the seats they're offering are not ideal.  Will continue to try through this pre-sale event, and if nothing works out, then I'll try again later.  Very frustrating.
