Actually no its the original ASF file recorded directly from the feed.. the 551k feed also you converted it to mpeg 2 which made it a bigger file.

Ok Just cause you convert this same source to a mpeg 2 and it makes the file bigger does not make it any better of a video.. Go ahead and leave the thread cause you dont know what your talking about.  This is the 551k stream.

Dude Brody is right. You are wrong. He grabbed exactally what was streamed. And we was connected at 551, so the highest. They broadcasted it as .asf and this is the best there is. All you did was convert is to an MPG which just makes it like 3 times bigger but doesn't make it better. That makes absolutely no sense, thats ridiculous. Thanks Brody! :beer:

Thanks EFISH, I realized that there was no point in hosting the mpeg at a 900 mb download after i converted it and it tripled the size. Thats why I hosted it at the original feed. asf/wma

I have talked to two others though who recorded there streams (they are on T1) and basically there .asx files are 950MB

Bandita's file, which was 300MB also, was only encoded at 309kps

Nevermind, I finally got it working. It's not in the original source quality. The original was 550+ kbps. This one is 340 kbps.

What's funny about the whole thing is when I was wataching it, my WMP said it was 515 but the same exact link that I sent to download, and yes this was the HQ link, downloaded at 309.

Brody is right, there is NO need to download a huge file if you just plan to watch it on your computer, the asf will work just fine.  Converting it just makes it bigger, not better.

Brody, I decided rather than host your file, I'm gonna try and cut up your file into individual files, and they post those links (you can of course post them anywhere)

Anyone know a good program for splitting video files, and one that doesn't re convert? I downloaded one, but when I go to split it, it wants to reconvert it, and I think that will lose quality

Brody, I have WMP11 (which is still in Beta). The problem with this file is that when you click it, at first WMP11 doesn't even recognize it. But you tell it to play it anyway, and then there's just a black screen. But if you drag the slider a little ways then it starts playing. It plays perfectly fine in VLC, so I have no idea what's wrong with its compatibility with WMP11.

Also, I edited my first post to point out that it's not the same quality as the stream from last night. It's not noticeable unless you put it in full screen. When you do that, it's clearly different. The one you provided has a 340 kbps bit rate. The stream last night was 500 something if I'm not mistaken. But like I said in my previous post, it's very generous of you to post this for all of us. EDIT: I just downloaded Bandita's version and it's also 340 kbps, but it plays right away in WMP11 with no problems. Thanks to both of you for capturing these. Too bad the original source quality wasn't that great to begin with.

As an edit to this, I tried to open yours in WMP and it wouldn't play either, I am guessing because you changed the file tag. ?But it did play fine in VLC-

i always reccomend it because it works great.. try Ulead VideoStudio10.. easy splitting, and when you're done... just click "Save video as same settings"

EFISH do you know a program that will handle asf to DVD?

sorry, didn't mean to get your hopes up, but I am not authoring the dvd, I have no time to do that right now, plus I know at least 5 other people will end up authoring the same video anyway, so I am not wasting my time authoring it, thus I will not be sharing my dvd as it doesn't make sence too...sorry if I got your hopes up, but like I said I am sure there will be a bunch of people authoring this and soon enough 1 will prolly end up on dime


yeah, Ulead VideoStudio is pretty easy to use, and you should be able to find a free trial version somewhere

I don't think my Nero Vision handles DVD it's a brand new version and I didn't have a DVD option on there.  I am doing a conversion with Ulead Video Studio though.  Then I just need to figure out how to put chapters in and author it.

I was on the 551k stream.. that fastest one they had going..  for some reason net transport only grabbed this at 350k so now your saying that KROQ or ATT were streaming this at 1000k? LIVE? NO THEY WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO HANDLE THAT KIND OF LOAD.

My net transport took a 950MB file. My brother too.

Brody, your file looks great, stop answering this guy.  I just converted mine, which looked exactly like the webstream in asf and now it looks crappy and is also 2.4GB now.  Granted I can now watch it on my TV but with serious loss of quality.

People should decide for themselves if it is worth converting.

The original source asf is the best you will see this, Mrbrownstoner please go pick a fight somewhere else.

I downloaded the file that Brody posted and I converted it to an MPEG-2 file.  I actually got pretty good results, well, at least good enough that I think it would make a good DVD.  The picture quality held up pretty well IMO.  I'm going to try to author a DVD with it.  I'm not saying mine will be the best version out there, that's not the point of all this.  I'm simply doing this for myself, to try to learn a bit about DVD authoring and to hopefully get a cool DVD in the end, with chapters and the whole nine yards.  Maybe it'll come out like crap when it's all said and done, I don't know, but I am willing to share whatever the end result is if people want me to.

The problem I have is that, while both the video and audio quality have held up through the conversion pretty well, they are now out of synch for some god damn reason.  The video is like two seconds ahead of the audio and really kills the whole experience.  I tried converting it twice and I get the same result.

Does anyone know of a way that I can take the audio and just move it forward to match the video?  I'm thinking this sort of thing is pretty easy, I've read posts in the past where people have cut and added audio to a DVD; I assume it's the same thing as adding a silver pressing CD audio to a bootleg video for example.

Could someone tell me what software is available that would let me do this?
