The US tour starts on the 20th of October in Jacksonville and the shows
that were due to take place between the 27th of September and the 2nd of
October have just been moved to fit into the body of the tour. There
will be an announcement next week of the entire tour. The rest of the
below message is crap. The album will be out this year as Axl has
previously stated.

I've heard it weeks before, but didn't want to post it straight away for
obvious reasons. The story is, we've heard from someone very high up in
the food chain of the GNR tour that all California shows after KROQ will be
postponed until December. The source continues.. "After Sept 23rd, the
band goes into studio to complete final mixing of the album, and the album
will come out before December" ... "Towards new years, they will fly to Miami
for a show... and ON new years eve, they plan to perform in Dubai" ... take
it for what it is, still a rumour.

GN'R reschedules Sep 27 - Oct 5 dates [updated]

GN'R have postponed the US dates that were to take place between September 27th and October 5th. The dates have been moved to fit into the main body of the tour, which starts on October 20th in Jacksonville, FL at the Veterans Memorial Arena.

The rescheduled dates will take place later this year or early next year (depending on show).

The shows with new rescheduled dates known so far are:

Fresno, CA @ Save Mart Center: September 27th, 2006 -> December 13th, 2006
Bakersfield, CA @ Rabobank Arena Theater and Convention Center: September 29th, 2006 -> January 11th, 2007

Still sticking to "The album will be out this year as Axl has previously stated." It has to be coming if at this late in the year they are still saying that confidently.

Also great to hear that they are going to fully announce the tour instead of just the odd date. The ball finally seems to be rolling.

This is great news, I agree, but its still somewhat commical. I mean there are 3 months left in this year, and all we are hearing is "it will be out this year". Now im not complaining at all, but its just funny because there is going to be hardly any promotion at all before the release date.

The only way I see them having a good bit of promotion is if they release the album info next week with the US tour dates, and it be like a December release date. Then they have a good two and a half months to promote it.

Either way this is great news, thank you for posting it.

That's awesome news. I just wonder when were gonna hear the lead single. It's basically October so it should be right away if the album is coming out for sure within the next 3 months.

Do you guys think this anouncement will include smaller venues?  What was the real deal with ticket sales? Were they bad? Slow? average? selling out?  If they have to play smaller venues that's fine. There's nothing wrong with that. ijuts wonder if they'll do it.

The thing is none of us really know why the dates got rescheduled. Was it to finish mixing the album?? Or was it because of poor ticket sales??

At this point I really dont know, although im leaning more towards them doing it so they could get the album done.

I'm thrilled about the tour, don't get me wrong, but hearing again that CD will be out this year is way more important to me at this point.  Good news all around - thanks to everyone for the updates!

Merck didn't mention that details regarding the albumj would be included in the announcement next week.   ???  I would think that would be the perfect time to make an announcement with only really 2 months left in the year to release the album.

Even if he didn't say anything about it now, it could still happen.

If they don't announce the album release date along with the tour dates, I don't think think the album is coming out this year. Axl is probably trying to get his record company to let him release the album this year, and that's why we've had no announcement. The record company might already have too many big albums coming out this fall and want to wait till 2007 to release CD. The record company has final say on when the record comes out and that's something that we should all brace ourselves for. I really hope it comes out this year but I'm not 100% convinced it will.

I gotta assume the announcement is coming either Monday or Tuesday.

I would think the album is going to be part of the announcement as well. Even if it isn't we know it's coming this year since Axl said it twice and Merck just reconfirmed.  :)

Don't forget that Merck said that 2005 would be the year of Guns N' Roses. If they don't announce the album release date along with the tour dates this week, I would be leary about a 2006 release. Axl and Merck have the perfect excuse if the record doesn't come out this year, they can just blame it on the record company not allowing them to release the album.

Very exciting news for sure!! But we all know that in the world of Guns N' Roses, anything can go wrong and change in an instant.  It's so unfathomable for me to think that CD may actually come out this year, just because it's been so long. yeah, this will be interesting.. Why have two announcement in a matter of weeks.. when you can take one BIG... I think there is a chance that we will hear something this week, if the album weill be realeased this year...

this is definitely going to be an exciting week. i think the it is very important to get the CD out before the tour, so pushing the dates back even though merck said to fit the body of the tour, is a good move, with CD out, gnr will get some new mainstream media play, which will open the band up to a new wave of fans.

Ricker on 99.9 KISW, Seattle, is making a GnR announcement tomorrow. I'm guessing that the tour will be announced tomorrow. I hope Ricker gets to do an interview with Axl, he's one funny fucking guy.

I agree with you 100% . Without an album release date announcement very shortly after this Tour announcement, we run the risk of it being 2002 all over again in terms of attendance figures not in major cities. Not to mention that the last time a casual fan saw/heard GNR was the 02 VMA's, not exactly a resounding endorsement of the band. A new single would do wonders to get people talking in positive terms about the band, rather than local DJ's who will make the tour announcement, and proceed to mock Axl about still failing to put out an album.

Bottom line is they cant tour tour tour tour w/ out an album. Same old stupid setlist is old. 1/2 new 1/2 old would be good.

Man it's such a stone cold trip for me to be actually thinking this damn thing might finally come out.  I have been waiting for five years.  That's crazy to me that i'm almost positive that it's going to happen this time round.  I really hope a dvd happens.  The story of chinese democracy is such a mystery i would love to know just what exactly happened?

Merck did say (quite a while back), that the tour and the album would be revealed all at the same time. Although, which tour he was referring to, and whether that will happen is another thing.

Was there an anouncement from the management for the Euro tour this year? If not, there's reason to believe there will be more than just tour dates in the press release...

The Seattle Station mentioned above (99.9 KISW) says listen around 11PST for a GNR announcement in case anybody when the dates could possibly announced today.

It will feel very strange to know the album will be out xx.xx.2006..

Perhaps I am missing a point here?, but on the news section of GNR it says three new shows 'announced'.

I see no such 'announcement'. More along the lines of 'three new shows appeared on Ticketmaster'.

^ My guess is that every day there will be a few more [until the announcment is made, which will be in a couple days] and they will update gnronline.com and then have a press release about the tour.. (and we can only hope C.D) :yes:

Mysteron can you tell us if GnR will be performing in Vancouver? I will go to Everett, but it would be a hell of a lot more convenient to go to Vancouver. Are you guys still announcing the whole tour this week? Thanks for your time, any info you could share would be greatly appreciated.

I am not a Mysteron, but if most/all tickets go on sale on 30th so probably there will be a presale day at TM on 29th, the latest it would be announced is 28th. so that is just 2 more days to go if no sooner. also as some dates are already in January I am sure we will get full tour info and than it will be easy for you to decide if you should go to Everett or Vancouver  :P . Hope that helps. It is just my logic.

I was hoping Mysteron could just give me a yes or no on Vancouver. Just a nice heads up for us B.C. folk so we can save our time and money, not going to Everett.

It would give some credibility to the fact that Axl had planned on getting the album out before the end of the year and that they attepmted to work on it all the way until the last minute

To be fair, the Cali shows were moved to Jan, not Dec. And there were no Miami or Dubai shows at New Year, so this was all wrong regardless

But it does give credibility to Axl in regards to trying to get the album out this year as promised........

There was a NYE show planned for Dubai though.  That is a fact.  It was only cancelled a couple of weeks back.
