DUDE Axl is fucking spot on tonight, i thought it started at 3 eastern so i missed some, but he's spot fucking on.

I, as well as a host of others predicted this move a long time ago.  Whenever a guy shaves a goatee, he looks immediately 5 or 10 years younger.  It happens to me every time.   Axl and the gang look and sound awesome tonight.  I'm so glad I woke myself up for this!!!!!!!!!    :beer:

Axl needs to put on the Bandana to complete his image, and to hide his hairline.

I agree about the bandana, but I also think he looked a lot cooler with the goatee/beard than he does with the cleanly shaved face. He looks similar to 2002 now in that he looks pretty creepy without the beard IMHO.

Origen, I wasn't one of the idiots freaking out over the beard at the beginning of the year. I thought it looked much better than how he looked in 2002, which was like a NIGHTMARE. Like it or not, but you can't sell records in America or anywhere for that matter if you don't at least have a decent image. Axl's 2002 look was Michael Jackson-ish in terms of how freaky it was. By shaving the beard, he's sort of reverting back to it. But hey, maybe he'll get rid of the braids and add a bandana? At this point though, he needs the beard if he's going to keep the braids in my opinion.

someone wrote that he needs the goatee to keep the braids,and I thought the same,but there will not take long before we are used to see him without the beard(I already am :hihi:),just as we became used to see him WITH beard :P (or atleast it took awhile for me to get used to it,and I really liked it,but it did make him look a bit like my uncle :nervous:)

I don't think he really planed on keeping the beard for long, the clean look is easy and itch free, grey starts to show more and more in your forties. I'm in to the hair free thing myself, so is the wife, ok that's enough of that!

When the gig started at first, I thought Axl looked kind of funny or at least different than we are used to...

The first thing I noticed was that he was wearing make-up and thought it was cool, it made him look good IMO.

It took until to It's So Easy or Mr.Brownstone for me to notice he had shaven his beard...   :rofl:

As I said before, he looks very similar to 2002 without the beard except for the fact that his braids are slightly shorter and obviously he's dressed much better. The beard look was way cooler IMHO.

Yeah, he looks much better WITH facial hair. IMO, his face looked slimmer. Something about a beard or goatee looks a lot more rock-star. One thing, he definitely needs to trim the braids again. They looked a lot better when they were shorter, but I'm nitpicking...

For some reason he looks younger with the goatee. I could care less either way, but the bare face doesn't seem to fit this new "hair"style... if you want to call it that.

You know, I don't mind the braids a whole lot, and I admire Axl for trying to do something different with his style every time he comes out of hiding (especially in 2002...it was both complete genius and a dreadful mistake what the band did then - in some ways it was brilliant but I don't think it worked as GN'R, it was too different...).

My problem with the braids is that it reminds me of the nu-metal movement at the turn of the millenium and it very much reminds me of bands like Limp Bizkit for some reason. It doesn't look like Axl and it doesn't look like a classic rock band. Finck's got the look right now - if he had looked like that in '02 it would have been great, I thought he was the weak link when it came to the band's image then.

If Axl lost the braids and let his hair loose he would definitely get an easier break from the critics, but at the same time I think it's cool that he has his own look going with Chinese Democracy - he's really trying to reinvent the public perception of the band, I think he's just going about it the wrong way.

Just to add my opinion - I think he looked awesome with the goatee. It made him look matured, and stately. It was a good look. Bring it back man.

He  looks younger without gray hairs in his beard. 

I wonder what his hair looks like down now.

I think the critics would be harder on him if he let his hair out, like Sebastian Bach, saying he was still living in the "hair band" heydays.
