someone should email cheeba and ask them questions like:

1) is this art for the upcoming tour, or a one time deal
2) is this art for CD
3) if not, are you doing art for CD
4) is there any other art available
5) where can we download high resolution images of the art
6) can you tell us anything about expected timeline for production of CD, if this is related

etc. etc.

Poster is great...still like the Chinese guy taking off the bandana.  If this was the cover of the CD it WOULD fit perfectly...very nice.  Just needs to say Chinese Democracy and a date..would make it 1000 times better.

Judging by the work on his site, he does a lot of local San Fran stuff, though he has done artwork and stuff for bands like Slayer and Staind. I know it's definitely a beautiful piece of work. He has amazing style. They need to get him to do the art for the album and tour...

I think the cover for CD should be the Chinese man with the bandana, it kind of ties in with Axl's old image with the iconic bandana and also has kind of an ironic tone to it, I like it a lot.

My opinion on this being the cover for CD:  I don't think this is the cover, but it is possible that cover will be related to this is some way or another.

My opinion on this poster being better than VR's:  I think both posters are cool, but have different styles.  I don't think the similarities are intentional.

What great about the poster is the motif, cupid (eros, love, libido ) kissing psyche (agape, soul, spirit) to revive her.

Here's why I think this won't be the cover for Chinese Democracy:

In 1991 Guns N' Roses played at the Warfield Theater (05.09.91). The posters for this show were unique and looked very different than the posters used for the other shows. You can find a pic of this poster on www.gnrontour.com (http://www.gnrontour.com): http://www.gnrontour.com/sets1991/19910509poster.jpg.
So I guess the Warfield Theater designs its own posters. That's also why this poster was designed in San Francisco.

Besides, I think the design of this poster would suit a techno album better then a GN'R album, but that's just my opinion.

I have this pic as my wallpaper on my computer right now and I was kind of just off in a daze looking at it for minute.  DID ANYONE NOTICE what looks to be like a Jesus Christ type looking figure in the pic??  Maybe it's just me, but if you look between the right elbow of Cupid and the right arm pit area of Psyche, you see can see it.  It's a little dark in that area but I don't think it's a coincedence that it's there. From a distance it may even look like a woman but it seems to have long hair. Maybe I'm going crazy because it's 3:40 in the morning right now.  Oh, and sorry if this was already pointed out.

It has to do with the Fillmore(another venue in the city for those that don't know). As history goes, during the 60s they used to pass out psychedelic concert posters as people left the building. Theres books of all the old posters, and many of them are on display in venues around the area. The warfield and the fillmore are both part of 'bill graham presents', local promoter(now owned by live nation, but still continuing many traditions).

Noone lost, she retracted her $90 bid from that particular auction and decided to buy it for $50. I saw the $50 BUY-IT-NOW auction earlier and I didn't buy it.

I wouldn't have bid on the other one ($76 until she retracted her bid) since the same poster has been popping up on Ebay every day now.

I just picked my poster up from the frame shop. It looks beautiful in a copper frame. Everybody who wants one should try and snatch up a copy!
