Title: 97.7 HTZ FM says Guns announcement next week
Post by: northernwave on September 19, 2006, 02:03:36 PM
This morning on HTZ FM, the dj Kristy Knight who is a big Guns fan said she was sworn to secrecy, but there will be some sort of a Guns announcement next week.? Probably Canadian show dates.?

She did this interview with Slash back in the day that was released:

It's only gonna be a tour date at best.....I don't give a hot fuck about "announcements" unless it has to do with a release date which is not going to be announced by anyone outside the GNR circle.....Thanks for the info though.... :peace:

it prolly is a "HTZFM PRESENTS" tour date...but that's what I'm waiting for  unless it's a single but they always do this for concerts that they sponser...and maybe they gotta wait till next week cuz GnR is gonna make the announcement first...with the other 3 shows that have been posted then removed from various places it makes me think that we'll get some kinda statement from the band "SOON"

yeah.. i guess there still is alot of tour dates to be announced.. but i dont see why they should wait with announcing them...

i think a single should be out before October 25th.. But ive been a member in the GNR world far to long to belive it will happen..
but someday it will.. and it can be any day now...

It's not out of Calgary, so you don't care.

This combined with a radio station out of Halifax, Nova Scotia saying there will be a GN'R announcement this week gives it more credibility. Looks like things are shaping up for Canadian tour date announcements. Guns are really going to rock Canada hard this time, right from Atlantic Canada to to the West!

If this was actually said it looks like there is at least one Canadian date in the works... I hope they do a handful of cities.  I'd like to see them in Montreal this time around instead of Toronto.

If this DJ was sworn to secrecy, why did they even mention it? :nervous:

Maybe the GNR camp is sending out fake announcement info to DJs so they can find out who they can trust :hihi:

They know they cant trust this DJ.

I'm hoping they will come down to Texas before they start playing in Canada. But hey, the more GNR shows the better!

what makes texas so damn special :hihi: j/k

they prolly will hit texas first either that or come up the eastern side then down the west but they seem to be starting west and moving east then north so prolly a safe bet that texas will get early dates :peace:

I seriously laughed out loud when I read your last sentence. ?Considering that Toronto was the first show to sell out on the 2002 tour (ie. date of tour, not when tickets were sold), I'd seriously doubt GNR would skip Toronto (plus, supposedly Axl likes the women here in Toronto). ?Not to mention what happened the last time GNR came by Montreal. ?

I do hope Montreal does get a show as I would probably make the trip and see them there as well. ?If I were planning this tour, I'd have Vancouver, Edmonton, Galgary, maybe Saskatechwan, Ottawa, Toronto, London, Montreal, Quebec City, Halifax, and maybe St. Johns as tour stops. ?My bet is that each of those shows would be sellouts or close to. ?I'd actually like to see two dates for Toronto, a club gig and a night at the Air Canada Centre.

Cheers,

Andrew

It's special because I am here.  ;D No, I'm just playing. But what you said sounds reasonable.

calgary and edm would rock, that way i could see both shows....  i might even fly out to van and catch that one, provided tickets are cheap enough.

at this point any mention of an announcement by a radio station is probably alluding to tour dates....

I think you misunderstood my post. ?I'm positive they will play a show in Toronto... I'm just saying I already saw them play at the ACC so I hope they announce a handful of Canadian dates (like you said) so I could road trip to see them play in Montreal. ?I've never been to an arena show in Montreal, so I want to do that to try something new... but if they play in Ottawa I may just suck it up and see that show (we put together a half-decent crowd for Velvet).

 : ok:

Man

   Dates back home !

Lucky bastards, on that list of Canadian dates there was a city forgotten London....(along with Toronto, Boston, Albany, NYC) apparently it was also it was one of the best shows in '02.

Could it be a date in Hamilton ?

Alright good. This is the kind of news/rumors I like to hear. But if it's only to announce new dates than it's a waste of time. Announce all the dats at once. Any further "big announcements" should be regarding CD.

There is no list. Some people are getting excited by this topic and have speculated about Canadian cities that GnR' might tour.

Hmmm I wonder if Copps would mean an ACC show is out?

They packed the ACC in 2002 (about 15,000) so I don't see why they couldn't do it again? GNR have played Copps before also... or are they doing both? The cities are barely an hour apart...

well GNR played Nassua coliseum in 01, and the 3 nights at MSg in 01 , and its only 30 mins drive, but I give you that it was 6 months apart, but all the same. its not outta the oridinary

The Kool Haus would be a fucking great place for a club gig, the night before ACC.

Living in Hamilton, I would think a date here is unlikely - I hope it happens, but I would put my money on Toronto only at this point.  Hamilton usually picks up the second leg of a tour.

I don't know dude, the Kool Haus has some of the worst accoustics I've ever heard.  If GNR wants to play a real club gig, reminiscent of their early days, Lee's Palace or the Horseshoe would be awesome.

Hey man - last time I got GNR tickets for Toronto - I got 4th row at ACC

My source / scalper is the best in this area - you can come along if you don't mind paying for it - lat time the tix were aroung $200 each - let me know - we can get presale first and see what he gets after - if you are in - we will have 4 in total going

I just talked to her on the phone and asked if they had give away tickets.  She went on saying...

It takes alot of behind the scenes work and legal stuff to get them to the people and that they don't fall out of the sky... (I said "wouldn't that be nice")   She was giving me kind of a nice attitude!   She said no give aways today.  She could not say when?

They were playing " wish you were here"  and when the song was over,  she says on air, something like?  "wish you were here" Having something to do with goals and dreams...giving people Something to think about?

She was very cool thou!
