i was just browsing the entertainment weekly fall/winter music preview..saw over 100 upcoming release dates....NOTHING ON GNR.......it is obvious the album will NOT be out in 2006.....and yet we keep talking like it is a foregone conclusion it will be out in the next few months......REWIND 10 YEARS to September 1996 and we were having the exact same discussion talking about the new record....I am thinking this record will NEVER be out...Axl is going to do another US tour with NO ALBUM, NO SINGLE.............At what point do we give up waiting anxiously for the new record???

for those of us with half a brain, we gave up waiting 5 years ago.

i gave up hope in 02, but now things have been shed some light on, a great tour has been completed and another started with axl still saying this year for release

i will give up if it isnt out this year.

What's this "we" shit?? Give up at your own discretion, don't let anyone else pursuade you. Me, I still think there is time for '06. That said, if it doesn't come out in '06 I'll be upset.

A. Because Axl said a few times it will be out this year.
B. This tour will be questionable (ie. 2002) without an album or single.

Also, January is a terrible month for releases, because people spent all their cash & credit cards during the holiday spending rush, and alot of people don't drop an extra $15 bucks on a CD (The diehards will, but marketers look for the casual ?fans $$ as well) therefore the men in suits will have it pushed to 'spring'.. If it doesn't make it out this year.

Me, I still believe it's coming out in '06, and feel there is still time, but yeah you knever know. If it doesn't yeah, I'll be pissed, and quit "waiting".

I just keep checking up to see if something is happening, but I've lost my "CHINESE DEMOCRACY SOON!" thoughts.

Its funny how much everything right now looks exactly like 2002.
But I HOPE it comes out this year, it's just hard to be optimistic.

more seriously, at the momment about the record, Mysteron is very quite, Bigboss (Sp1at) is very quite, I guess they were told to be quite because something will gonna happen soon? 

Mysteron is bound to be busy, there's a Gn'R tour happening at the moment.

Anything can happen, seriously cast your mind back to march of this year, 6 months or something, if someone would have told me gnr were going to touring sucessfully (so far) this year and id have seen them 3 times by the end of july then id have said fuck off there is no chance of that happening! It has, so my point is, just because an actual release date hasnt been announced yet there is no need to panic! it could be tomorrow!!!!!

Also, axl has said its coming out this year, no more "i wouldnt say soon is the word" etc, hes given it a time frame and is therefore accountable to the press his fans etc if it doesnt come out. Something tells me this time its going to happen! just a feeling in my water!

If nothing is announced by the end of the warmup dates (oct 5) its not coming out this year. I'd even go as far as to say if it's not announced by the end of Inland Invasion, it's unlikely.

Now if its not coming out this year, the album isn't finished. And because they will be on tour the next few months (north america, south america, asia), the next possible release date is a long way away.

I still think Inland Invasion is the time. In front of all the hardcore fans watching at home, a lot of casual fans as well, as its a live webcast. The first LA show in 15 years (I think). It's so appropriate. But we've thought that many times before...so who knows?

i was thinkin the inland invasion as well, even if he doesnt give a release date then they can at least announce the 1st single (considering its one of the biggest radio stations in the US) im keeping my fingers crossed

Did I miss something? ?Does "waiting" actually require some sort of effort on our part? ?Because all it means to me is living my life until the album comes out. ?Either it will, or it won't. ?If it does, great, I'll buy it and get to listen to some great (hopefully) music. ?If it doesn't...I have more than enough GnR material, as it stands, to fill my 6 disk changer in my car...and life will go on. The sun will rise, my kids will wake me up at the crack of dawn, and I'll toil away another week in the salt mines earning my paycheck.

See, I just don't understand the sentiment. ?Give up? ?You make it sound like it's an effort to draw breath every second the album doesn't see the light of day. ?What is there to "give up" exactly? ?Why would someone stop doing something that requires absolutely nothing on their part...literally? ?It just requires you to exist until something does or doesn't happen.....

Well, that's not "waiting", that's "posting".

And even if GnR sent out a PR tomorrow saying "Chinese Democracy is as dead as the idea of REAL Democracy in China" or "Chinese Democracy Release Date: Hell Freezes Over", I'd still continue to post here.   I'd post less in the GNR section, I guess, because there'd be less to talk about concerning current GnR.  But still.......

Thansk for posting that - I would say the same thing.

The use of "we" is a problem for me as well - people keep making posts saying "when do we stop waiting;" "if a single doesn't come out soon, we're in serious trouble" etc. Who the hell is we? Speak for yourself if you want, but please don't extend it to me, the rest of the board or the band.

If CD doesn't come out by Thursday, April 23, 2019, I'll probably give up then.  Probably...

LOL. As far as I remember you are chanting 'this is the year' - for years. Once you'll be right (hopefully) and you'll act like you've been one of the 'realists' unlike the vicious 'haters' who don't even deserve to hear the 'magic', the 'best record of all time'.


Back to the topic. I gave up my hopes in 2002, but right now I strongly feel it can happen this year.

I guess there's times I'm more optimistic.. but 3 months will go by in front of our eyes fast, so it's either gonna be an amazing 3 months full of surprises or 3 months to forget and bury deep in Gn'R fans memories..

Actually, the time has past that I don't really give a damn anymore about chinese democracy. They had to released it few years ago! Few years ago, also the non-GN'R fans were waiting for the album, or at least were interested in it. (also the media)

They (GN'R) have reached a point that the album will never be a commercial succes because it has become a joke. If it will really see the daylight then it will be soo critisized (or how do you spell this word?) that a success album is out of the question. I hope of course the Guns can prove me wrong, but I don't think so.

The band in 2002 also sucked big time. Be real!! At this moment they are quit ok (not as super as they once were): better voice, better attitude, etc...than in 2002 but it's like too late now.
Of course, I do not exclude the fact that I will be wrong and that CD will be "an historial album", but again, I doubt it. I strongly believe it will be out without real big media attention. Only the real Gunners like us will be excited with the release (if there ever will be a release....).

Basically, I gave up my hopes about my favorite band to be the best fucking rock n' roll band again.

But that doesn't stop the anticipation - it'll come out, but my world wont alter if it doesn't come out in 2006 - however Axl said this year , and if there's a man who knows when it's due it'll be Axl.

It'll be out, when it's out and we can all enjoy it when it does.

But theres good signs the album is comming this time. I mean the tour, leaked tracks (this is significant to me cos it shows there actually are recorded versions of songs ready for an album, and cos of the different versions, songs that are being worked on and improved, not just songs around that may one day be recorded). Plus axl said it will come this year. its not like he avoided the question as he used to a while back.

So i think its really comming, if not, well it'd be a shame, but i'll keep waiting!
