I guess it's starting about an hour later than last night eh? Hitting the stage around midnight, that's even late under GN'R standards isn't it?lol (Although, if I recall correctly, they also hit the stage around midnight a few years ago when they played in Vegas.)

They should really change up the setlist, atleast a bit. I would think it couldbe more fun for them too to mess around and not to go with the same formula that they have been doin' whole summer. And i am not bitchin' i saw them 2 times this summer and enjoyed both show, i was just trying think it from the bands view...

What is going on with all the setlist? BORING! Boring in the sense that a ?new album is "supposed" to be right around the corner and these guys are more and more starting to look like a cover band. Also whats' with all the damn solos? Dizzy's doing solos now? Solos kill the flow of the show in my opinion. ?Whatever. how does the band sound tonight? anybody know? If they sound tight at least thats' a ?positive.

One cool thing is a least theyy're playing 20 songs(six solos/jams is way way too much, next Tommmy and Brain will being doing solos). thye really should be throwing in some new stuff though or at least some different illusion stuff. I really don't get what's going on. maybe there's a method to all this ???

You people are never happy!! Always going to bitch about something! Just sit back and injoy the ride, for once!!!!!!!!!!!Damn!

I went to 2 gigs and it was 2 really different shows.

1st show : paris ... long solos, madagascar ... great audience. Loud Crowd.
2nd show : Wembley 1st show ... no long solos (god save the queen played), 3 new covers songs (sailing ....) Rocket Queenn ...

so stop bashing the Playlist !!!
Each gig is really unique.

Solos are necessary to REST the vovalist's voice for a few minutes....IF you will think back Matt AND Slash BOTH did solos............

and If you think the setlist is boring....hey, I have an idea....come up with a NEW one..............all by your fucking self, submit it in  triplicate and inset it where the sun don't shine

Good sign they played 4 new songs in back-to-back shows.

Regarding solos...........
I'm sure all GNR fans would rather "put up with" some of the best guitarists in the world performing solos as opposed to Axl blowing out his voice and then NO TOUR AT ALL.

They are some of the best rock musicians in the world.? I'm sure they are putting on the best show that they are capable of putting on.

There also seems to be a belief that most fans do not like the solos.? I love them all and would not want them sacrificed for one more song added to the setlist.

GNR plays balls to the wall rock 'n' roll throughout the majority of their set.? Even pro athlestes need breaks (halftime.....timeouts).? Why not these guys??

I'd actually like to see LALD and KOHD be put in the vault and never played again live.? Instead of complaining about it over and over and over again, I'd rather be appreciative that they are back on the road instead of focusing on things I could whine and complain about relentlessly.

Some of you would probably have better days if you tried something new......gratitude.

That actually looks like a GREAT set list to me. Maddy, IRS, Blues, Better- and a couple "hidden gems" like "Used to Love Her" and "Out Ta Get Me"- which are not necessarily "givens" (although frequently played) when you see a GN'R show. Not bad.

Didn't Axl say that the band has either decided and/or has been advised that they need to "make it feel like old GN'R" as much as possible? The set list, ditching Bucket and adding Ron, Finck's new "look", having Izzy and Seb around etc. are all part of that process.

So, after every GN'R show in this warm-up gigs we'll have those kind of whinning posts? :P

Oh, and if by October 20th they put the same setlist (wich would be not surprising, hence what Axl said), someone should make a thread only to bitch, bash and whine, so we could avoid this kind of lame shit.

Axl started off with a white tshirt that said "Youth for Assasination" or something like that. Then after that he put on hte leather black jacket for a bit, as well as his cutoff sleeves shirt for a couple songs.

uhmmm ...

WOW , they have never played a setlist like this before !! ?;D
BUT THANKX !!

CMON Axl , try to give something NEW to your fans ... ( NEW Album , NEW Set List ... , New Songs ... )

So you have 29 posts as of my reply, and as far as I can tell, every one of them says exactly the same thing with minor variations. To begin with, I don't agree with the sentiment, but is it really necessary to repeat yourself ad nauseum? We already have some people one the board who write this exact post 5x a day - the last thing we need is another one.

Nope Ron had a new pinstripe-ish shirt with blue jeans on.

Tommy had on a plaid suit with his cherry red bass and Axl, during band intro goes, "The wonderful Tommy Stintson, wearing a two piece plaid number. With his cherry red bass, a true Diner outfit!"

Pittman was on the side of the stage during Ron's Don't Cry solo, and the whole show he was drinking something out of a cup with a big straw sticking out of it. When he plays, I noticed last night he yells "MOTHER FUCKERRRRR" like every three seconds.

The people that keep repeating themselves are those that seem to just want to get a reaction - because they know saying that same thing will do it, they keep repeating it.

It must be a sad way to live. Maybe if we ignore, they will go out and find new and wonderful things in the world.  :hihi:

why cant people be happy with the fact GNR are touring and getting ready to release the new stuff, WHEN thealbum is out, then more new stuff will be played, they are a great live act so why complain

AGREED...A lot of people here will never be happy until GN'R is playing the exact setlist that some people on this board  want, without any solos. The amount of solos probably changes from night to night depending on how Axl is feeling.  If he thinks his voice needs more rest, more solos... and likewise.  Of course MOST of us would all love to have more songs included and some solos dropped off the set, but this isn't our band.  Axl is out there touring right now and when he wasn't, people would bitch that he wasn't doing ANYTHING. Now that he is, people are still bitching about it.  The guy will never be able to win because there will always be so many people (Including a lot of "fans") that aren't happy with what he's doing, no matter what it is. When this album finally comes out, the bitching will continue.  We always complain about how long it's taking and HAS TAKEN to make and release this album, but some of us will still find a way to nitpick, criticize, knock and pick apart this album, just to continue bitching about something.  Sure EVERY SINGLE ONE OF US doesn't always agree with what GN'R is doing or has done and we have said something about it.  But to BITCH ABOUT IT EVERY SINGLE FUCKING DAY IS SO REPETITIVE AND FUCKING ANNOYING!!  We heard you the first time, so you don't need to fucking say it anymore!!  Like SlashisVR said above, we will hear more new songs when the album drops.  I don't think it will be as many as some of us think, but I think it will be about 8-9 varying new songs per show and that will really depend on how well this album does and how well it is received by fans.  The set-list will definitely be altered quite a bit when the album comes out, so we ALL just need to be patient and appreciative of what we are getting now.

So many of you people just don't fucking get it. nobody is complaining about the songs played but rather the lack of new material. thel ack of mention about CD. So many damn blind followers saying "why complain just enjoy the fact that Gusn N' Roses are toruing" that's bullshit. They've been touring now since May and there has been nothing mentioned by Axl to the fans regarding CD other than the vague "this year" comment. Alot fo the new songs have been dropped from the set completely. I'm a  fan as much as anyone but I'm tired of this "enjoy the ride" shit that's been going on since 2002.  I want progress. I want the band to move forward. Can any of you deny the fact that this band is more and more looking like a cover band?   I also mentioned in past posts that maybe this is all just warm up for the real tour which starts October 24th so I'm not closed minded enough to not think there's still time but I'm not blind to the fact that time is running out.  Time's running out for a 2006 relese date, time's running out on the integrity of this band.  My complaints as well as other's complaints come out of frustration at the lack of progress.  Also alot of you seem to think that the bitching only happens here on Guns N' Roses forums well wake up. There's bitching on every single forum. Fans aren't always gonna be happy. Fans of sports teams, bands, or whatever will alwasy bitch and always praise. It goes witht he territory so deal with it.

I completely agree with you. My biggest concern is that when Axl hands over the album to the record company, they'll tell Axl that they already have too many big releases in the fall, and they're going to wait and put his album out next summer. That will fuck Axl for trying to sell out these big venues, and clear channel or whoever the promoter is will cancel the tour. Axl will be seen as a joke and a failure, and driven back into to seclusion. This strategy of announcing shows every few days is fucking stupid as well. Why can't Merck convince Axl to let him take ads out in music publications, newspapers, and MTV/Much Music announcing all the tour dates at once. They could even start their own web page with a list of all the tour dates, and a sign that says GNR World Tour 2006.? ?

why cant people be happy with the fact GNR are touring and getting ready to release the new stuff, WHEN thealbum is out, then more new stuff will be played, they are a great live act so why complain

AGREED...A lot of people here will never be happy until GN'R is playing the exact setlist that some people on this board? want, without any solos. The amount of solos probably changes from night to night depending on how Axl is feeling.? If he thinks his voice needs more rest, more solos... and likewise.? Of course MOST of us would all love to have more songs included and some solos dropped off the set, but this isn't our band.? Axl is out there touring right now and when he wasn't, people would bitch that he wasn't doing ANYTHING. Now that he is, people are still bitching about it.? The guy will never be able to win because there will always be so many people (Including a lot of "fans") that aren't happy with what he's doing, no matter what it is. When this album finally comes out, the bitching will continue.? We always complain about how long it's taking and HAS TAKEN to make and release this album, but some of us will still find a way to nitpick, criticize, knock and pick apart this album, just to continue bitching about something.? Sure EVERY SINGLE ONE OF US doesn't always agree with what GN'R is doing or has done and we have said something about it.? But to BITCH ABOUT IT EVERY SINGLE FUCKING DAY IS SO REPETITIVE AND FUCKING ANNOYING!!? We heard you the first time, so you don't need to fucking say it anymore!!? Like SlashisVR said above, we will hear more new songs when the album drops.? I don't think it will be as many as some of us think, but I think it will be about 8-9 varying new songs per show and that will really depend on how well this album does and how well it is received by fans.? The set-list will definitely be altered quite a bit when the album comes out, so we ALL just need to be patient and appreciative of what we are getting now.
You are so right!!!!!! Axl will not play anymore new song's until album drop's, people will just turn them into bootlegs and ruin the whole suprise of CHINESE DEMOCRACY. just my opinion. Rock on everyone rock on !!!!!!

If you read the internet before, during and after every show, you're right; it is boring and predictable.

My life is very good, thanks to worry for me. I'm 25, highly graduated and have more money on my bank account than you will ever dream of. : ok:
I'm just beeing honnest here. that's it.

Sometimes honesty makes you sound like a douche bag.? Highly graduated??? Wouldn't it be highly EDUCATED??? You spelled HONEST wrong and you better put that money IN your bank account instead of ON it, just so it doesn't get stolen.

I enjoyed that one... thanks for the laugh.

Nobody's going to try to delay this record from coming out.  It's going to be a quick release from the record company as soon as Axl gives his tumbs up

Same here, I'm also disappointed. NO one in my area, besides me, knows that GNR are on tour right now. Nothings on the radio about them, No one talks about them at the bars. GNR better start playing more new songs and release a record soon, Because this is becoming an embarrisment to all GNR fans.

All I can say is holy fuckin shit!!!  Im just gonna rattle off random thoughts pertaining to my experience last night.

If you havent seen this band live yet and all you do is sit home on the computer and bitch and moan about set lists and solos, YOU KNOW NOTHING.

If you judge this band by the bootlegs, even the pro shot, YOU KNOW NOTHING.

YOU NEED TO BE THERE TO GET IT.

The solos and jazz interludes make everything flow smoothly, NOBODY complained.

All three guitarist blew me away.  All three are just as good as Slash.

Axl can pierce your eardrum when he goes to the top of his range.

As a band they are very tight and powerful. They play the old songs to perfection with a stylistic twist.

IRS is so good live. Its so heavy and dramatic, people didnt know it and they were really into it.

Sometimes Axl has a hard time projecting his voice over the music, either that or there was something wrong with his mic.  Either way, that was probably only 15% of the time. The other 85% was kick ass.

When Axl sang "freed of all the chains we held together" It was one of the most powerful moments in rock history.

Every song had those moments.

This was the best concert I have ever been to in my life.  Better than HOB 01-01-01.

Axl has still fuckin got it.    : ok: :peace:

I totally agree. I was blown away too when I heard IRS Live too. I think it's my favourite newGNR track and already one of my favourite "rocker" of all time. That song is realy loud Live. Especially the end (the last verse after the guitar solo), it's like a "wall of sound".

If it were released as a single, the teenagers would fall in love with that song.

After a long and awesome gig last night, I knew that it was going to be another great show and I knew the timings better too so this time we decided to skip the opening act and still got pretty good spots.  Ahh, you gotta love the club venues!  Unfortunately one thing that was really annoying was that I noticed that some people were let in first who didn?t even wait in line!
This show was completely awesome as well, and the band was on fire!  I could definitely tell that Axl was sick though because the vocals suffered a little bit.  VERY impressed that he got through the show without major problems!  I noticed he was drinking a lot of liquids and during Jungle I could hear a cough.  He also changed some things around because he was having trouble singing a few times. He wasn?t in as good of a mood as Saturday night but I wouldn?t say he was in a bad mood either.

Tonight the solos were all different except for Dizzy?s piano solo, which was Ziggy Stardust.  I still could have used maybe one less solo spot though even though its understandable that they do it.

For the Blues, this time Axl didn?t jump on the piano making it less of a powerful moment.  Out Ta Get Me had a sweet intro because Robin, Richard and Ron were all up in front of the stage with Richard and Robin standing on top of the monitors.  It really injected a lot of energy into the show at that point.  They showed what a good band they are by not missing a beat even though Axl came in late during the last verse.

Used to Love Her was definitely the highlight of the show for me. I had never seen them play it and really wanted to hear it so I was really excited to hear it!!!  It seemed like it wasn?t on the setlist and they just decided to play it because some of the guys were talking before the song.  They had a blast playing it, great version and there were 2 solos taken by Robin, then Richard and they had a lot of the crowd singing along.

Before Patience Axl mentioned that he talked to Izzy and he was in Mexico somewhere riding trucks around in the desert but he sends his mojo.

A few other random things that I noticed:

This time during the move the piano jam, Axl joined in and played some piano in a jazzy style.  This show was the first time I saw Ron?s Fretless guitar.  Also, at the end Axl bowed by himself with a rose in his teeth after the group bowing moment.
Also, from the previous Vegas shows I miss the TV screens on stage showing video clips, that was a very cool extra to have up there.

It was quite an amazing weekend for me, and these shows are the best yet I?ve seen from the band which is pretty damn good considering Axl was sick.  I was glad to see that the setlists aren?t completely set in stone and the jams and solos have been different.  I also knew more or less what to expect so it didn?t shock me that the band didn?t play 10 new songs or play Coma or anything like that!  I can?t wait to see them again and especially when the album is out so they can finally play more of their own material.  I am definitely ready to see more shows, but GNR in Vegas has been pretty special.  Hope to make the next Vegas gig!!

Round 2 has just Begun!!!

awesome stuff, I like reading all these great reviews, after yrs of hering all the whining, this band kicks ass fuck yeah!. I like the grass roots approach about touring the US , cause people need to see this show, the US for the most part has not,  and as always its only die hards like ourselves that keep following, but the pay off will be awesome . Im so damn happy that so many new fans are seeing this, and judgin from the expierience,. You cant judge something you never expierienced.!!!!!!

There was also a box of Kleenex for him near his drinks by the drums so he was definitely a little sick.  As I was there even before the opener and right up front I was watching them bring all the stuff out.

Whatever he had didn't stop him from giving an awesome show though!
