Kemper would be fine by me...... its just an average mid-sized arena, but the acoustics were spot-on when I saw U2 there in the fall of 2001. 

I just had a thought watching an AIC video and I think it would be awsome to have AIC and/or Sebastian open for GNR on the whiole tour

well, just got back from vacation and my friend had told me that 93ROCK (radio station) down here in South Florida is havbing some sort of Porn Festival thing and that GNR are supposed to play as well as BFMV on Sep. 30th. I don't know anything else as I just got home minutes ago...

After playing SCOM on Big 105.9 in Miami this afternoon, Courtney Young said she'd heard of a possible South Florida date for GNR, and that she'd pass on any info as she got it.  Sweet!  : ok:

BFMV have a bunch of US dates for the following 3 months.. Most of there dates are within a few days of eachother, but there is a gap between

My brother in law is a beer/wine distributor here in Atlanta. Apparently, Gwinnett Arena, holds approx 10,000-11,000, has Gnr tentatively scheduled for sometime in Oct/Nov. 96 rock mentioned some Gnr gossip that I missed two days ago....the dates will probably be announced soon-that is just my guess but it is getting pretty obvious at this point. :peace:

It's doubtful they'll play any dates before they play the KROQ show in CA in late September.  I would imagine that would kick off the tour on the west coast.  That would make the most sense at least.  Of course GNR doesn't often do things by the book.

especially since axl said that would be the opening date (9/23).  im sure they'll announce shows soon since the tour starts in less than two months

its a shame they havent announced the dates yet, because we are already in august and the tour will start in sept, so i wont be able to gather enough money to get good seats

i also hope they announce the dates soon, so i think of a way to get out of work

It's really funny, we should start whining now cause we can't gather enough money to see them live.

$2 million is a lot of money to book GN'R...that sounds fake...only a major festival would pay that amount...in 2002, the numbers going around were about $400,000 up front to book GN'R, i'm sure that varied..but the shows brang in an average of around $600-700 thousand based on just ticket sales per show...and that they made $1 million for RIRIII.

ticket sales are tnot the only way a concert or festival brings in money , there are concessions , alcohol , and other means of revenue . so if a festival had .....say 1 million dollars or even .....400,000 , gnr would make percentages else where



mind boggling just to think about that

well i may strike lucky my friend is moving to New York to work out there for 16 months so i will be planning a trip out to see when when GNR play the New York Area hopefully get to see a show or two with live updates and audio boots as well  so i am looking forward to an announcement very soon

LV can be a pretty cheap place - even the better hotels on the strip wont set you back as much as an average hotel in another city like New York. Eating costs hardly anything, transport is fairly easy (free around the strip).

I highly doubt there will be an Iowa date, but they did play The Mark in Moline on the last tour.  I was front row, and it was a pretty killer time.

The Stones were rumoured to be playing MSG on NYE, not sure if that still holds but they have no MSG shows scheduled
yet on their fall tour and the usually play there.

Here are my predictions:

New Years Eve show will happen, but overseas!
I think they will play the following East Cost Cities:
Cleveland,Pittsburgh,Long Island, Atlantic City, Detroit.

I say Toronto ? and NYC in mid november- vague yes, but you will see.

For the opening bands, I say Sebastian Bach and Supernova.

The Stones are doing Giants Stadium which is right outside of the city and still has not sold out yet, I doubt they will add a MSG date at this point, almost every year they have some sort of New Years show at the Garden- I could def see GNR being a possibility.

I seriously hope that Kemper Arena rumor is true.  I live in KC, and we always get shafted when big bands do tours.

You live in AZ too? I e-mailed a couple rock stations to find out if they've heard anything about GN'R coming to Phoenix or Tucson, but so far they haven't heard anything. They did seem really excited about the possibility though and said they would keep an eye on it.

I wonder if they will play the hp pavilion in san jose.  They were scheduled to play there new year eve 2002, but that of course was cancelled.  It is a pretty big venue though so I dont know.  I really hope they do since it is only a short drive for me, and I miossed them in 2002.

Mods, feel free to move this topic as I'm not sure if this is the correct section. I was driving home from Maryland last night and I had 93.3 WMMR on (as usual). MMR is a big rock station in Philly. So, sometime around 10:30 the dj (Matt Cord) played November Rain. As the song was starting he was still talking and said something along the lines of "These guys have a couple of shows in Vegas at the Joint starting a week from tomorrow. Watch out for them to be around Philly sometime around the end of October or maybe the beginning of November. Uh, November 8th, got it?" While he was talking I thought it was cool to know the general timeframe of when they would be on the east coast, but then I swear he said November 8th!
           Was anyone else listening to MMR last night? It was after the ten club (a bunch of Pearl Jam songs at ten) but before the block of new songs at eleven. If anyone else was listening please let me know so I know I'm not crazy. Also, I checked ticketmaster and there is a show at the Wachovia center on Novemeber 8th but there is nothing scheduled at the Tweeter Center or the Spectrum (hockey is away this day). Could this date be accurate?

It would deffintly make sense because if they are starting at the end of October, i feel they are probably going to start around the east coast, because they already played like 9 gigs over the west coast by then... So, yeah it does make sense, we'll have to see... I'd give it about 10 days (just a guess) until we know a bunch more dates...

I asked Fortus about a possible show in DC and NJ and he said probably early November, so Philly could definitely be in that time frame. 

That's good to hear. DJs are usually good about knowing when tour dates in their area well before they are made public. If' we've got east coast dates in early November (from Fortus' answer and the possible Nov. 8th show in Philly) I think it's a good bet all the dates will be announced pretty soon. Maybe around 10-14 days as EFISH suggested.

I still think Axl/the band will want to be in NYC by the time the record is out, just to "feel" the athmosphere. So touring on the East Coast by November would make perfect sense to me...

that would put Boston around that time too, id think *fingers crossed*

NY, Boston, Philly, NJ, NC, Virginia, Atlanta, South Florida... id imagine those places will get a show, some will get 2....

Just found out today from a radio station source down there that guns will be a comin' to Halifax in the next few months.? He couldn't give me a specific date but apparently it's already been confirmed for a go.? ?Now please don't go mental on me for posting this but it looks like things are starting to come together for at least some canadian dates this fall.

Redstar, did u hear this from a DJ in Halifax?  I was planning on flying to one of the New England States for a show.  Halifax would be much better though, only 4 hrs away.

Jones Beach would probably be a little cold in November. Their season usually ends around mid-late September I think

Halifax would be awesome. I've said it before GNR needs to tour Canada HARD this time, they always do well here... Toronto will be a sellout/near it, London ON last time was sold out. Calgary, Edmonton, maybe Regina, Winnipeg, Victoria or Vancouver (well riot so maybe Vic instead) and Montreal or Quebec City (again past riot so maybe something in QC?)... you might even slip Hamilton in there (maybe too close to Toronto though).

I saw Boston '02 live, MSG on dvd '02 and Hammerstein NYC this year...I can answer your question.  Without a doubt, yes!  By the end of the '02 tour, the band was tight, in '06 they just own these songs.  Axl's voice is better this year...waaay better.  :yes:

my cousin just told me his friend who works at Q104 told him that he heard GNR are looking into coming to nova scotia.. he said his friend is right 90% of the time so that should be intresting..its been almost 20 years since they have been here.

Bands always play in Canada during "American" tours. If they're in Seattle, why not play Vancouver? If they're in New York area, why not play Toronto and Montreal? Then Nova Scotia isn't far from there.

I think the band should skip Detroit and play the Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids.  It is in a perfect location.  It is half way between Detroit and Chicago.  Also, the sound is way better here then in the Palace.

Some rumors goin around about shows down South well recently in Halifax theres been some rumblings about a show, in Halifax I e emailed the local radio station q 104 and this is what i got back from them

JC Douglas is the main guy at the radio station here,  anyone who doesent know where Halifax is its in Nova Scotia Canada on the east coast  small city, The trailor park boys are filmed here, Im super pumped about this maybe he means that the release date is commin soon, or that the band themselves are commin who knows but im pumped, after years of waiting and commin to this site with little to no news for monthes and weeks, the last few months have been soo exciting in the world of guns n roses!!!

Exciting times...2006 is the year of GN'Rs return! I thought I'd never get to see them in Nova Scotia. I'll be buying tickets and making hotel reservations as soon as it's announced.

do you guys think it will be hard to get halifax gnr tickets? i am planning on camping out in line for seats...if anybody is intrested in joining me and my friends your more than welcome. we can have a gnr camp.i think they say at the metro center you cant camp out for more than 24 hours before tickets go on sale but i assume people dont care. besides if i get kicked out i can just walk home, i live on connaught.

If there is going to be a Halifax show, i would think that there would hopefully be a presale.  Looking at ticketmaster, it looks like the rest of the shows have had presales.  Therefore, u might not have to camp outside for a day or so.

I'm in Newfoundland. There's pretty much no way that GNR will come here... so off to Halifax it is!
No idea how I'll afford it, or if anyone will go with me, but I will DEFINITELY be going.

I hope we get the announcement soon that they were saying we are supposed to get here in Halifax.

All i know is, I cant wait 'till the dates between December 19th and January 10th are announced (well be finding out this week) because, since it's winter break.. im going to try to plan a vacation where i can see gnr atleast twice... to make it 4 times for the year!
